Constantly lying to your core community, making empty promises, refusing to communicate, not listening to what your playerbase wants, and sleazy business practices have killed many a game, and MWO may well be the next to fall.

Are you talking about PGI, or Blizzard? Or Origin? Or EA?

PGI doesn't have even a fraction of the resources of Blizzard or EA. Not to mention, at one point, Blizzard and EA made games that weren't total ****.

A much more accurate comparison might be Realtime Worlds, although even they had Crackdown to bolster their resume.

Every game maker changes the direction of the game. World of Warcraft alone had TONS of things they said they would never ever ever pinky-promise change, and then changed it later. The angst dwarfed anything you're seeing here over 3PV.

Sometimes they need to change the direction of the game to progress. It doesn't make it a lie. It's an attempt to make the game better for more people. We should be encouraging new developments and ideas like this. And admit it, their first stab at 3PV is nowhere near what you expected from games like WoT or previous versions of MW. A little bit of tweaking and it'll be fine. The crying will be limited to people who are doing it "just because".

Yawn not another lets save MWO or lets ask for Refunds crappola thread? You MR. OP and your followers here and at save mwo will not make a impact on the DEVS game design so play or leave the game im sure IGP/PGI really don't care. Posted Image

Hi Mr Wizz, I thought I would brave the fanbois and nauseatingly circular arguments this forum is famous for. And pop in to show my support for this endeavor.

I'll be honest with you mate. I don't know if an organised sync is the solution. But it surely can't hurt, and anything that might help the devs to understand that we represent a significant number of players is worth a shot. Give me a bit of warning, and I will get as many of the guys together as I can.

+1

Really summed my thoughts... I'm not fond of 3PV but some things need to be done sometimes.

But tell me... Isn't the OP a member of your Unit ? Could you not agree with him ?

Vague complaint is vague. I noticed that OP made the excuse that he did not have the time to outline his objections to the direction of the game, but if that was the case, he should have waited to post his saber rattling original nonsense post.

I may not agree with them but #savemwo at least outlines their complaints. I recommend Mr. Wizard take his ideas out of these forums and try to influence that group instead of trying to start his own based on......something he hasn't had the time to tell us yet.

<S>

Greetings everyone.

I wanted to take a few minutes and offer my thoughts here.

For those who do not know, I'm the Founding member of Death's Hand Brigade. I, with the help of more people than I have time to name, have managed to build an excellent place to enjoy Mechwarrior and other games together with my friends.

With that out of the way, as many of you can see from my post count, I don't post much. I prefer to read, listen, and watch, only speaking when I feel the need to offer my thoughts.

I make it a point to never speak for the entirety of the DHB. We have pilots spanning the globe, from the United States, Canada, Australia, England, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, and Turkey, just to name a few. I cannot in good conscience speak for everyone, as that is not my place and I do not want to say something that even one member of this unit would disagree with. Every member of the Brigade has a voice and that voice is valued and respected equally. What I say is not indicative of the unit as a whole, nor do I want anyone here to think I speak for all of DHB now. I merely keep the ship pointed in the direction and provide guidance to ensure all the elements of the Brigade work towards the same goal as we approach community warfare and the launch of MWO.

Having said all that, I will say the following as a player who has been in this game since the second round of Closed Beta Invites:

I do not disagree with Mista Whizzard's assessment, and agree with his stance. I endorse his effort, though I do not know that a mass sync-drop will be the best method to accomplish the goal that he, I, and many others wish to impart to the Development staff, I see no other alternative either.

For clarity, I endorse the efforts proposed by Mista Whizzard in the opening post of this thread.

I've been enjoying Battletech, and Mechwarrior, for more than half of my life. As a wide-eyed 12 year old I started playing Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries and have not looked back since. I've participated in the Online community of Mechwarrior since I was 15, watched the ebb and flow of the genre over the last fifteen years, and to be honest I'm happy to be able to play Mechwarrior again in any iteration. I want to keep playing it with my friends, the brothers and sisters (Yes, we have female players Posted Image ) in DHB and other friendly units such as ARMD, and many others.

I want to keep playing it, and I want it to be fun, and fair, and challenging every time I drop. That's why I love it, truth be told,=. I'm never quite 'good enough' in my own mind. I'm constantly trying to improve my gunnery, my maneuvering, my drop calling. That struggle to improve is why I'm hooked on the genre, that and I just love the history, lore, and feel of the Battletech Universe.

I want to trust the development team that has carried this game a very long way thus far, and whom I still hope can continue to do so despite their recent behavior.

I for one call for action in addition to the apology given by Russ Bullock. Please, PGI, add in the 1pv only queue, or Hardcore mode as it's known. Hotfix it in, and I think many people will see it as an act of good faith on your part. It would soothe a lot of anger, and be a step in the right direction.

I'll go ahead and close with this: Thank you, Mista Whizzard, for taking the initiative to do this. I'll do my best to support you when the time comes. Just let me know when, and where. Work permitting, I'll make efforts to be there.

<S> Thank you all. See you dirtside in the mean time.

As has been stated several times in this thread, and by Havoc as well just above, we're allowed to have differing opinions as long as we are respectful on how we express our differences. Even within DHB people fall all over the spectrum on the amount of outrage (or complete lack thereof) we have towards PGI and what they are doing. I fall under the satisfied portion, and others go all the way to demanding full refunds.

This is probably happening to every unit out there, even the ones that are claiming to talk for their entire unit. I'm willing to bet a number of Overlord packages have been purchased by Lowtax members since they released their manifesto just recently. And really, this whole scenario has been played out before, not just in MWO (remember ECM?), but in every single game ever made that had a forum.

Hi Richard. I think what you will find is that Mr Wizzard is not trying to write another complaint thread. He is talking more about trying to bridge the gap between PGI and its player base. So rather than type a great big post that details concerns and suggestions, he has aimed towards getting PGI's attention.. And this is because attempts to communicate with them previously have failed.

I can share with you that in his capacity as a tournament organiser, he has access to the combined perspective of several hundred players across half a dozen community groups. And his frustration is something we share. So please understand, we are not haters or here to make trouble. We all want to see this game succeed and thrive, and feel the need to share our perspective as community group leaders with the developers.

If you are completely happy with the game, thats great. But if you agree that PGI could be making better use of its mechwarrior fan-base, then by all means, help us get their attention.

I am also 100% behind this, not much more to be said other than that.

Well, except that I haven't logged in since patch day. And barring major direction changes, won't be until the mass sync drop.

What many people don't seem to realize is that at the end of the day, eloquently written out explanations of precisely why something isn't fun anymore or why you don't enjoy the game any more only help to convince others of what you yourself have felt for a while:

That the game isn't fun anymore for you. And if that's the case, then why are you playing?

I am holding out hope that will change, and willing to do anything that might have a chance of helping that happen, but until it does, plenty of other games out there to play with the friends I've made in this community.

I like this game. It's fun. I going to go play now with the other people who aren't just sitting on the forums complaining. 10 drops so far and haven't seen the same players twice so I don't think it's dying. To those of you posting endlessly about how terrible everything is, come play it's fun. Hope to see you on the battlefield.

You goof balls do know that games take time to make, right? Also you do know that there are between 30 and 40 people making this game, right? AND, you do know that the game isn't released yet....... right? Its a beta. Its a pretty awesome beta to boot. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to play. Want all kinds of new stuff, fully functional features, weapons that are more balanced? Wait for the game to launch B)

3 weeks till launch, will you be saying the same when they launch without/with pre game set up, lobbies, in game corp/faction tools, broken hit boxes/detection, balnced heat, broken AC/2 ghost heat and "alternative" ways to make cbills after the latest nerf? Since they pushed out 3PV before they did UI 2.0 really shows us where their priorities are.

I think he's suggesting that if you notice players steadily leaving to play other games, and teams pulling out of comps all around the world because they can't field enough players.. You should just say nothing and let it happen.

Man, launch day is going to be awesome!

People can finally stop using the "It's a beta!" excuse :D
