The character looks good and solid, though I'm willing to allow the Corrosive Coolant DHS's, I want you to take note that I may or may not have some of them go bad during the rp, since the actual sinks are probably old enough that they're past their expiration date. However, since I've prodded people about having PPCs, I'm gonna ask you to find a replacement for the PPC, after that you're golden.
@guardian wolf
I'll let you in, however I want to be clear, your character can be whacked out mentally, but if he was any threat to his allies, he would have been rejected by the Kharkandan military. Or his throat would have been slit by soldiers or mercenaries who felt their lives were threatened by him.
Alright?

SPOILER ALERT
As for Billy's past, the outfit that Billy was working for started out as Barbosa's Blackhearts in the 3030's when all the nifty lost-tech first started making a comeback. While it was just another run of the mill merc outfit composed of disenfranchised soldiers from the CapCon, the thing that set them apart from the norm was who they worked for: Ceres Metals.
Now Ceres is (or as I last checked anyways) the largest mech and weapon grade materials producer in BT. And they are notorious for using questionable means to stay one step ahead of their competitors. In this case they took some upstart merc unit and employ them to do planetary raids on worlds where they thought that reemerging weapon systems were being field tested, smash up the place, and take whatever they could find. They'd provide the intel on where to go and what to look for.
Since the Successor States seem to do their field testing on their periphery words (conveniently away from their more powerful and hateful neighbors) it was idea to attack disguised as pirates or some other third party if to confuse the victim if nothing else but it also points blame on someone else kind of like how Amaris' troops were doing in 'StarLord' where they would disguise themselves as Knights of the Inner Sphere, my inspiration for this, guilty.
Now despite how they disguised themselves as pirates and units from the victims neighboring periphery states, they always conducted themselves in a professional matter, and never engaged is acts that blatantly violated the Ares Conventions.
However, they were known to kick in the occasional bank vault or jewelry store...

Besides, he seriously doubted that anyone on this rock had a bullet with his name on it. But then again, that didn't mean that nobody had one with 'To whom it may concern' or 'A-hole' on them.
*snip*
I loved this line, especially the overly-formal "To whom it may concern"!

No offense, homie. That mech is just goofy. It's most dangerous weapon is it's speed.
I think the best IMO version of it was Jeremiah Rose's. The one with the LRM 20 and med pulses.

also i would point out that if i took any of the serious charger builds there is no way janitor would let me run it. i am going to try to modify it after the first fight. going to have 4 of my small lasers take damage and replace them with 2 flamers. my mech will be able to do flaming punches

i have, however, painted myself into a corner post-wise until he responds or starts a new thread for this mission, so for now TOG can't really offer any further comic relief.

EDIT: Thom, edit the armament on your mech to reflect the modifications you had to make.
If everyone couldn't tell, there is one last spot open. Thank you for signing up, I'll get the ball rolling ASAP, real life and being sick has gotten in the way of steady progress.

I'm a good friend of Sparks and fellow Aussie. Haven't been active on the forums much, but love my Battletech and been playing for a good long while.
It's been an age since I've done a post by post and this looked like a prime opportunity to get back into it.Was hoping to use a character concept I've been sitting on for a while.
If you'll have me, this setting looks like a load of fun!
First of all though, in terms of a suitable Mech for the setting, I was hoping to use a Raven 3L. A very, very poorly maintained 3L that is. No Narc, (subbed out for an SRM2) and a currently broken either ECM or BAP. TAG intact and otherwise standard engine and loadout. Mech is tied in with the character concept, but can re-jig.
Thoughts?

@Shepherd: welcome! just fair warning, i was going to bring a MON-66b originally, but Janitor pretty much told me that with all the tech2 stuff on it he would probably expect it to be a zombie at best by the time we wrap up... and the Mongoose 66b was basically a light 3L in terms of tech (it didn't have ECM, but BAP, DHS, FF, ES, XL engine were all in the mix). you can see our interaction back in the first and second pages of this thread, if that helps you decide on a 'Mech for your character sheet.
