State Rewind Makes It Worse...

JENNER JR7-D 10 5 5 1.00 16 4 4.00 4,188 6,609 3,621
I'm pretty okay with host state rewind tbh.
my jenner kicks the living hell out of mechs now when I aim for their Rear ct and it actually damn well hits the rear instead of the side torso and the arms..
so no yea this pretty much how it should be.

I'm not too afraid of that, considering we are currently running under engine caps.

I remember the good old days back in closed beta when I would dominate in my jenner, staying to the edge of brawls, always being careful where other mechs are so that I would not trip over, and always keeping an eye on where the terrain is so that if lrms come I can duck and hide.
I know ive gotten lazy and careless with my driving as many other have and knockdowns and better netcode and so on will be hard on me, but when it all falls into place it will be a good day.

I make a special point of hunting them now (ECM Ravens that is) to the exclusion of all else!
Is it detrimental to my team? Probably. Should I be focussing Instead on the enemy Atlas merrily coring my other teammates? Probably. Should I be firing at targets within my optimal range, instead of the ECM raven at 800m that I -might- be able to damage? PROBABLY. But you know.... Ravens.
I was going to add a quote about reaping a whirlwind or some such, but couldn't find it.

Many Australian players are having good results with state rewind.

I noticed myself taking A LOT more damage myself, but not as much as I was afraid I was going to take. Sure I got splatted a few games - coke can for armor will do that, and more than not my mech was a nice deep orange color at the end of the match. Still, my "last man on my team dance" in the middle of the enemy team, while ending in my death as expected, was about my normal blaze of glory survivability. I actually got a well done attaboy from the other team.
Things that enhance survivability:
1) No straight lines EVER. 2 sec in one direction is enough for a good sniper to take you out.
2) Adjust speed constantly. Makes it damn tough to gauss/ppc aim.
3) Total random directions when engaging. NEVER come around a building in a circle.
4) Jump jets. Use them. Love them. Feed bacon to them.
5) This is my mindset as a light: I am already dead as I walk into battle, and I cannot lose what is already gone. Each wound I sustain is one less injury for my comrades. Each hurt I inflict weakens my foes. I will make the enemy pay in blood and pain. Only through victory will I know life again.

oh I know, but in general I havent really had a problem driving any light mech since I started back in closed beta, the last patch before the 5th really killed my ability to play with the lag/twitchy aim problem but the 5th patch fixed that.
My ping sits around 240-280 depending on the time of the day, and whatever the number is it usually sits there and is stable, people can hit me and I can hit others.
God I just cant wait until lights are not easy mode anymore.

I will drive MORE lights when knockdown comes back. Maaaaan I miss those days. Being a light pilot was effing DANGEROUS. Such a thrill.
and those were the lights that put me on edge. Jenners pilots were feared for a reason then.

The past 6 games I got legged, disarmed and one-shot killed. These 6 games have been the shortest I ever played. Couldn't see it coming, death out of nowhere.
Something is definitely wrong.
No, I am not a 3L pilot. I play Spiders almost exclusively.
I think State rewind helped solve the problem with Lag shields, but it took us into another extreme.
imagine if they threw inthe Fefnir and Heavy gauss

I spectated a roll-turned-win on Frozen that made me an earlydays light pilot. Wispsy. In a Jenner. Last man standing. Seven kills. It was simply glorious gameplay. I will never be that good at this game but I will die trying.

This is what it is supposed to be like when you pilot a Light Mech.

When Wispsy claims your lives, he's not talking crap, he's just stating a fact.

Ahh the Whisper. Wispy rocks and is extremely dangerous. Finally saw him online last night and wanted to do a toe to toe but was cut off by some assaults on the way in looking for em and the game went south by a bad call on my part.Being Lance leader I take full responsibility for reading events wrong. Been a while since he and I had a row and was looking quite forward to it. Oh well maybe next time.

Lights still have a minor lag shield but it's been severely nerfed. Which is a good thing.

You mean he and his premade buddies? Never seen the man solo. Frankly he gets too much credit, he is just a coward.
Then you're missing out. He's an ace. Talk trash all you want, the guy can pilot like he's got a real neurohelmet.
And he's also a class act on the forums when he posts.

Missing out on what? I didn't make him play in a premade with the pugs. Hard to say if he can pilot or not because when ever he gets attacked he screams in teamspeak "HELP HELP IM BEING ATTACK QUICK GUYS HELP!!!!" and his buddies come in and focus you down. Ace move? Okay... the man is a coward.
