Just please remove the screen shake. Good grief it's annoying, and unnecessary. Are your weapon's shaking or is your pilot having a seizure?

I do most of my drops solo and there was plenty of 4man poptart groups there too then there are the fun matches where there is more than one group of poptarts on a team..., being an 8man player or not should have nothing to do with this poptart/screenshake debate

FOR THE RECORD, HERE ARE MY VIEWS ON THE SUBJECT SO PEOPLE WILL STOP TRYING TO ARGUE WITH ME ABOUT THINGS I ALREADY AGREE WITH:
- OVERALL the new jump jet effects are good AND i like them.
- HOWEVER the VISUAL effect associated with them (screen shake) causes people discomfort and should probably go.
- ALL of the aiming penalties should stay.
To be fair I was commenting on how you called someone pathetic for not liking/handling screenshake and just said there was no need to talk like that, the rest of my post you quoted has nothing to do with quoting you, it just happens that was the next thing I was typing.
I know your views. I have been reading all the now 33 pages of this feedback thread, unlike others here who just randomly join and type anything and accuse others without reading their older posts here (just like how I have been accused of being a poptart lover repeatedly even though I have said nothing but wanting this fixed for because of nausea with my lights and spider)

You won't get a nice ride.
man that's an awful lot to lift just to try to justify why my crosshairs bounce around like an insane superball when I jumpjet now. I guess no one in the BattleTech universe has ever tried to shoot someone while using JJs. It'd be a waste of ammo, a chance to shoot your lancemate in the back, or giving up your position with a laser light show, while exposing *** to the air for 1.5 seconds for a free hit.
It's a wonder these big damn robots work at all...
And I also get to wondering, if what some people think puts them at a disadvantage or is an OP guaranteed win is actually that at all, or just an inaccurate approximation of someone else's capabilities? People talk about facing whole teams of poptarts, I'm assuming on the long range ice and desert maps. They act like they were a deadly and game breaking cheese. I think it was a mix of frustrated people playing follow the leader with PopTart builds because everyone kept saying it was the only way to compete. Either build a boat, or ECM, or Poptart. And then get upset when that's all they see.
Now, PGI wants to keep people happy. So if they see a lot of angry people saying that Poptarting is threatening the game and they're going to quit, of course PGI is going to respond. And I don't blame them for trying new things. But I will blame the anti-Pop squad if this all ultimately goes pear shaped with an enduring negative change to the game when something else could have been done. Time will tell, and we will see
I played this game, probably too much. I mastered my Poptart3D, got tired of it, and kept it in the garage. It's a perfect, almost beautiful German design. I vow never to sell her. But she's just a good mech, not a cheat, not a monster, just 2ERPPC,1GAUSS, and hours of tweaking. And I get bored of staying in the back, so I'm always popsnipping your cockpit at maybe just 45 degrees away from your head, at short range. This nerf makes that almost impossible to do. It makes it hard to use any ballistic weapon, while lasers aren't affected nearly as much. If I ignore the reticle, and focus on the weapon indication box, I can kind of approximate where the torso will hit, but it's hardly worth trying, except out of stubborn resentment. You know, when I faced poppers, I just reacted like I was a Mechwarrior. Seek some damn cover, try to get close to them, and hit them from behind. Hopefully while my team mate assaults them from another angle. I would never have thought to just take them out of the game.

That just made me think, who's the genius that looked at a battlemech and thought "Here we have a 50 ft tall 100-ton fighting machine, carrying awesome firepower, capable of incredible speeds across all terrain, that can fight underwater and in space. What could possible make it better? I know! It's so obvious! Let's strap rockets to it." Sounds like a Kerbal Engineer to me. Did Jeb head up that project?

, I am rather immune to seizures and motion sickness but that made even me feel unpleasant!
I died in mid jump, that screen shake stayed on for the rest of the match while i was in spectator mode, that is a bug i am sure
Everything else is fine, crosshair shake, aiming penalties, just the damn visuals, if it made me feel a little funny, I know more than a few are going have seizures!

Ironic. A slight modification and your complaint now describes the poptart meta perfectly. Shoes on the other foot now, isn't it? Welcome to the wonderful world of balance.

Well it already had lasers, so obviously we need a jetpack for our 100 ton monster. If we know anything, it's giant, flying, laser shooting things are perfect in every way. Must be something in our ancestral history...
I ought try that Kerbal Space Program game out though.

Personally, I would like to see this:
Jumping assaults should have the shake INCREASED by about 25% (It's 90 tons of metal flying through the air!)
Heavys (Pults and Phracts) should leave it as is.
Meduiums (Trebs abd BJs) should reduce it by about 25%
Lights (Spiders and Jenners) should reduce by 50%
I really like the idea of making people that still want to poptart (and it's still perfectly possible) in 90T+ assault mechs even MORE sick.

cover is overpowered now? "How dare he use his rockets and then hide behind that hill? Why, I oughta run behind him and shoot him in the noggin"
you really oughta... and balance doesn't mean someone steps on your foot, so you demand he punch the next guy in the nose. You disliked the PT dynamic, you should have used tactics to defeat it. You being so happy about this nerf, actually calling it balance because you like it so much you want to marry it.... is frankly kind of disgusting. I hope I wasn't this way about Raven3Ls.

And this is the fallacious assumption that invalidates your whole argument. There is a chance either shot may hit...but there is definitely a modifier for the jumper who traded SA and mobility for less chance of a hit. But the ground based guy also has a harder shot at an airborne target. It's all tradeoffs. Like it should be.
Absolutely. Does the player on the ground have a fraction of a second advantage for an accurate shot? All else being equal, yes. But all else isn't equal. The player with jets can be coming from vectors non-jump equipped mechs can't come from. The jump jet player can have better situational awareness, and is able to more readily escape from a bad situation.
As it is now, aside from the headache inducing shake, I can still poptart fine. Unlike before, though, my Heavy Metal requires 4-5 jj's to do it effectively and its harder, which Is a good thing. It was too easy before and too advantageous.
the visual shake Is reduced, I'll be fine and still rocking the jj's.

from your point of view, as someone who appears to dislike jumpjets, and hates poptarting with a passion. I just detect a lot of bias, is all.
Balance isn't hitting jump jet usage in general to discourage poptarts. Which shouldn't be discouraged, they should be defeated. If a lance wants to let everyone know where they are so they can be flanked, and killed at close range, they should be able to do it. Poptarting shouldnt be considered as menacing as some(ahem) portray it.

Yep, guilty as charged. I am biased...biased against a game-breaking meta. I am for a balanced game.
Quote
Sure helped reduce it a lot, tho...didn't it?

Tell you what, let's introduce a weapon in the game that can reach the entire map and if I see you first it is a one shot kill, no questions asked. In fact, if I just hover my cursor over you first, you die. If it is in the game it can't be a broken meta, right? Even if everyone is exploiting it and using the <redacted>-bots we all know are available for the game. So you just have to figure a way to defeat it ,right...because we can't discourage it, right?
Seriously...at this point you have pretty much confirmed you are a poptarder who lost their easy mode. Cry me a river. The meta has changed. Deal with it.

I know...that is why I am debating all the crying poptarter mob who are trying to eliminate this fix! So glad you understand...
