Alex, I seriously hope you get to go home every night and dive into the gigantic vault of Loonies PGI pays you for the masterpieces you produce. Well done again.

Not impressed, though still way better that original art from 80s. Just another one humanoid mech, but this one is kind of faceless.

P.S. Can anyone read those chinese characters on the left thigh?

Yeah 正午 is a fancy way of saying that the sun is
highest in the sky

Pretty much, but not exactly. Noon is 午 or 中午.
Which is why I said it's "fancy". If you want to be
technical though, noon (12pm) and the point where the sun is highest
in the sky are not the same because the day isn't
exactly 24 hrs long lol
But to simplify it you can call it noon if you want lol

I will probably play this mech, though I doubt it will have a meta-changing impact on the game.

I am really, really curious why they pushed back the Orion; I was very much looking forward to that.

They seem to be adopting a different approach than previously intended, and are releasing more low-in-tier weight chassis, such as the 60 ton Quickdraw and 80 ton Victory. They want to bring the weight meta down, not worsen it with heaviest-in-class mechs like the Orion.

I am fine with this, but I'm sure the Orion will come out sooner than later. They just felt the time wasn't right, imho.

Based on the two "reasons" we were given, the "meta change" reason and then, I believe it was Alex who said something on the lines, that quickdraw was next on his list to complete. I think someone goofed up the order internally when giving it to Alex to do the work and they didn't realize the error until it was too late. So they gave us the "meta" excuse which makes no sense at all. The 75T can't be avoided forever, it'll **** people off. It just won't happen, to leave it empty. In the case of the Flea they were very upfront and said the delay was due to MASC not being completed. The Orion they've been shifty and hush hush about, that tells me the screwed up and they know it but don't want to admit it.

Sooo I sure hope that the model shown here just looks big (( http://mwomercs.com/...uickdraw/qkd-4g )) cuz if its too big (height wise) then I fear it may have it rough xD

Fairly certain it's going to have it rough already :-\

With a max 360XL engine, it has roughly the same amount of tonnage available for weapons as a Trebuchet running a 300XL, for the same speed, while also having JJs that are twice as heavy as the Treb's. It will either be undergunned, too slow for it to have a purpose, or too hot.

Oh well. I'm still going to try to make it work, somehow.

Ugly ugly mech all around.

Should've sourced the design from the 4th edition cardboard cut out standup version of it.

Though that may be true, atleast its going to be better looking than the treb.
Then again... that does not say alot.

Here's the available variants based on the timeline: QKD-4G, QKD-4H, QKD-5A, QKD-5M, QKD-5K

QKD-4G - This is the Quickdraws primary stock variant. So this will definitely be in the game.

QKD-4H - This mech has the LRM10 removed and has extra medium lasers placed on the front.

"In an attempt to bring more direct firepower to the 'Mech, the 4H moves the SRM-4 launcher into the rear arc and moves the two rear-facing Medium Lasers into forward firing mounts. Otherwise, the 4H is identical to the 4G model. BV (1.0) = 1,006, BV (2.0) = 1,242[9]" (from Sarna)

QKD-5A - Similar to the 4H. Unless they choose to do hard point inflation we'll only be seeing one of these 2 variants. Probably this one.

"The 5A makes the Quickdraw a more effective close combat 'Mech. The LRM-10 launcher has been removed and in its place two more forward-firing Medium Lasers have been added, as well as extra heat sinks to help compensate for the increased heat load. BV (1.0) = 1,070, BV (2.0) = 1,196[10]"

QKD-5K - This is upgraded with Star League enhancements. Namely Ferro-fibrous armor and Endo Steel chassis. Otherwise it remains a copy of the 5A. Not sure if we will see this or the 5M.

"The 5K Quickdraw is upgraded using Star League technology. The 'Mech carries the same weaponry as the 5A model. The heat sinks have been upgraded to double heat sinks and the armor carried is Ferro-Fibrous armor, giving the 5K superior armor protection to the 5A model, with no added weight. BV (1.0) = 1,170, BV (2.0) = 1,265[8]"

QKD-5M - Again a refit of the 5A. This time with Ferro-Fibrous, Double Heat Sinks and C.A.S.E. While this does come with DHS it doesn't change the hard points at all.

"Another basic upgrade of the Quickdraw utilizing Star League technology, the 5M replaces the SRM-4 launcher with a one-shot Hovertec SRM-4 Launcher. The armor has been upgraded to Kallon FWL Special Ferro-Fibrous and the 'Mech uses double heat sinks for better heat dissipation capabilities. The 'Mech has also had CASE added to protect against ammunition explosions. BV (1.0) = 1,142, BV (2.0) = 1,237[11]"

So I'm not entirely sure which variants we'll see.

So they finally made the page for the Quickdraw and we know which variants we're getting. I was also mistaken about the 4H model as it does not have it's LRM10 removed. It instead has 2 additional energy hard points compared to the 4G. And we're getting the LosTech 5K instead of the 5M.

I believe that the real reason that the Orion was pushed back for the Quickdraw, is because the Quickdraw uses nearly the same model as the Highlander, so it was probably much easier to get done.

I also like curves... Raven, what happened to your beatiful shape?.... but it's really the last thing the game needs.

It is already poblematic in the optimalisation department and curves are certainly not very kind to a PC.

Probably more energy hardpoints in the arms for one (to offset the 5K having more energy hardpoints in the torsos) and more missile hardpoints for the other...? :)

Or perhaps more missile hardpoints for one and ECM for the other. :(
