Also to be fair, World of Tanks blows and I will never, ever play it because of two words.

Gold ammo.

Screw that game.
You can buy Gold Ammo for play-earnable currency now. They actually listened to their players.

Monkeys claim that MW:O players are somehow more strategic or methodical than a BF3 player is just ridiculous.. in every sense.. I've seen very little team tactics in MW:O, most of the time its 12 cowboys v 12 cowboys.. no organisation or strategy.. only difference is in one you're a soldier, the other you're in a mech..
Have you played in the glory-days of the 8-man game? There was some tight as hell tactical maneuvering going on back then, and some incredible work done crunching numbers to work out optimal team compositions by multiple independent groups.

I'm not sure it's really poisoning the well if someone else is already taking a leak in it.

Hint: That someone else isn't the same ones "poisoning" the well.

Well, I haven't heard of anyone dying while drinking pee. Poison, on the other hand ...

Polonium anyone. B)

so they didn't cry about no commander mode.. they didn't cry about hitboxes, or games crashes, or one sided and glitchy maps that allowed camping in obscure spots.... guess I was playing a different BF3, they bitched about the same stuff you guys are.. this is Déjà vu...

Monkeys claim that MW:O players are somehow more strategic or methodical than a BF3 player is just ridiculous.. in every sense.. Think about it from the other side.. would you give a woman the drinks you promised after a year if she continually abused and demanded said drinks.. I wouldnt.. I'd ignore here just like the devs are doing to you...

On top of that Man 2 would expect A LOT more in return for his 'date'..

so you're comparing apples and oranges.. a kiss goodnight is enough for Man 1, Man 2 however wants to do you in your mud hut after the dancing...

Most of you have received more than you've given.. and you still want more.. there's a word for that.. Ungrateful

Dunno about you but i wouldn't disrespect the woman by taking her to a meal and not providing a drink like i had said (thats called a lie) and secondly in expecting a trip to your so called mudhut. Guess some of us have integrity and manners.
Secondly you assume that Man1 and Man2 had different expectations, lets say both had the same expectations.
Then all we can assume is that Man1 is a liar and Man2 will go that bit further for his cause.

i'm sure this has been said many items. I've tested this game since June last year. Its made progress but isn't launch ready. Simple fact no inner sphere. you can't have the clans orthe clock start until you have the inner sphere. I've one of the few who played MPBT, way back in 93,94 and even then we had inner sphere. yet you claim the clans are coming but no inner sphere. Where do you get off saying this game is ready. if anything its only 50% complete. Look its simple. get the inner sphere working, factions, regiments, units, planets, resources, supply lines. Everything that makes Mech warrior. then you can say its launched. right now this is no more than battle tech arena.

I'm pretty sure you can put out fires with pee. I'm unsure about poison. :)

That wasn't the point... it doesn't help when both sides dump on each other when they don't have to.

Agreed. But, my original point still stands. There are people actively trying to ruin the game for others.

Which is why I said with CW, UI 2.0 and so on it would be a different game this is the main reason why everyone is confused why they would go officially to "launch" without these things.

Also with that launch email that was sent out with images automatically disabled it looks tacky.

Well at least PGI toned down rage on the forums.

Because I think they're dead.

I've had a post in several sub-forums that has remained the top post for over an hour. Two months ago they wouldn't have lasted a minute. This is close to the last active thread.

Ok, lol at 4 ratings. But from people that feel the need to rate a bass fishing game...that's got to count for something.

So for the sake of transparency and to compare apples to apples and not apples to oranges, below is a quick screen grab of two Mech games reviews on Metacritic

Mechwarrior Online:
Posted Image

Hawken:
Posted Image

And you can also see the amount of votes.

One thing is that MWO is a very hot topic at the moment.
And I did score the game @ 5/10 fyi.

MWO: 5.3 with nearly 700 user ratings. 0 critic reviews
Hawken: 7.0 with 70 user ratings. 7 critic reviews ~ 73 critic rating

Another thing that I like to point out concerning forum negativity: How much more likely are you going to rant rave and scream about something you dislike over something something you do like.

If you're ok with something a game does, you're probably not going to go on the forums and post pages about how much you think it's alright. However, if something upsets you, you're probably going to scream about it until someone changes it or you have an aneurysm or work yourself into a stroke. You're probably going to tell everyone you can about how much you dislike it too. And if you think your issue isn't being resolved, you're going to scream some more. You're going to evangelize your cause, try and get more people to speak up to agree with you, and if/when they don't you're going to argue with them, and when that doesn't work you're going to call them names. And if you get caught out that there's a lot of noise coming from a single (or a few) individual(s), you're probably going to make some dummy accounts to make it look like your issue is a bunch of other peoples issues. You're going to let it spiral out of control until it takes over your life and you start screaming for peoples jobs, their heads, making threats to burn things to the ground. You've let your 'passion' overwhelm you, and now it's personal. You may even become paranoid enough to think I'm talking about you. You won't rest until the world knows of your perceived injustice. And at the end of the day, this has become more than a game for you, it's become a Crusade.

But if you're not having issues, you're probably just going to go 'cool. whatevs' and move on, if you even bother to say anything at all.

This is why gaming forums (all of them) are inherently negative spaces. Sure some are less negative than others, but by their very nature they're a negativity magnet.

I was tempted to make a rating on Metacritic, but then I thought to myself: "What kind of sad excuse for a person relies on sites like this to make decisions about things? I know I never have, and I personally don't know anyone else that does either." <Also interesting is how many of these user ratings are first (and only) reviews (on all sides), and even when there are other reviews, the dates give away that they're still coming from new accounts, so it looks like not many people posting ratings have used this site much either>

I don't rely on game magazine reviews, and I've never let Siskel (RIP) or Ebert influence which movies I've watched, and it turns out that most of the time they were wrong anyway. Why would I find random internet people any more reliable? (Yes, that also means I don't rely on Rotten Tomatoes for movie decisions either)

Something to note is how Adhesive games is both developer and publisher. Perhaps they were able to concentrate on making a quality game before they became worried about the money?

This is often the path to success make a quality product and people will flock to it and then throw money at it.

Not to say that Piranha can't get their act together and make an even better rated game than hawken. As a BT fanatic I'm sure pulling for PGI to prove their worth and make MWO the best f2p game out there.

Meteor Entertainment is their publisher. Adhesive is only the developer.

Also there is a button on the MWO launcher.

EDIT: I do see a 'Lokust Davion' spelled just like your forum name.

Most people I know have decided that the MWO forums are a radioactive exclusion zone and no longer visit for fear of contamination.
