Then reason why I say yes to this is because the UI2.0 will most likely allow for a lobby system for people to create 12 vs 12 teams. Thus making 12 vs 12 more accessible. That's only if my assumption is correct. In that case Bryan is doing us a favour. Don't **** on it.

Not doing us any favors, easily the opposite. He is insulting my intelligence with his BS no win scenario pointless poll. We already took a poll, and it said NO TO 3PV!

At this point I wouldn't count on lobbies. They have given nothing concrete on them other then "we're working on it/U.I. 2.0" and we all know how that has been turning out.

Dude, He is doing us core fans a favour by not diluting 12 vs 12( The real competitive side of mwo) with 3pv. I will take it as a compromise and let the general average players have the 3pv on 4 mans.

Do you know that for sure? Have you seen it? Because if you haven't there's no reason to believe it's gonna be there. When was the last time you heard anything about lobbies? If they were going to have lobbies, couldn't they just make 1PV/3PV toggle-able from there? Just 'cause they might have said something about lobbies a while ago does not actually compel them to follow through. That is the lesson they've been trying to teach us...

I really want to play MWO but i spend more time on the forums waiting to see how much PGI don't want me to play their game, or buy anything...

In any game i have ever played, beta or otherwise, i've never seen a company so desperate to push away customers (except in SWG:NGE and we know how well that turned out)

I cant believe almost 700 people voted yes and are too blind to see the poll is spitting in the face of the rest of the community.

For some it is probably enough. It is what they want. For some, they may think, "Hey. At least PGI is making an effort to ask, so I will be nice make make an effort to answer". And yes, for some, we recognise it is a biased poll missing the real option that would win. The prior official polls on 3PV had thousands of votes. We'll see if this poll gets that far.

This. I would be far more amenable to this suggestion if we had any indication that it would become easier to organize/form 12 man teams. So far, we have not, unless the vague promise of "CW will be implemented someday" counts. Again, this suggestion is dependent on so many missing features that it simply isn't funny anymore. The dependencies for this suggestion to work are:

-In game VOIP
-In game lobbies
-UI 2.0
-CW
-Merc Corps formations
-Faction implementation

Without these, the entire suggestion may as be written out as, "Trololol we don't wanna give you real split queues, so have a distraction!" If these dependencies were in place and implemented, I would vote. As is, I feel there is insufficient information and no substitute for a real FPV/3PV split queue.

I'd like to take this opportunity to distance myself from a portion of the community. I've read most of the "feedback" from both these threads, and continually regurgitating "the lie" over and over again (more than 200 pages worth of the stuff) even after the mistake was apologized for, is not something I condone, support, endorse, in any way, shape or form.

It looks like you guys learned a very painful lesson about development. Any, and all communication is taken as gospel. People wonder why you can't talk at length about features in development, or give a date as to "when it's coming out," ha. This is why you don't, not even hints on twitter.

Anyway, here's some feedback on 3PV.

The premise I get, training wheels for new players. Now, when I had a look at 3PV, I noticed that the torso was clearly viable, but the legs were not. Even in 3PV, you could still encounter the problem of new players not knowing which direction their Mech is moving, simply because they cannot see the legs. It seems to be more prevalent on heavy Mechs.

Suggestion: A bit of tweaking of the camera angle for each individual Mech may be needed. Basically, you want the legs and torso to be clearly visible, so new players can say "I see, my Mech is moving into that wall," and "ok, the mouse rotates the top part only."

In the games I've played, I haven't been able to exploit 3PV, or seen someone else exploit it, but, going by the assumption that it is exploitable, I would offer the following suggestions.

Suggestion: Make the light on the camera blink, just to make it more visible to other players. Perhaps give it a light source?

Suggestion: More penalties for using 3PV, it's supposed to be training wheels after, there's a number of things you could do. You could give it a base heat penalty, you could make the crosshair bob more than it does, you could remove the targeting and player information panels, you could also tweak mech movement, twist and turning speeds slightly.

As for 1PV lock in 12v12 premades? Yeah, I suppose it couldn't hurt. I'm pretty sure players in premade groups will be using 1PV anyway.

Now, for 1PV lock in CW matches. It's still possible, that new players would download the game, then go straight into a CW match, and encounter the same problem. If that's the case, it might not be such a good idea to lock 1PV for CW matches.

@Soarra and RanikSelensky, I would like to suggest you add the dev suggestion to your poll, as it gives us something else to vote on, namely having mixed 1PV/3PV queues while having 12v12 FPV locked. That would not only allow us a split in the polls to see how we REALLY feel about the suggestion, but also to give the dev suggestion a shot and see if it's okay with the community.

Xen, to be honest, from what I hear, teams are already negotiating this themselves, so he really isn't offering us anything we don't already have.

Well, consider this a past suggestion from the future for something I never got to see! Similar to using verb tenses during time travel. Woo!

how's that even solves the problem ;)
if you have 12 man group that specifically want to play in 3PV - they're not allowed to

and what if you don't have 12 people to complete the group, but specifically want to play 1PV only - tough luck

this option makes no sense!

A game like this needs a lobby system. Jus for an example. some one wants to play 12 vs 12 and play coordinated. You start a group with in a lobby system, click a button, BAM advertised. but the simple fact is I don't know, then again how many people knew about the Phoenix project mechs or the addition Wolverine and griffin mechs. they aren't sharing info because why. People get angry over facts and its better to keep them guessing. All I can assume is right now, only way to communicate with people is in game and to add them on a friends list. Do you really think its going to stay his way. Would be the worst match making system ever.

It's 1am est I have been reading forums for an hour. I am deleting my vote because I agree that this is a trap question.

At first I was like yay they are listening. I didn't think all that hard about it, but this is clearly just a trap.

Proposal: Limit 12 v 12 pre-made group matches to 1PV only.
Release Date: Mid to Late September

Details: 12 man pre-made group matches will have 1PV enforced as the only useable view mode. Players will not be able to switch between 1PV and 3PV when playing in 12 v 12 pre-made match play.

This gives our core audience, who represent almost exclusively the 12 man team group play, a place to enjoy a pure 1PV experience.

The public queues will remain a mix of 1PV and 3PV modes and Hardcore mode will be removed from the drop down list. Future enhancements to the matchmaker will allow stricter tonnage limits, and encourage a more fair and level playing field for all MWO matches.

I voted yes, but I'm still not happy. Not all of us play in pre-made groups, and I'm supposed to be happy with this consolation prize? I want my separate queue. Scratch that I deleted my vote this feels underhanded and ****** me off more than the lie.

False. I never played 12 man / 8man group. I played as 4 man group/PUG and I always wanted to play 1PV pure experience simulator.

Thats why I didn't vote on this tricky pool. Its incomplete.

If your not happy with the choices presented then delete your vote. Try the unbiased poll being presented in peoples signatures.

True, but im worried people wont vote, then 12 vs 12 3pv is implemented because of nasty comments. Then a lobby system is implemented, then we have a firestorm over 12 vs 12 being 3pv. rather vote yes now and save 12 vs 12.
