Stalkerr, an app like that would be pretty awesome. I'd love to be able to tinker with my 'Mech on the go from the phone like when I'm waiting in lines at the DMV or whatever.

I'm wondering if Artemis is not a mech or anything like that (why would they go to all this trouble for a simple mech reveal?)... what if it's a mobile app that allows us to interact in some really unique way with MWO? Like a mobile mech lab, inner sphere map, etc... all the meta-gaming pieces of MWO. Thoughts?

I love cookies.

Oh you mean thoughts on this maybe? It could easily be mech related, if the mech it were related to were that big of a deal. Mobile App might make sense, I was thinking possibly some form of social engine, browser based maybe (beyond what these forums cover). Other than that I'm not entirely sure, there's mechs, game mechanics, the game on the way...not sure what we don't know that could warrant this sort of attention. Because I want to play the thing now and everything else is irrelevant :(

Hey all... just had an interesting realization about this.

Has anyone else wondered why the image is sort of in its own little window?

Whatever Artemis is, I'm betting it's a major differentiator for MWO from other games of its ilk.

Great thinking man, would be nice even tho I dont use Cell Phones anymore heh.

What we are seeing, seems pretty obvious to me. In my opinion, this is one of those collage type images where they take many many tiny images, and use them sort of like colored pixels to create a larger image. (like this: Posted Image)

The light colored line is part of the actual image to be revealed, and we'll see more and more of it every day as they simply zoom out the overall picture. The reason we are seeing super distorted pixelated mech parts is because when you zoom waaaay in on a tiny image, thats what happens to it. The first image we saw was at max zoom, an it's slowing pulling out with the countdown.

What will be there when it's revealed is anybody's guess, but it looks to be a logo or symbol of some kind...could be anything with just that lightened curve to guess with though.

Picture 1:

Picture 3:

Notice how they look very similar to each other?
The have an overlapping region, at least before you deal with the lighted bits.
I stuck 'em together in Paint such that both lighted areas are shown: They are a perfect or near-perfect match. Here's the result so far:

The lineup isn't QUITE right because of my job in Paint, this isn't a masterpiece. But the edges _do_ fit.

EDIT:
I managed to fit the second (of three) pictures in as well. This one was trickier: I had to flip it on the X axis and stretch it out about 20%, because it has smaller boxes.

My speculation about the meaning of these pictures is that they are purely placeholder pictures, rather than an ARG we're expected to solve. Definitely fun to play with, though!

Um... the 6th of June has... implications in CBT.

ComStar/Word of Blake has some sort of holy day then...

ComStar's Primus Myndo Waterly die at 6th of June 3052. He was the planner of Operation Scorpion. You have a group of Word of Blake called 6th of June, too.

Artemis IV and V were Fire Control Systems. The pictures look like, well, I don't know mechs maybe? I don't think it would be a picture of a FCS. I like the idea of a mobile app platform like Stalkerr has guessed.

I keep going back to the Artemis IV and V being FCS's and trying to tie it in.

When you typically encrypt something, it is not just cut and jumbled. It is altered to a specific set of rules using a common base of values. In this case, the base set of values is obviously the released set of 'mech reveal artwork. Now it could possibly have pieces of something new but unless the process used to 'encrypt' it is known, there is no logical chance of piecing together a positive result. At least not until a majority of the 'decryption' is done and most of the 'replaced' values are resolved.

I think it is going to be another mech release. I'll go even farther and say that the mech will be a heavy. I'm feelin' like it's going to be the Flashman.

At least I hope it is. I love the Flashman.

Hmm, I think that instead of overlapping, we should consider just sticking those images together based on that bright line. Problem is that in the newest picture, the lines are two. ;)

Yea, I have to agree, I think the key is in the bright lines. Also it appears to me, the whole thing is just part of a bigger image slowly zooming out and showing a bigger area from picture to picture. This is supported by the fact that the "boxes" in the picture get smaller.
I wouldn't be surprised if the bright lines formed some kind of symbol or emblem in the final picture, with a background comprised of a mosaic of the yet revealed mechs.

I forget where, but one of these threads a member posted a gif of the images overlapping eachother (might be this thread...hard to tell there are so many atm). This gif was quite accurate and it appears each image overlapping the other or vice versa begins to reveal a much clearer image.

Well, there are definitely some parts of BattleMechs (a leg is clearly visible in the upper left section of the picture), and there is a big water splash (?). Also, on June 2nd some weird bright lines appeared, which makes the picture even harder to read...

In the PC gamer interview Bryan Ekman

Talks about the timeline and the coming of the clans.

He said it is already mentioned on the forums and twitter!

this from the PC gamer interview:

BE: Absolutely. So any date-time references that exist within the novels, so the time the clans first meet the Outbound Light, it’s going to be there. In fact, we’ve already referenced it. It’s already referenced in our Twitter feed that’s live right now, which is simulating what the players are going to experience once the game goes live.

A link to it is at the beginning of this site of the thread, and this was actually what made me think because there i first noticed the difference in size of the boxes.
I think you mean this picture, right?

As I said, it made me think in the first place, but I don't think it is correct, there are quite to much boxes that don't fit good enough imho, and also I am pretty sure the bright lines are of importance and can not be left out when trying to combine the pieces.
