The key facts everyone chooses to skip during their vitriolic rants is:
- The date of purchase being a few days before the quoted news item (or claimed email) before Open Beta that stated Open Beta meant no resets.
- The fact that a new player with days might not assimilate in a poorly organized website the specified detail regarding resets.
- The fact that it was apparently 3 days later than the sudden open beta (not 18 days) went live and would require someone to have figured all this out in that small window.

Most people who just default to assuming everyone else is stupid are usually only doing it for the plain fact that they are the stupid ones.

The Founders program closed for October 14th, and it is well documented on this site as well as multiple gaming sites. It should have been closed a full month prior to that, but they elected to extend it. During that time, it was widely discussed that all MC/CB/Stats would be reset at that time. The official Open Beta patch hit on the 29th amid much public coverage as well as updates to the UI and this site.

The patch notes were then posted here, emailed, hot linked in the launcher, and generally discussed adnausium for several weeks both before and after. There are no less than 329 results when searching this forum for "Final MC Reset".

Those are the facts.

So, please understand; my reading comprehension is very low in my household. You nailed that one of the head. I am exposed but am learning to live with my shame.

Given my learning disability, help me out. No time to read anything, got it. How should PGI have informed you of this situation prior to you hitting the button to spend MC?

Quite a few ways. Do you program User Interfaces often?

I like how you constantly avoid giving any better way to have informed you. Probably because all the ways they did inform people were sufficient and you know it. Cant be bothered to find out? You get what you deserve.

The date of what purchase? I assume you just purchased your founders package a few days before the email and news went out. Correct me if otherwise. So you must have gotten that email and had acces to the forums plus a working game launcher on which all those news were also linked.

Fair point, the forums were a mess back then. On the other hand there are search functions. And threads asking about the resets where litterally popping up every other hour in every other subforum. Even for someone new to the forums: If he gathered that there were MC resets during beta he had a hard time not gathering that resets would stop come open beta.

Again you aren't precise. What was 3 days later than the open beta start?? I am again assuming that this was when you went ahead and spent ALL your MC. So you noticed a BIG patch that day didn't you? The patchnotes for that patch also stated very clearly that NO MORE resets would happen from here on in. After that patch your Launcher would say: "Hey DUDE. Guess what? We're in open beta now!"

As I already said earlier and as you admitted. The fault is on your side only for ignoring just about ALL ways of communicting information to you PGI had at hand. You do not read emails. You do not read patchnotes, when a patch is downloaded by your launcher. You do not pay attention to your launcher. I bet you also wouldn't have answered the phone because of an unknown caller calling.

PGI used ALL means they had to inform you thus did all they had to do legally. There's no scam in there. Not refunding you now, almost 4 months later, is no scam either. It may be bad customer care, but that depends on how you approached them.

Something doesn't add up. If you DONATED money to PGI to gain Founder access to Closed Beta a few days before they went to Open Beta... how do you know about resets? The only reset you would have known and been part of would have been the announced Final Reset as them moved into Open Beta.

Be fanboys all you want; it was not plastered everywhere for a normal casual player waiting for standard opening to commence to see, and with a 3 day window between their general notice without a public meaning of that on login.. it's an obvious scam.

Life's a *****. Pay attention.

"multiple gaming sites" - Indeed. Let's add more reading to the list when enough time to read a poorly organized and buggy website is already a problem.

"October 14 was the end of the founders problem". October 14->October 26. Exactly my point.

"widely discussed" - I suppose I deserve everybodies insults for not joining in their tirades of conversation and discussion of 50 million things that were unimportant. I will endeavor to waste more of my time in the future.

"public coverage" - Yes.. it was all over the news and commercials.... Even my grandma was awaiting it.

You people really are lost in your own world and can't seem to accept the fact there are normal human beings out there that don't spend their lives in the games and just want to pop into them a few times a month and spend the rest of the time working, being with their families, or having other hobbies.

Welcome to the internet; where the uberz hate the noobz.

It's the fact their intent was quiet clear and underhanded.

This is actually the point of contention most of us have with your post. Their intent to mislead is not clear. I say this because they announced it dozens of times, and reiterated it again after the fact. They were very clear in their intent to let people know this was happening so they wouldn't spend their MC on foolish purchases. This is the opposite of the intent you are attributing to them. This is the confusion. Why do you keep stating they were malicious in this when they were obviously and logically the opposite and your situation was simply you not being observant and not them maliciously obfuscating the facts.

As near as I can tell, even if I got the email... I am being insulted by people for...
1. Not reading my email for 3-4 days.
2. Not checking a website or forum for 3-4 days.
3. Loging into a game and not reading the patch notes after a patch one day.

Wow. I wonder how many of these people get off their computer very often.

No, you are being insulted for being a jerk in this post and trying to pass your own mistakes off as malicious intent by another person or organization. Your incompetence does not equal malicious intent by PGI.

Here are the three behaviours on my part that caused me to spend MC on Nov 2nd without knowing "Open Beta" meant "no more resets one we're just Open".

1. Not reading my email for 3-4 days (assuming they even sent one; I didn't receive one.)
2. Not checking a website or forum for 3-4 days.
3. Loging into a game and not reading the patch notes after a patch one day (when they could have typed it on the launcher screen that there were no more resets.)

That about covers it. Pretty simple. Apparently, I am a raging stupid moron for this behavior. What a fool I am!

Three to four days?!?!?! They were telling people about no more resets after open beta for months.... If you didnt read the giant letters in the launcher saying its now open beta, thats your own fault dude.
Again, you arent saying how they should have informed you..... Must be trolling.

That must be the tweener fanboy dictionary....

Insult me all you want

easy there asshat, you're the one ranting and calling people names, and now you're upset that someone insulted you?

i hate to break it to you: YOU messed up, ignored the emails they sent you (by saying stupid sh*t like "all of the spam they send"), and now 4 months after the fact start bitching on the forums about it.

and now you're upset that no one gives any f*cks about your ignorant and lazy ways.

send a F*kin email to support. no one here cares about your plight. and quit obsessing over "tweeners", particularly since you're acting like some spoiled little 14 year old.

no one gives a sh*t that you didnt read the announcments and spent your MC stupidly. buy more and ST*U or quit the game, no one wants to hear some grownass man crying on the internet about his vidyagame munniez. Fine you think you were scammed, now GTFOver it already because no one in this forum gives a single solitary fu*k

maybe you could threaten to do a class action lawsuit to round out your ignorant and entitled rant!

You forgot Step 0.5. Drop big cash on game and then ignore all information about said game either before or after purchase

In regards to your carelessness with your money and where it goes and why, and your incredible detective work to just notice this four months later, I'd say your self-assessment may be fairly accurate.
