As someone said earlier the point of bundles of ascending cost is to provide the smallest bundle with value, but have an increasing amount of value per level of price.

This bundle only provides value at 80$, so people who are willing to only spend 20-40$ at a time are alienated from this bundle. It's a shame because I want to spend money for some phoenix mechs, but I can't reasonably justify 20 because Locust seems like such a bad mech. I also can't justify 40 because of how much I'll spend on a locust to get a Shadow Hawk.

Instead PGI gets no money and I'm gonna spend it on another F2P or on steam sales.

im with you...thats $20 more to spend on steam summer sales...no clue why they wont let you choose...that locust looks awful...especially with the almost complete lack of the promised "role-warfare"

I would like to point out that if they had picked a Light that, even if it wasn't competitive, could be viable in play that I would have already pre ordered a 40$ pack.

At the time the founders packs were being offered the game had yet to be in a place where it was being tested. As we got to test for more than 6months before open beta began no not pissed. We also got some MC to make a big dent in things we really wanted.

If this price point is correct, it SHOULD get some folks to say hey that's not much more than I would pay in 6months on an MMO. I can do this.

I am not really worried about the price. It seems as reasonable or unreasonable as all the prices.

What annoys me a bit is that Hero Mechs get a +30 % bonus to C-Bill income, and this new package, which is basically just a Founder's Mark II, also gives mechs with 30 % bonus... But Founder's are still at 25 %. Why is that?

Can you actually care abut a 5% difference? I wish I had so much passion!

I noticed that some mentioned that the Project was P2W in some threads so I started a post in Upcoming Features, but I thought I should share the post here too in the official feedback thread.

"I said... said:

By my understanding, like the Founder's mechs, Project Phoenix mechs are just the base varients with Cbill and Loyalty points boosts. This is actually what PGI advertised when selling the Founders mechs, they said that they would only be selling convenience and all equipement in game will be available to paying and free players alike. This is what sold me on the Founders program and why for some strange reason my credit card seems to end up just sitting on the edge of my keyboard when I pull up the Project Phoenix page.[/font']

The only thing that is somewhat P2W is the Hero mechs offered by PGI and only in the case that these mechs offer unique hardpoint options that are not available within the same chasis. This is where I feel that PGI broke from their promise that all in game equipement would be available to all for free. However IF (notice the emphasis) PGI limits themselves to a minor pay wall infraction as this, they are doing good compared to the rest of the F2Play market and I might just buy that $80 package on top of my $120 Founders and $80 Founders that I bought for my son. I'm just waiting to see how the Battlemaster looks like and I hope PGI releases info on Community Warfare so that us more reluctant spenders can make a more informed decision.

Note that before MWO, I have never spent more than $60 on a game much less buying more and more from a microtransaction based game.

Hey PGI, could we also find out what the standard variants we get in the package will be? Telling us which ones we will get (even without the level of detail given for the reveals of the Phoenix variants) would make me a much happier camper. In particular, I would like to be able to go to sarna to find out if the variants you are giving us have any of the star-league tech upgrades (xl, dhs, endo, FF).

On a side note, giving us the variants which already have many of the upgrades built in would be a really nice touch, as it would allow your paying customers to avoid a lot of grinding. [for the trolls-this is NOT p2w. The stated purpose of the real money options in this game are to save some time in grinding, which is precisely what this package is doing. All the upgrades and all these variants will be available as cbill pay options as well]

I really don't care about the C-Bills but more the loyalty points!

I think all Founders AND Hero mechs should be retro fitted to have Loyalty point rewards, even if they are not as high as the Phoenix values, they should get something. Introducing a new mechanic and not retro-fitting it to older (similar) purchased mechs is not reasonable.

Especially if LP becomes a priority, because people will stop playing the older hero mechs, but maybe that is what they want, then they can release NEW hero mechs with LP being the only difference.

PGI continues to maintain radio silence! I wonder if someone higher up ordered silence until a super special information post could be made by the authorities.

half of mechs from this offer probably drag their arms over ground (like HGN), engines are made in China, ELO is in fact Commodore 64k, Betty is run by Spectrum ZX81.....

Gambling with real money ppl....skip it, boycott PGI, wait for Alpha Release of MWO and then decide what to buy. We already made them millionaires... I believe, each time they are trippin' to buy new car or to pay for vacation on Hawai....BOOOM, there it is, new special offer, once in life opportunity...only 80-90 bucks....no way, not this time PGI, not even for a bag of candies!

Yes, because these "$80-$90" offers come around so damn often...

I am thrilled by this offering.
I'm a pretty stingy ******* and have so far only spend $30 in this game. As in real life, I'm constantly waiting for the great deals. Yet, I can't deny that I love the Mechwarrior franchise and as such, understand my "obligation" to support if if I want to be a part of it. Without taxes, there would be no roads or health care, with out registration fee's there would be no organized recreational activities... just about everything we enjoy doing in life will cost money and I can't understand how so many people here seem to think that PGI should operate as a charitable organization... I'm sick of the term "cash grab".
Now, aside from the great value of this package which has been quantified a few times already, there is the aspect of gameplay returns... Yes, with my Overlord package I recieve 3 of each varient... no more purchases necessary to take on the challenge of mastering each one. I'm set for a very long time and am looking forward to the next few months. :(

Please don't put the gigantic shoulderpads on the thunderbolt. In a normal game, that'd be armor or some cosmetic you can shoot off, but in MWO, that's a bigger hitbox, which is a handicap to an already big mech.

If I cared enough for it, I'd have made up multiple threads on it by now. I might be motivated enough to make a single one... OR maybe ask about in the ATD. But in terms of "this concerns me about MW:O", it's low on the totempole. But I could care less, definitely. For example, if someone brought up that MW:O doesn't work well with steering wheels...

So, I don't care enough to raise a real stink about it But it's not like I would be demanding special treatment for Founders here - just equal treatment.

I am unfortunately barely using my Founder Mechs anyway, and the only hero mechs I own are ****** mechs I shouldn't have bought.

But now that you mention 5 % being irrelevant. I can't think of a game system where 10 % bonus on anything becomes relevant, so I really question the value of it.

No, I have to correct that. I can think of game systems where 10 % is relevant. But I can't really believe the Loyalty Point System would be one. It sounds like it's just a specialized currency system for factions. Basically, 10 % Faction XP/C-Bills gain. Sounds... weak.

And since we're talking about such reward discrepancies.
Why do you have to drive a hero mech to get the 30 % bonus? Why can I not just upgrade any mech for MC to give me 30 % extra C-Bills? Is there any good reason why it's tied to a special mech? Or is it just because people would cry if they needed to spend 25 $ to upgrade their Stalker 9F to grant +30 % C-Blls if they don't also get a new skin with it, and PGI definitely doesn't want to sell it for less, because then the effort making heroes would be not worth it?

Hey, and this thread is now your fault and your fault alone, verybad.

The FAQ didn't answer the most important question.

How many Guass & PPC can you fit on each 'mech? Can you fit a PPC on a Locust?

:(

I don't think Jungle Rhino meant it as "bugs should never happen", but rather as "core parts of the system should already be bug-free when you let customers see your product".

And I wasn't necessarily disagreeing with him, it made me giggle because I've found myself staring at code for like 5min thinking "But it should be working" more times than I care to admit, usually pre-rubber ducking.

Laughing with him, not at him.
