Logged in to post, Brian.

Your game doesn't even have music yet. That is just an example of a BASIC feature that is missing from MWO. This is hardly a launch. Maybe you should consider posponing the "launch" until you have looked at a few other games to see how a launch is done.

Hint: Launch means new content. It means you are happy with where this game is at and ready to push it out into the world. But, even if you feel it is ready to be released, maybe you should consider how your current player base is going to react to a "launch", considering we have been on this journey with you for a year.

I like what you have so far, but I'm not going to play unless you show us some significant progress.

What is so special about this launch? Seems like just another patch.... Nothing fun or exciting .... I guess a lot to hopefully look forward to in the next few months.

Hopefully PGI realizes that it's faithful fans to deserve something for their years of loyalty

I like how the "launch" brings zero new features around and especially not anything people have been looking forward to like UIv2.

Oh wait, no I don't, because that's stupid.

Well, I'll say this... I was here at the beginning. Got in way too early and couldn't take it very long. I think my expectations exceeded the game as it was and I was disappointed.

It was my own fault - I had no business getting involved so early thinking the game would be done.

So I left... havent logged in since, and today I see that Game Informer posted that it finally got out of beta! So - this is a finished product now, lets see how much has changed! *crosses fingers*

I hope you crossed all your fingers and some toes.

Same game.... it even still says beta on the front page. ;)

Congratulations on the launch, guys.

Even the haters are buying and playing — they know it, you know it. Keep on producing.

You really think that all the founders complaining are still paying out money and playing? Cute.

I just installed the "launch day" patch...smh...why do you guys even tell your customer/fan base about upcoming improvements and fail to deliver. So...having an official launch for this title removes the complaint that it's still in Beta. That's all. Nothing else. You couldn't even give us private matchmaking to hold us over, quite a few of us are sick of dropping with randoms who don't have a clue. To me, this is the biggest "beta" aspect of the game. Now...you're playing with our money. I can't believe this...I mean I like this game a lot, but now you're abusing your customer loyalty. Unlaunch and do it again at a later date please.

Wow, at this point, it would just be like piling on..

OKAY

Fail.

Failingist Fails that ever Failed.

The best thing you have to offer in your launch patch is that you can now hold down backspace to remove characters in chat?

FFS, we wan't to love you. But you're like the disappointing child who keeps getting rides home in the squad car.

GET IT THE FRACK TOGETHER!

Not played the game for 2 months as board after playing for 5 months.
Waited for this day in anticipation and ................................................
.............................................................................................................
........................................what did I wait for???...................................
I had MW2 many years ago and 4 Mercenaries etc, I guess we all
expected to much of a small games developer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry PGI but if this is the best you can do then you wont see any of my money until there is a real game to play.

Thanks for your efforts and its been a blast until now ;)

I enjoyed the part where you ignored the fact that I used the word founder, you know all the people who helped "kickstart" during closed beta aka introduce more money after the original corporate backers.

So I'm watching the launch trailer and a couple of things jump out at me.

1) I noticed that PGI/IGP decided to turn off comments on the YouTube launch trailer. I don't blame them, wouldn't want perspective customers to read negative things about the game from the vocal minority (sarcasm) which might result in fewer sales. It's not a positive sign when you turn off the comments in a YouTube video, it's as if you have something to hide.

2) It amazes me how one can get gaming rags to give you vague favorable quotes for almost any game. "Experience massive mech combat" is followed by 20+ mechs in a line against 20+ mechs in another line. Not 12 v 12 mechs (which is what the game at launch can do) but 20+ v 20+. Both sides are shown to have 20+ mechs in game. Someone's fibbing just a tad no?

You mean founders like me, most who are still playing? I'm sure a big chunk of the remaining ones will be back when CW comes out.

Most excellent news. One important question I have.

Do you intend to include conventional wepons in the battles Tanks, infantry etc....similar to the pen and paper game?

It helps when they don't let you delete accounts. I had an alternate and they said they couldn't delete it for "legal reasons." They just renamed it to something generic.

...and directly above you, PharmEcis admits to spending $740 so far. Between the two of you, you're averaging $370 each. Isn't that neat?

In a subscription based game model, the casual gamers subsidize the game for the elite hardcore. In a free to play model, the hardcore gamers subsidize the game for everyone. In a free to play model, you're either a customer...or you're the content. You don't want to spend anything on a game you've been able to play for free? Great! Don't! You're still making them money just by logging in and giving folks like PharmEcis someone to shoot at.

You don't want to pay anything? Great! You're not a customer, though. You're the content. Remember that.
