Please, no cockpit shake. Its really horrible.

The crosshair shake that throws off your aim is wonderful, but the cockpit shake is horribly unpleasant.

Hell, double the crosshair/aim shake for all I care, but the cockpit shake makes jump jetting awful even when you're not trying to fire.

Yeah... video games never make people sick. :)

For the record, I dont get motionsickness in reallife either. Its only certain effects in video games that cause it for me. Or I suppose spinning rides at amusement parks... Certain games though ( as mentioned, Dead Island, Space Marine, original Doom and now MWO ) do cause me ( and thousands others ) to get motion sickness.

Hmm. Understood, even still - i feel a lot of folks are merely just saying it because they are sad that jump sniping sucks now.

In a few posts, you came across as reasonable and seemed to understand that some of us are having a legit and major problem as a result of this patch.

The rest of the time you basically sound like a childish [Richard].

I do understand and said that it shouldn't affect meds or lights as much and they should work on minimizing it's nausea effect...but some form of this must stay in the game. And call me names if you want but the genuine poptart tears that are being spilled are shiny and beautiful and irresistible!

I'm concerned about choosing what shakes it. Just jump jets? How about when a mech collides with another mech or with a building? How about when a mech takes a step? If it makes the ground shake it makes the mech shake. By that reason a jump jet should be a smoother target than walking, because you lose the ground impact from walking, plus you lose the uneven terrain. Shouldn't a light shake when an assault walks near it?

It just doesn't make sense to me how far out there you guys went with this. There was no middle ground, only what seems like full troll appeasement.

I can't play a game with a shaky reticule, I have chronic headaches and that kind of thing is a big trigger. Can we get at least a module to reduce it? Something? Anything? I would like to be able to play this game again.

Something I have yet to understand is...

If you get motion sick easily.... Why are you playing a piloting/mecha game? Why?

Because we don't get motion sickness / headaches in older MW games and we didn't get them in MWO prior to the last patch perhaps? Just a thought...

I generally hate jump jets anyways, but gave it a good solid go in testing grounds to see if I would experience the same motion sickness others did.

1) Cant say that I got motion sickness.
2) Can say that I did get a bit of a headache. I think this is because it is difficult to focus on a target while jumping now so I was straining my eyes.
3) I believe that JJ are still viable for lights and maneuvering in general.
4) I think the "miss" chance caused by jumping and shooting at the same time is spot on.

I do see how this could cause people to become sick, perhaps calm down the cockpit shake but increase the target reticle shake.

The thing is, the majority of people you are trolling, if you read their posts, arent complaining about poptarting being gone. The reticle movement alone vastly curbs the ability of poptarting. The additional visual shake just makes certain of us sick, with no further effect on poptarting.

So frankly, you are trolling the wrong people.

Absolutely...collisions and fall damage need to return as well.

You don't have too...simply stop using jumpjets.

I've been looking forward to this JJ shake but it is way way too much on the mediums and lights. The whole point of this was to nerf poptarts, mainly big PPC boats but now Jenners are only about half as useful as they used to be, the RVN-4X is pretty much the worst Mech in the game now and unplayable. I don't pilot one but I'm sure Spyder pilots are pissed-off too. JJs were probably the only edge that Blackjacks had over the other mediums but now they're useless.

Shake needs to be significantly reduced on the lights at least. I've sunk over $300 into this game I really don't want to walk away now.

so far there have been lots of complaints about it, but some people just simply refuse to believe it.
less than a handful reported no problems at all, they clearly seem to be the minority here.

I have to imagine a great many of the people that hate poptarts with a passion, dont run jump jets and havent actually seen the result. Even people that arent being made noxious by this change are commenting it gives them a bit of a headache.

Obviously it isn't a problem that effects everyone, but from the responses to date, its obvious that it is a problem.

What was so bad about "poptarting"? I never heard a single person complain about it in all my games. If anything it gives a free "poptarget" for pilots to shoot at, especially those big Highlanders. It keeps pilots on their toes, expecting a shot to come from anywhere at anytime, not just horizontally but also vertically. I miss the smooth realistic physics of the CryEngine 3. The shake is so unrealistic, it is the same shake all the time no matter what. It is suppose to be way in the future so if anything Gyros would be smoother and more accurate, not less accurate and shaking. Also this doesn't even fix the so called "poptart problem", everyone says you can still poptart. So the only thing this did was make a fun experience into a nauseating annoyance.

The changes should come as no surprise to anyone. PGI has been and continues to be one of the worst software development companies. They prove patch after patch they have no concept of how to make proper adjustments to their game without trashing it in the process. Something needed to be done for sure. And yes I have poptarded plenty, but they have effectively rendered every JJ mech worthless with JJ. Whether its jumping to fire or just jumping to position yourself on a hill to overlook to spot it is near impossible to do effectively. Jump sniping was never the issue, it has been and always will be weapon balance, convergence and hps. Sniping needs to be part of the game as it is what some people like to do. There should be a place for all play styles in the game or it will have a shorter shelf life than Mists of Panda Poop. I have seen complaints about 8 man Jump sniper teams. Well we have gone full circle and now we will be back to 1 light and 7 DDC's. Does that sound like a good solution. Now we can all just get in a circle and fire AC20's, mlsrs and tickle each other with our crappy Srm's. Welcome to 9 months ago.

Jump jets were the only thing that made any Blackjack builds other than the 1x useful. You give up 25km/h for jumpjets! Sadly that is the series of mech I am leveling up now, and I already elited the 1x ( since its the best one ), but now I have to struggle through two crap mechs that depend on jumpjets... without jumpjets!

only two times a games made me feel sick, when I first played sonic the hedgehog on master system when I was about 6, and more recently when I played fallout 3 due to everything being ******* gray.

The shake from jumpjets is much less than being the target of someone using ac2, ac5, uac5 or a combination of. If your getting "motion" sickness now, you were getting it before everytime someone shot at you so calling BS on that.

*edit*

also find it funny every poptart thinks their post deserves its own tread title :)

Assuming your assertion to be true (which I don't believe, but for the sake of argument I'll let you have it), I call this a good starting point...now let's back it off so that lights and meds are usable but jumpsniping in heavies or assaults is painful.

No one is saying it shouldn't be.
