Climate Change = Buggest Lie in Human History

Your post = Whining on an high Level ( I want the Clans, and I want them now....)

Also as mentioned before, there is no March Deadline and nobody (that includes you) can Know what PGI has in Hands right now.

P.S.: In Soylent Green they knew there was no Plankton left - you know nothing...

THis reply is unrelated to this game.

but if you think climate change is a lie you are frankly insane.

Would you care to posit a mechanism for the warming climate, given the following facts we are in a solar miranda minimum meaning solar activity is at a low point for the next 20 years.

Sun spot activity which amounts to between 1-3% of solar activity is also at a low point and yet temperatures globally are raising.

The North pole is on it's last legs and the area will warm enormously once the summer ice is gone completely as the surface albedo (the amount of energy that is reflected out) is changed dramatically by the loss of white ice.

Knock on effect is going to be that the arctic region surges in temperature over the next decade or so, leading to a thawing permafrost releasing giga to terratonnes of methane destroying our climate as we know it, and we have jerks and ignorant buffoons proudly proclaiming the most ignorant and uninspired insipid nonsense with out spending even a few minutes to actually look into this properly.

But no obviously every single national science academy in the world is in on some vast global conspiracy to make money off environmentalism, because it's not like all the money isn't actually in big oil.... Oh wait.

True on all points - but how bloody fast would PGI be able to churn out maps if they designed a good algorithm for it instead of crafting each map step by step? :D

The problem is technical feasibility though. Yes, it would be awesome. I absolutely agree. I just don't see it as truly workable is all.

One thing that worries me, and this is pure speculation on my part so feel free to just disregard, is that, we haven't had an ISN news update in a while.

No big deal though right? It's not like they really add anything to the game.

Well, everyone speaks as if under the assumption that the time line is still progressing 1:1.

But what's to stop PGI from coming out and saying "no ISN update, that means the timeline hasn't progressed, we're still perpetually in February 11th, 3050" and delaying the clans indefinitely?

This is just pure conspiracy on my part though.

all i hear in this long winded post is a bunch of crying because clan mechs aren't here NOW. the game is still in beta, they can do whatever the **** they like.

there is no MARCH DEADLINE, full invasion doesn't happen until august, only a couple small forces attacked in march.
Well, in March and April 35 worlds of the Inner Sphere had fallen to the invading Clans, amongst them two worlds with units stationed on them, in which the heirs of the two mightiest nations are serving, nearly killing them both. Not counting the 22 worlds in the Periphery the Clans conquered prior to that, fighting units like the Kell Hounds and capturing the only son of legendary Mechwarrior Morgan Kell, an uncle to the Archon of the Lyran Commonwealth. So, clearly, almost no attention is drawn to the happenings in these times and the real invasion only starts in August. Two months after Rasalhague, the capital of one of the Inner Sphere's nations, and 51 other worlds, fell to the Clans. Sure, nothing to see here until August, move on...

Actually, now that I re-read your last post, I guess what you're proposing is a tool for procedural map generation at design time rather than at run-time? i.e. PGI would use this tool to procedurally generate maps to be released as static maps but because they could be procedurally generated, they'd take less time to produce?

If that is indeed the case, then I'd say something like that MIGHT work, but you'd be diverting resources in the short-term. That means we might not get more maps for a while, but faster maps later. Even so, I'd think you'd end up with functionally inferior map designs unless they retouched them somehow. As such, you'd really need some better means of map selection. Otherwise, you might spend all your time playing on inferior maps.

Not really, it's a pretty even split at the moment really.

Unless of course you count guys who have legitimately not read the post and say Climate Change doesn't exist belong in the disagreement camp.

I THINK THE DEGREE OF SCRUTINY APPLIED TO THIS MERE SPECULATION IS ABSURD. THIS IS A DEBATE ABOUT THE UNKNOWN. ABOUT A KNOWN UNKNOWN, THE FUTURE OF THE GAME. IT WILL END. SOONER THAN YOU WOULD LIKE. BASED ON THE PERFORMANCE AND HISTORY OF THE COMPANY, FROM SIMPLE DEDUCTION ANY PERSON COULD REACH THE CONCLUSIONS NORRIS HAVE POSTED.

THOSE OF YOU WHO ARGUE OTHERWISE ARE IGNORANT. DO NOT SHIELD YOURSELF FROM THE TRUTH, DO NOT HOPE FOR A BETTER TOMORROW. TAKE SOLACE IN THAT YOUR PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED AND WE HAVE ANY NEW MECHWARRIOR GAMES, BUT DO NOT BLINDLY BELIEVE THAT THIS IS THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD.

IT IS NOT, IT IS FLAWED, IT IS STILL IN BETA, IT IS FAR FROM PERFECT. ISSUES MUST BE ADDRESSED AND IF ANYONE FAILS TO EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE ARE ANY FLAWS AT ALL ARE JUST STUPID. FROM THE DECISIONS OF THE DEVELOPERS AND THEIR PUBLISHER, ON THE COURSE OF THE GAME'S DEVELOPMENT, TO THE BALANCE, AND TO EVERY OTHER ASPECT OF THE GAME ITSELF. DO NOT DEFEND THIS, BE CRITICAL OF THEM, SCRUTINIZE, MAKE THEM REALIZE THEIR PERFORMANCE IS SUB-PAR AND MAKE THEM FIX IT.

Hey Rather Dashing... could you use a larger font as well as all upper case. Some people may have difficulties reading it.

Once again who in this thread is part of the PGI team and attend each one of the design and develope meetings? I bet 99.9% of you are not employed by PGI. The people at PGI are only human, and it is smart of them not to tell us everything they are doing each moment of the day.

TL;DR - Just relax, breath, and stop bloviating.

The game being fine now does not mean it will be fine in the wake of a four month content drought.

Please, read the post, I encourage you to educated yourself on the reality of what is actually occurring here.

Right now your words read to me like a man who is denying Climate Change. It is inevitable.

What makes you think there will be 4 months without any new mech's?

Did you ever think that the reduction to 1 a month on new mechs may be because they are working on the omni's behind the scene's so they can release at least 4 at once?

You don't have a timeline from PGI You don't know their plans and until they release something to support your claims of doom and gloom ****.
