I feel a bit let down and was really hoping for something related to game content.
*sigh*

And for curiosities sake I checked static.mwomercs.com ... no updated Comstar Console. It redirects to main site now, I was having fun poking at it's innards too =/

Its like listening to a bunch of spoiled, cheap brats..
I'm stoked.. this looks like a fantastic controller..
Too expensive for you? Then don't by it..
You can do it with what you already have.. ? Great then don't buy it..
I personally think its looks AWESOME and think about it a controller specifically made with MWO in mind.. That rocks !!
Only thing missing is integrated TrackIR for the mechs head movement.
Did everyone else miss..
1) Sliding throttle next to the keyboard..? I haven't seen that in a left hand keyboard.
2) The Display in the center of the battle map..? Tell me thats something you can find in another controller. (I hope it has a touch screen to give commands by.. that would ROCK)
3) That this was made by one of the best gaming peripheral companies ? I have had good luck with Razor mice..
4) That the guys at PGI, and Razor really thought this out specifically for the MWO crowd..?
Geez.. considering the investment in this.. I think they did a great job promoting it for E3.
So sorry some of you are disappointed it wasnt a Mech release, or something like that, but I figured it was going to be something different and BIG.. and thats what it was.

Sure, some of us wanted the Unseen (pretty damn impractical. You could expect numerous updates on that before we actually get them, the way the legal system works). Others wanted an open beta (which we were almost assured wouldn't happen when they 'surprise released' 500 more beta keys yesterday). Others were speculating on a stream of gameplay from E3 (which may still be possible).
You know what this says to me? PGI is looking at a number of ways to get everyone to take this game seriously. There's been expressed interest for MWO as an E-sport before and this is one of the things that helps legitimize it. Collaborating with a very well-known company (no matter how many of you don't like them), is nothing but a smart business move on PGI's part. They're just trying to draw attention to the game and there's no reason they should be faulted for that.
Proceed with your butthurt.

2.) It's a razer product. WITH A ******* MONITOR IN IT?! Not sure if i want another joystick.... or a new computer to play MWO on.... lets see where my money goes...
3.) We dont even have an actual production view yet? Not even a mockup of parts to be used? Any stats at all?
4.) What happens when it hits the average lifetime expectancy of razer products of a year and dies completely?
5.) Bet i could build this for half of whatever price they list it for.
6.) Couldn't we just have had mech 12?
7.) I got out of bed for this?
*sigh*
/me goes back to bed.

Actually, I have to take that back...there's one thing I bought from them that hasn't crapped out in 6-9 months, and that's the Black Widow Ultimate keyboard. I've only had it 14 months, but the only problem it had (intermittent key lighting) was solved by a firmware update, and the thing is still working beautifully.
If the keypad on that controller is made like this keyboard's keys, that much, at least, you can count on lasting (I think).

Not sure what it lacks in functionality for you, I was perfectly happy playing MechWarrior 3 with my old-school Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Pro, and that was certainly enough

The Razer Artemis has more functionality and even creates a certain immersion, having an auxiliary display. Definitely something I would want to try for MW:O.
But, you are right, it's probably rather expensive and at the very least its price will hold me back from buying it. Though who knows... if the fun and nerdgasm in MW:O is big enough, may be I'll find it worth at some point

looks cool! Can't wait to see it working.
Congrats PGI!
What is wrong with Saitek gear? The most comfortable and reliable stick and throttle I've ever owned was their evo. (I'll prob use it for mwo too due to it's rudder).
admittedly they aren't thrust master but thrust master have been known to make odd calls on stupidly high prices over cheap key components.

My Nostromo keypad runs for about 4 years, I try not to use my main keyboard at all when playing (not always possible, as I prefer complex games, but my left hand main position is Nostromo). No problems. It was branded Belkin when I bought it though (but the built-in ROM named "Razer Synapse").
And as the Nostromo has more keys than Artemis keypad and I also have Saitek X52 (though I doubt I will ever use it for MWO), I'm not interested in the decrypted schematics.

True, the controller that came with Steel Battalion was approximately 3/4 the cost of the package, ($150) and that was an absurdly huge 40+ function, dual joystick controller. A layout like that could probably be sold for far less than $500.
