would love to see ECM on a heavy...

THIS.....
THIS could be the one and only saving grace of the quickdraw, as it DOES in fact have an ECM variant... JJ,ECM, energy, I'd buy that <as long as it wasnt exclusive hero version only>

sized hard points. Just sayin. No more PPCs crammed in medium laser slots. Problem solved. (unless slow mechs with 6 medium lasers scare you?)

So much this. Hard points should be small/medium/large sized.

For example:

Small ballistic hardpoint = Machingun and AC2

Medium ballistic hardpoint = AC5, UAC5, AC10 and LBX10

Large ballistic hardpoint = AC20.

what you dont like AC/20 ravens? LoL
I have made a spider that has an LBX and one that has an AC/10 though =/ but id give them up in an instant for balance for sure... they were just toys anyways.

Actually, Alex (the guy who does MWO's art) said that the reason is because he was merely scheduled to work on the QD before the Orion (i.e. he's just taking orders).

He also claimed that Bryan's reason overlapped with his and that they are just different perspectives on the same thing, although I think that part is still fishy. Bryan could not have possibly known what the metagame would be right now when he set the mech schedule however many months ago.

It's also fishy since they said the Orion has been "pushed back" - meaning it WAS slated for this cycle, i.e. June.

But but but the Orion is a Marik heavy! So that explanation doesn't hold water either! ;)
Well I guess they didn't want Marik to have the most awesomest of the heavies (at 75 tons) :)? Mariks are pretty bland and milquetoast in the novels, IIRC... so they're just being true to the canon!

(Seriously, the sum total of Marik involvement that I can recall consists of there being a sick heir who got replaced by a female body double. Aside from that, they were just sort of there. Also something about the Jihad and Thomas being replaced, I stopped caring around then :)).

Ya it was.

Hey Devs I have a great idea! Release all of the cool mechs you have ready or almost ready ASAP, and release mechs like the Flea and Quickdraw whenever you feel like it (never is fine too!)

While I wouldn't mind them releasing the art they have ready, if you interfere in any way, shape, or form with me getting my Flea, I will go medieval on your behind :)

While I do agree that you have, in the past, altered release order slightly, you have never rolled out an un-announced mech. You blindsided your community - again - and continue to eat up good will for no reason at all.

Seriously...........comments like these make me wonder whether many of the mechwarriors in here even have a life outside their mom's basement.

I find it hard to to deflect all the stupidity trying to enter my brain from the complete childish hyperbole statements like this effuse.

Go outside and play for while. It will do you some good.

while i am not terribly dissapointed by the orion pushback (since i wasnt that excited about it)

i can definately understand why some people would be angry if a mech they were looking forward to for months suddenly got pushed back several more months.

personally i wanted the orion cuz it was like 10 thousand times cooler than the QD, the QD could be an ecm mech it would make sense and this wouldnt be the first time they tossed canon to the wind for the sake of game balance or w/e... ie guardian ecm is actually angel.. just sayin

Then again, we already have pinpoint aiming better than any TT Targeting Computer could provide ( for ex. aimed Headshots are possible), so it wouldn`t be much of a benefit if it was implemented. :)

i do so love the black and white tonnage means everything argument.
Hit boxes, hard points, quirks, twist, arm reflex and accel/deccel specs are all, of course, meaningless.

All those Cicada,Catapult and Jager Pilots should just hang it up I guess, since obviously they cannot compete in their own weight class.

Oh...wait a second......

Naw, it's not that simple. The mech classes have weights that hit sort of a sweet spot for loadout, armor, and speed. 75 tons, 55 tons, and 35 tons. 85 tons for assaults. In essence the Orion would carry about the same payload weight and armor as the Victor, or other 80 tonner, but go faster. Now the Victor could load on more weapons and armor, but will take a big hit in speed to get just a little bit more payload. Sort of like that.
