I have vids like poptarting, Jenner play, flanking, and brawling are all game plays. Luck is only small part of tourney

Use the known cycle times for each weapon-type and the weapon stats in your MWO profile on this website. Determine your accuracy with that weapon by finding the number of rounds fired compared to the number of rounds on target. So if you had 80 rounds hit out of a hundred rounds fired, your accuracy with that weapon is 80%. Next discover the amount of damage you deliver with that weapon by dividing the damage done with it by the number of rounds that hit. So if you hit with 2017 AC20 rounds for 38,945 damage the AC20 for you, the way you play, would be providing on average (varies by range)19.30838 damage per hit. Since an AC20 fires 2.5 times in ten seconds, its average damage in ten seconds for you would be 48.27095. Now multiply that by your accuracy percent, and multiply the result by the number of AC20 cannon you are firing (including this detail so you can calculate for multiple LRM tubes). Call that the weapon value (for my 64% accuracy a single AC20 is 30.89892). Compare all your weapon types and you will see your optimal load out for the way you pilot your mechs. Bottom line is you can improve your damage output best by improving your accuracy, whatever loadout you run, given you carry enough ammunition and stay alive on target.

Finding your optimal chassis is a similar exercise if you keep the same loadout long enough to analyse it. I use damage/match.

To have a 4500 score at the tournalment you need to make 225 point per match.

225 point are totaly possible. Most of the time for me it was 5 kills and 3 assist. + 825 of dammages. + survive and win obviously.

5x20 + 3x10 + 20 + 20 + 825/15 = 225

but to make this score you globaly have to found 5 or more noobs and for me its too luck to have. Some people who play ogame and fail 13 time to have a moon will understand me.

For a great tournalement developper need to introduce the duel mode !

I can't wait for their official clarification on the details of the OP. Based on the QQing in this thread there were some that were cheating by collusion to boost their scores and are afraid they will get banned. Standard for all online games folks, exploiting glitches in the game, especially during tournaments, can get you banned. We will see how PGI will decide to play things out. At the very least I hope this demonstrates that they need an integrated VOIP so that they can implement a anti-cheat program that will detect teamspeak and other voice program and programs that eliminate the visual fog and grit to give players advantages over others.

Kinda... you are 50/50 right on that... all these high score games require extreme survival and kiting. That's why I use XML 340 and trip ppcs. Most of the nubs die early. When my teammates die n I'm last one alive, usually there are 3-4 left to kill. Using my superior speed, I sperate the slower ones and try t kill off lights n medium first. Pretty much, if I miss, its over. They will get into my min range and hug me to death. So if I miss against a light or med, its pretty much over.you have to remember most of the times lights don't die till the end. Its very difficult when I run into those situation. Most of the times I end up dying. Remember that most of the surviving mechs are not usual nubs, hence why they survived to finish me off

Clearly the "honorable" opinion to have, correct?

I hear that. I find it so hard to watch any mech with decent speed decide to brawl in front of 3-4 heavy or assault mechs instead of separating them to take them out. Especially on maps that have good cover like Frozen City or River City. I had fun yesterday scaring the crap out of 3 heavies around their cap with my Jenner, they got me at the end but I made them work for it down to the last 2 minutes while I came out of it with something like 3 kills and over 1200 points of damage done. I suprised myself on that match but I got lazy towards the end and stopped being so random in my attack pattern.

I've seen it too, that's why I can't believe PGI's statement that none of the winners cheated.

I see some have been removed from the 1st place listings in the tournament rankings. One at least that I noticed.

This is good to hear.

One of our pilots made it to 3rd place in the Assault tournament through simple hard piloting (He was in 1st until the last hour) but the potential for cheating is still very, very likely.

That said these Tournaments need their own game mode anyway. The really short burst-tournaments I am convinced entirely were all cheating because quite frankly I do not think anyone could make the maximum number of kills in that span of time with PUGs at their back. When I attempted it we lost almost every game due to having a team of people who would make the Lemmings look like master strategists; hard to try to win an assist leader board if nobody on your team can make kills.

I've been glad to see these got discontinued for the longer-run ones at least and am glad if cheaters are being removed. I fear it will be almost impossible to track down sync drops, though, which is the main way people game this system.

Heck yes, but less and less lately. Longer range stuff is needed to stand a chance against the pop tarts and their English longbows.

I don't participate in the challenges put out by PGI, mainly because I am confused as to why they would only have single player challenges. I would love to see group challenges, as this is a team based game. For example best group of 2, or 4, or perhaps even 8. Register your team ahead of time and only drops with those folks count, that would be totally groovy. I assume that such a thing is possible.

If a spider can make 1300 dmg with one ER PPC, everything is possible.
