Is that an actual serious reply? Really??
If you or anyone you love is having an actual medical issue from using jumpjets in a video game then those responses are not only valid, but recommended by doctors. I see right now that the whole thing is just a ploy to try to get your beloved poptarts back. Otherwise you would understand that, not only should those items be on the list, they should likely be A) and B ). Either that or you and I have a very different idea of medical issues, where yours is more of an annoyance, and mine is more of an ailment.
Edit: I'm pretty sure in every video game manual I ever read, it said to stop playing and call a doctor immediately if i started to feel dizzy or nauseous. Perhaps you should stop playing and call a doctor.

*sigh*
It's not a medical issue, its how brains perceive virtual motion. Many people suffer from this effect, normally its triggered by a bad depth of field. Disharmonious visual effects, like over the top motion blur can trigger it in some people. Basically its the brain saying "hey wait, this doesn't match what the rest of my body is telling me!" and going out of balance as a result. I can give you links to explanations if you'd like, but I have a feeling you are just being a troll.
The only real solution is to move further back from the monitor, not exactly an option for most people on a PC game. If this was a console game, the effect would be less pronounced.

A fix was needed, certainly not this fix.
Pop tarting SHOULD be perfectly viable for medium and light mechs, hell its the defining characteristic of some mechs ( Blackjack, Spider ). It just shouldn't be pinpoint accurate.
The fix should not however cause me motion sickness in light mechs, they went wayyyyyyyy too far. Simply shaking the reticle ( and shaking it more for larger mechs ) would have accomplished the same thing without causing a portion of the community to literally get sick.
i understand that and i really feel for those guys that really get motion sickness out of this...but pls ask yourself this..there is already a fair amount of shaking in this game (continusly being hit by missiles and ballistics does cause a lot of shaking) and lots of sudden directional changes (faaster mechs, tosrso twisting, ect) but those things DID NOT affect anyone so far and now, suddenly half the freaking community is getting motion sickness!?
yes they may have gone a bit too far with it and some tweaking mey be needed, and will probably happen, but all in all it was a good change in the right direction...
i dont want poptartin completely gone.. im sure some will adapt and will continue to poptart..but this was too much and the game was becoming extremely boring...plus when most people get used to fire their weapons on the way down after they have disangaged their JJ you will probably see most of the motion sickness miraculously healed...

Oh it does make me feel ill and not want to jump jet which primarily used in brawls as i'm not a fan of ppc.
Highlander is probably my favorite mech & is pinpoint damage the real problem?
Games are supposed to be fun....

I also really like how half the people saying it makes them ill go on to describe how they cannot hit things.
Tell me more about how not being able to hit things with your lasers makes you ill.

They have an actual physical reaction and are trying to feed it back.
Personally the shaking is making me feel damn sick.
I do not use jets in anything bigger than 35 tons. I do not jump snipe and have no axe to grind in that respect.
In terms of game play the effect is really positive and I am happy with it.
In terms of wanting to throw up, it's not so positive.
As a serious suggestion and compromise, the shaking should be able to be disabled in the options.
HOWEVER, the weapon convergence randomization would be kept just as it is. People would not get any advantage in game play terms but could play without motion sickness.
Seriously, right now I am going to shelve all my jump jets until I see how this one plays out.
The best thing to do is not take jumpjets. TBH jumpjets are garbage in this game anyhow. You don't really jump, you just sort "scale" stuff for the most part, grinding your mech along terrain to get you places. Height is laughable, as is speed and really they just make you easier to hit.
I'd have to go with "thank you" for killing pop-tarts - now give us jumpjets that are actually useful for evading missiles & jumping places instead of the crap jumpjets we have now, that where btw always crap, and only came back when people discovered the jumpsniping meta. now, they are right back to "crap"

As to why, its duration and amount couple with the eye focusing on a central point ( the reticle ) while it is going on. The motion sickness isn't being caused by the motion, its being caused by the way it was applied. If the shaking from being hit lasted longer, and people were trying to aim while being hit, you would see the same result. That effect though is generally for just a second or two and not generally while aiming or focusing on a point. However, if someone sat beside you with a 4xac2 boat and chain fired into you for a minute while you were aiming, you would probably see a similar effect. Even then, I think the over all shake would still be less extreme.

1. Enormously increased leg damage caused by free-falling from more than 10 meters. Fuel reserves should be tuned with this in mind; mechs should be able to high enough to pancake (insta-death) if the pilot fails save fuel to modulate jump jets for landing. This should be enough of a concern to make piloting with jump jets a distraction.
2. Random reticle shake and subtle mech roll due to ground effects at low altitude (a big challenge that was only partially overcome by the STOL Harrier and F-35 development programs).
3. Smooth-ish flight at moderate-to-high altitudes (30-100 meters). Torso twisting in flight should result in slow, continuous (uncontrolled) rotation. Taking big hits in flight should nudge mech off course.
4. Shutdown due to overheating during flight should result in crippling damage or instant death on landing.

I don't think anyone was expecting this except you.

Dude, use brains
All poptarts theme is a result of the PGI 'good' PPC-heat and shot-speed balance. Nerf PCC shot speed and add some additional heat - thats all, poptarts will dissapear.
