Well, once they fix the splash damage issue in the April 2 patch, I have a feeling you are going to see A LOT fewer SplatCats, as they just won't be able to dish out the damage they currently are, and this will also affect LRM's, so that should take care of the Stalker LRM boats as well. My guess would be that they want to take their time, and implement the fix properly, as opposed to forcing some half-assed fixed in the next few days.

The other thing the devs can do, and this may come further down the road, is to specify hard points a little more. The A1, for instance, could have 2 SRM harpoints and 2 LRM hardpoints, instead of 4 missile hardpoints. Personally, I'll wait and see how the April 2 patch works out, as the problem will most likely rectify itself, when the SplatCat can't take down a mech in one or two volleys.

I don't know, 90 dmg alpha to the face will still kill just about everything in 2 shots

I'm actually starting to miss the "Shoot the cat's ears, L2P" whenever the A1 came up as unbalanced

Bad players are a bigger problem than any variant I have come across. I dont even run across many A-1's in a night. When you boat something it leaves you vulnerable to another so I say work on more maps and L2P = better game.

putting L2P in your argument/post doesn't really make people want to listen to you.

Play and enjoy the game guys, instead of nerfing this and that :)

It is easier done than said, if your mech build is ok with heat and have ok damage output, and engage it from a distance.

they wan't to enjoy them game, but certain builds that offer high risk low rewards (LRMs [mildly guilt here] SRM boats, most high alpha boats in general) tend to make it harder to enjoy the game when your matched up against them.

Don't face it :). If you don't have any intel about a splat cat incoming, then your team is doing a bad job relaying information

Less fear of LRM = more people will ignore incoming missiles warning and tank the missiles :)

Like it was when they were doing 1.7 damage as opposed to the OP 1.8 they do now

Yeah but I giggled the first time I ever tried a splatapult and caught a light in the blast.
It vaporized lol

And yet its a valid argument versus people who want to nerf LRMs

if you don't face it it'll kill you even faster through your rear armor XD I'm not trying to say they're invincible my C1 cat can kill them pretty quick at longer ranges, they're just a little too good at close range for the amount (or lack of) effort they take.

In some PUG matches i have with a good team( people who actually use the chat), when a splat cat shows up, we relay the information immediately, and that cat usually dead pretty quick.

I don't see how 0.1 dmg difference could change them all that much :) (especially if they fired en masse)

As long as they don't die in one salvo i guess, people will continue to ignore them :)

not at the moment as their bugged right now so wanting them nerfed/fixed is perfectly valid , and the only people who really complain about LRMs are the ones who have the misfortune of running into a stalker with 2LRM 20s and 2LRM 15s (in which case it is a tad rediculous) although anyone who complains about LRMs and doesnt carry an AMS doesn't really have the right to complain.

I'm ok with the fix for splash damage, but other things will stay the same :)

whilst I'm not all for nerfing something into oblivion I do think that having mediums get melted in one salvo is a bit rediculous (not to mention heavies, had my poor kitty turned to slag in one volley by an LRM stalker earlier q_q couldn't get back into cover because a comando glued itself to my butt)

good way to nerf an A1

1. shoot its HUGE ears off hits head
2. Focus fire his HUGE center torso
3. Side shoot its HUGE side torsos
4. Stop bitching and learn to shoot

To be fair, carrying an AMS in your scenario here would do very little.

Congratulations. Of the 70 missiles that are going to hit you, you just took out 5-7. You're safe now!

You'd be better off putting the AMS/ammo weight into a bigger engine to run away with,

Those LRM stalker, sometimes they do alot of damage, sometimes they don't. I actually exchanged LRM with one in my Stalker 3h 2 x LRM 20 Artemis, the other stalker had 2x LRM 20 + 2 x LRM 15. It died before me. This could be due to the splash damage issue.

huge side torsos what now? are we playing the same game because my kitty has never once hide its side torso blown off , I'd go as far as list it as one of the safest mechs to put an XL in.

Some guass kitty can do that type of precision shot, but still it is not very high chance to have your shoulder shot off.

The side torsos on Cats are not huge. The cockpit, however, is one of the easiest to focus in the game, and largely graphically represented (I'm looking at you here, Cataphract).

yes but if more people carried AMS LRMs would be less of a threat and if you're moving not all of the missles will connect anyways my pult only goes 68 ish and if I move laterally from the incoming missles a bunch of them crash into the ground.
