PGI should better simply cancel 3thd person view ; It makes immersion impossible, and gives imba advantage.

I wonder how that meeting went where they decided to skip the 1pv only queues.
I bet that discussion went well over Tim Hortons coffee and donuts.
Just imagine the look on the poor interns face when they gave him flame proof underwear and told him to post the announcements from the devs. Then finally told him to try to find a ray of sunshine in the firestorm to follow.

I suspect the phrase "Let them drive commandos" was spoken.

The only ray of sunshine is the line "It's working beautifully" and that particular ray came out of a place where the sun normally does not shine.

Some of me isn't surprised that they've back tracked on this as there has been a 'we know better than you guys' attitude since the get go. What I am surprised about is that PGI/IPG would break Canadian Law by implementing 1st and 3rd person view in the same game after saying they wouldn't. Surely they employ someone at PGI/IPG to check these things? False advertising and misrepresentation are not something the Canadians are keen on.
Part 2 section 17 of British Columbia's Sale of goods act may be of interest to one or two people. As a Company based in Vancouver B.C. PGI are probably familier with this but I've posted a link for all the rest of you folks out there.
http://www.bclaws.ca...ide/00_96410_01
And for those who don't want to read the link:
Sale by description
17 (1) In a contract for the sale or lease of goods by description, there is an implied condition that the goods must correspond with the description.
(2) If the sale or lease is by sample, as well as by description, it is not sufficient that the bulk of the goods correspond with the sample if the goods do not also correspond with the description.
Enough said?

The state of the current actively vocal community:
- 25% of the community is upset because 3PV is in the game at all, or needs heavy tweeking.
- Another 25% are upset because there is no hardcore mode, and a command chair post heavily suggesting the devs had a change of heart. Which brings into question PGI's integrity.
- 25% are neutral, or happy.
- The latter 25% are upset because of PGI's communication, more specifically scumbag such as this example:

Note: Content developers, we are not upset with you, we love you, and need you. Just the head of the totem pole has a disfigured face; ruining the remaining establishment.
The Game is still good and fun, don't get us wrong, but this current controversy needs to be properly addressed.

PGI, should, hire some proper PR people; then 2/3 of all the kaka-storm, nerd-rage, on this community wouldn't even exist. You people are really not that professional, consistent or coherent when it comes to these things, seriously.
Like i said earlier, failing to properly explain and present this product while not being able to maturely communicate with your clients is one vital reason why things have become this bitter.
Back to topic, regarding 3PV:
With 3PV, you can hide behind cliffs and take peeks at approaching targets making it easier for you reconsider your next move.
Torso/Legs twisting and moving around terrain is much easier and more intuitive in 3pv, making you more agile in your movements, compared to 1pv.
Hitting a target is easy in 3pv due to less blind spots, which allows you to perform more accurate maneuvers and successful focus aiming during a brawl, that was observed while using a Cicada to engage a Catapult.
In other words, its a broken feature, that should have been introduced earlier during development. At least earlier, there was room for the whole game's rules and mechanics to be engineered and focused on both modes. Now the game is 1pv focused and shoving 3pv into it makes it broken.
Potentially, some people will exploit 3PV, properly and they will excel at it, making 1pv dedicated players slight disadvantaged when engaged by a more agile and small opponent with 3pv mode on.
Also, my concern for 3pv, with its sudden introduction, is that it seems to be a 'cornerstone' for shifting this game from a tactical simulator into an arcade, brainless shooter.
