Hey everyone!

We’ve identified some problems that were causing FPS drops, and also have some solutions. They are as follows:
  • Some ‘Mechs were creating more damage textures then needed.
  • Reduced the Glow and Damage texture masks for low and medium spec.
  • Added a way to turn off the Glow Damage in the Front End option screen.
    • With this off it will disable the glow damage you see when you shoot a ‘Mech, this can be an FPS gain for all specs.
EDIT: And we're LIVE!

Cheers,
The MechWarrior Online Team

I will always remeber tragedy that happened with April 2nd patch.
Since then - I stoped playinf lights and faster mediums.

But now I can forget that. As player who was constantly ***** and played at constant FPS of 10-15 and with 12v12 7-9 FPS all these months - I bless this hotfix
Im finally starting to see some yellow numbers (on FPS)
On therra therma i had maximum of 30 FPS.
I couldnt be more happier.
And there is still DX11 version to come

Good job.

He kind of has a point; Crysis 3 doesn't even support DX9.

Actually the SDK v3.4.5.6666 works perfectly fine inside DX9.0c and DX11 / 32bit or 64Bit OS'es
I have it running on XP 64Bit without issues.
Also people have written patches for the game to put back in the DX9.0c and DX10 support to run on XP/Vista.
The engine can handle it, if it is coded right.

Your solution to worsened performance by your game, is to ask us to shortchange our game experience?

Great hotfix guys! I was blessed enough to not lose any frames post patch, but I know quite a few who did.

I don't really pay attention to c-bills so no comment there. Just do your best and you shouldn't have to worry much about it.

You guys and galls are doing great and have my tiny bit of support!

You guys are doing a great job of being responsive.

While you haven't fixed the problem for me yet, I appreciate your technical support efforts.

I checked the box got instant fps increase and have not noticed any change in graphical quality...still can blow big stompy robots to bits, guess when you was brought up on the spectrum 48k graphics are not as important as game play.

Any chance of "smaller" queues?

8v8 small maps only / pug only ?

Would be great!

I did write the support ticket with dxdiag.

I hate to do it to you in particular PGI, but that's damn unprofessional. Fixed that.

EDIT: Just dropped one and got tourmaline.....so I got a 20-30 fps increase. I am impressed with that. Well done, and thank you.

The thing I don't understand: WoT (very high to medium run fine on 60 - 45 FPS)

BF3 all high -> runs fine.

Borderlands 2 all max (but AA only x2) -> 60FPS

Blacklight Retr. -> 60 FPS fine

MWO not fine -.-

Perhaps it was always too much to begin with. It was too easy to just play a few games and then buy very powerful hardware. Those mech chassis are supposed to be rare, Lostech, carefully maintained despite unavailability of parts. Handed down through generations of mech warrior families. But with CBills inflation reduced to nothing but foot notes to be sold off at a whim when short on mech bays.

Perhaps there should be a complete wipe at launch. XP/GXP to 0. All MC purchases reverted to MC. Perhaps keep the trophy/event cockpit items as mementos.

-Armin

Complete wipe on launch? That would likely lose them more than a few players. Revert MC purchases to MC credits? It would overpower the game. Imagine someone who put $200+ into the game over the course of the last year, $30 or so at a time. Suddenly they have all of that and the knowledge of which chassis / items they like to play and are useful, and which are not. They buy three of whichever chassis they prefer, purchase a ton of premium time, play for a week and whala, they are at the same level they were before, but now with an attitude because they had to do it over and a reminder of how much they spent.

Two things.

1) 64 bit executable. Only 10% of steam users are using a 32 bit OS. Obviously the majority of gamers have progressed beyond the 32 bit stage. This would help performance for most of us immensly and should be something that is done BEFORE full launch.

2) DX11. While not as common as a 64 bit OS I would hazard a guess that at least half of your community has DX 11 enabled cards and the cry engine 3 is very nice for things like that.

This fix doesn't really feel like a fix at all. It's basically them saying "fps problems well lower your graphics settings" This really didn't need a patch, just a forum post.

It helped some people.

Why do you complain?

Or couse they NEED to fix the core issues, but this is nice, at least the try and care!

Actually, I get similar FPS with Crysis 3 and MW:O. I imagine different engines are optimized differently, hence the frames difference.

They stated when Open Beta dropped that they would not be wiping anything again. At least not as far as mechs and whatnot go.

They have said that maybe they would wipe the pilot lab if/when they create more specialized trees.
