It's kinda cool. But I don't think its worth the countdown. I thought it would be a pack of the next 5 mechs or something.

A gaming company show casing thier new game, and a peripheral company that spent a lot of time and money on a controller.

The countdown was obviously times with a unveiling at E3..

I can't believe all the whining..

Its like listening to a bunch of spoiled, cheap brats..

I'm stoked.. this looks like a fantastic controller..

Too expensive for you? Then don't by it..

You can do it with what you already have.. ? Great then don't buy it..

I personally think its looks AWESOME and think about it a controller specifically made with MWO in mind.. That rocks !!

Only thing missing is integrated TrackIR for the mechs head movement.

Did everyone else miss..

1) Sliding throttle next to the keyboard..? I haven't seen that in a left hand keyboard.

2) The Display in the center of the battle map..? Tell me thats something you can find in another controller. (I hope it has a touch screen to give commands by.. that would ROCK)

3) That this was made by one of the best gaming peripheral companies ? I have had good luck with Razor mice..

4) That the guys at PGI, and Razor really thought this out specifically for the MWO crowd..?

Geez.. considering the investment in this.. I think they did a great job promoting it for E3.

So sorry some of you are disappointed it wasnt a Mech release, or something like that, but I figured it was going to be something different and BIG.. and thats what it was.

and I'm sorry to disappoint you, it's a concept product. Judging by the majority of comments here I wouldn't be surprised if the product never sees the light of day. I laughed when you called us spoiled cheap brats too. Stay classy.

True, the controller that came with Steel Battalion was approximately 3/4 the cost of the package, ($150) and that was an absurdly huge 40+ function, dual joystick controller. A layout like that could probably be sold for far less than $500.

I hope so.. I think if its over $199 it will collect dust on the shelves. Under $199 and I'm first in line to buy it.

I love the concept...but I'm a little confused how the encrypted images provided any clues to this. They all just look like random art that is completely unrelated to Razer or the Artemis controller.

I wont say its not cool to see they actually made a nice Game Controller but, since I just bought my X52 Pro like 2 weeks ago, I wont be buying this one. If I would have known, maybe I would have waited and bought it but you know... I think PGI's Marketting might have dropped the ball on this one unfortunately

It looks pretty neat but...

1) I already have a HOTAS stick
2) With that display it's going to be expensive.

I would certaily like to get one but for the supposed price I think it's not worth it for only one game that supports it. Yes, it will probably have some programming tool but looking at the Logitech's G15 and the rest of the line they are not too useful either, just displaying the stuff already available on screen within the peripheral vision. After looking away from the screen will leave a need to reaquire all the data available and that might be bad in a tight situation. Even then it would be great for immersion but unfortunately it's probably out of my price range.

What is wrong with Saitek gear? The most comfortable and reliable stick and throttle I've ever owned was their evo. (I'll prob use it for mwo too due to it's rudder).

admittedly they aren't thrust master but thrust master have been known to make odd calls on stupidly high prices over cheap key components.

The worst drivers I have ever had to cope with, buggy software, and the only time I have ever had a BSOD on win7 when trying program the sticks.

I'm biased.. its been a terrible disappointment that my sticks crash my OS constantly.

Not sure what it lacks in functionality for you, I was perfectly happy playing MechWarrior 3 with my old-school Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Pro, and that was certainly enough ;).

The Razer Artemis has more functionality and even creates a certain immersion, having an auxiliary display. Definitely something I would want to try for MW:O.

But, you are right, it's probably rather expensive and at the very least its price will hold me back from buying it. Though who knows... if the fun and nerdgasm in MW:O is big enough, may be I'll find it worth at some point .

I'm still using that joystick heh, and just chiming in with others kinda dissapointed there was so much hype for a presumabely very expensive product tie in that quite possibly few of us will buy (who knows maybe I'm wrong and they will sell like hot pockets).

It was the overall tone of what a lot of people initially were saying.

It was like the time they opened up CafePress to let us buy GDC MWO T-shirts. Everyone complained about the price and how PGI was ripping them off, etc. etc.. and they pulled the product in less than an hour.

Fortunately I got mine in that window.

Some people just gotta hate..

I realize its concept.. just hope the same naysayers and haters don't ruin it for the rest of us that like it and this its cool.

I'm not sure anyone is saying that it isn't awesome. It looks pretty fantastic, honestly.

Pardon us for also being aware that it is probably very cost prohibited and a odd choice for a countdown. Pardon us, Community Masters.

If I had the room for it and the money for it I'd get it (and if they release a reversed, left handed version). But that's ok, I'm used to having to buy weird, cheap or neutral or reversible joysticks.

Actually, I have to take that back...there's one thing I bought from them that hasn't crapped out in 6-9 months, and that's the Black Widow Ultimate keyboard.  I've only had it 14 months, but the only problem it had (intermittent key lighting) was solved by a firmware update, and the thing is still working beautifully. If the keypad on that controller is made like this keyboard's keys, that much, at least, you can count on lasting (I think).
Yeah, the Keyboard... i've got a Lycosa, bought with the mouse last year in January with the Mamba...Keyboard ZQSD are still alive today, affter intense gaming as tank pilot on WOT.But the mouse ergonomic latex on the side are unsticked...I just pray for one thing:- An affordable controller- getting a new job...wait, that's 2 things !

It's a concept, so there won't be any "in use" footage.

This appeared (no, it's not Rick) :

I have nothing against the controller itself, but...

1st: I agree that the marketing side may have made a mistake by not showing us a lot sooner. People already found a setup for themselves.

2nd: The lack of real in-game news (well, maybe at 18:00 Greenwich time).

Yeah I've never been a fan of Razer hardware. I have two friends using mouse/keyboard from them, and neither piece made it 2 years. On the other hand, my Logitech G15 keyboard and G9 mouse have 4 and 2 years, respectively, and they just keep on ticking (I do need to replace the pads on my mouse though, to be fair). The Saitek keyboard I used was great, and in its price range would have been excellent, but I was given the G15 shortly after so I can't comment on its longevity.

As for joysticks: I've used Microsoft, Logitech, and Saitek joysticks, and I liked them all. Microsoft's were, oddly enough, the most comfortable, but my Logitech sticks NEVER had driver/button/detection issues, and the Saitek joysticks had more physical options for changing the shape or way the stick handles.

So the stick is a Razer... well, Razer is still a little stained in my mind for their "THIS WILL SAVE PC GAMING!!!111!!!!" campaign, but even if they weren't their stuff is just too shoddy. I don't think a stick from them will hold up.

Sorry to hear that, I've always just used the windows HID drivers so maybe that's where our experiences have been different. (which device did you use I'll be sure to avoid it ;-)
