I rated it 10, not because I believe it should be 10 in its current state but because everyone trying to #savemwo is rating it 0.

#saveMWO isn't even active anymore, it was been disbanded, time to find a new bogeyman to blame the game problems on.

After seeing a PGI employee on there(Even if just a volunteer) give it a 10/10, I dropped my review to a 0/10.

I bet at least half of the negative reviewers still play the game.

I can't even tell if that's even accurate, reality, or just wishful thinking.

Assuming it's real. There are a lot of fake reviews from fake people on there.

The people giving this a 10 need to pull their heads out of the dark place its currently in, likewise with the people and the 0 ratings.
Bottom line is this game is fun when you look at its core.
The thing is you cant give a game a high review when all its got is the base core principles. The game NEEDS CW, the game NEEDS UI2.0 and more. As the state of the game is right now its more like shareware, a hint of what the game could be and nothing more.

Opening day and no critic reviews? Don't they normally have pre-release reviews or am I mistaken? Admittedly this wasn't so much a 'release' as just removal of the beta tag but still.

Just curious, was waiting for a critic review.

Volunteers != employees. If you're going to be upset/frustrated and want to air those feelings, you should at least associate people properly.

Edit: And as Gallow indicated, there have already been a number of clearly fake reviews posted in the name of actual employees.

I am assuming that it is real because he gave it a 10/10.

Now, the Sean whatever one from NGNG Was hilarious, but obviously fake. No, they do not cancel out. The ethics violation is too big of a violation of trust here.

Do you know what? PGI could easily "fix" the problems with how people perceive their game, and their company. All they need to do is communicate better. At the moment, it feels like it's us vs them. They're making the game they want to make, and we're trying to get them to make a different game. This shouldn't be the case. They will have to make decisions from time to time what we don't like, but if they were open and prompt with communication, they could curb a lot of the negative reactions to their actions.

THEY SHOULD BE TALKING TO US. It feels like they've gone silent because they're afraid to communicate, or don't know how. But it's really not a difficult problem. Hire a good communicator and give them all the information they need, and a single person could go a long way into fixing the discord between the developers and community. The core gameplay is pretty fun - the problem is that there isn't enough of it, and the pressure to spend real money is too high. Talk to us more about upcoming features, and back off a bit on trying to get money from us. If you do that we'll be calmer about waiting for updates, and not as distrustful of you when it comes to spending money.

#savemwo gave up when it became apparent that PGI is too arrogant to ever listen to people about the game, despite knowing far less about the game than even intermediate players. It's an ugly combination.

I'm not sure what you'd call it, but we have the approach of people disappearing all the time and nobody's sure what happened to them, along with everything they ever said.

We're well past communication. Quite frankly they need to acknowledge two things:

- They do not understand the game at all
- There are many people here who do

They will never accept either purely for reasons of ego, at this point.

Again, given the recent answers I've seen in interviews, I understand the game systems of MechWarrior: Online better than Garth or Bryan. Literally, they were fumbling technical details on community hot points that I can easily prove otherwise. I don't know what to say to that; I can understand not having play experience, but they should know these things.

You indicated it was a PGI employee and then mentioned volunteer. Those 2 things are not the same, so in this case, no you did not do so. My point being, if you're going to be upset with the game or the developers, then so be it. But don't attempt to justify your stance based on the false premise of a volunteer somehow being an employee.

The ******** is very easy to see on many of these reviews. 0/10 for "broken promises"? WAH WAH WAH... it was a beta. Things should be expected to change. Metacritic is a waste, nobody has any credibility so their opinions are worthless.

Just.

Like.

Mine.

If you want good reviews then you should deliver promised features. I cannot give a great review of this game since I paid money for promised features that have been completely ignored in the final release. Feel free to check my post history and you will see I was a champion of the revs and the be patient mantra. I can't get my money back but it is definitely my right as a consumer to give a bad review to a company and game that I feel used deceptive business practices to get my money. No CW? No CW information or update or anything beyond the vague "soon"? Then my recourse is to leave a bad review and let other consumers know that I am unhappy and why. This company is free to do what they want with their game but I, as a consumer, am free to voice my displeasure.

Dont think its possible as one of the main attractions should of been the patch and how are you gonna review a launched game before the launch patch?

Dragonsfire, the semantics you are trying to argue are a non sequitur. Whatever his affiliation with PGI, it cannot be denied that his affiliation is indeed with PGI and therefor his actions in public reflect on PGI. In this case, as in all things, it is highly unethical for someone who is part of a company - volunteering, employed, or otherwise - to participate in any sort of ranking, voting, or similar activities involved with that company or business.

Be upset at people who are upset at PGI as you will, but do not come on here and attack them. The majority of valid criticisms get derailed by people coming in and roughshodding a defense which does nothing but muddy the waters.

The way I see the game is still a work in progress. It still needs a lot of features and additions to make it a decent game. The basic game is here it just needs to be finished. I don't care if they ever add the rest of the game, currently it is still fun to go into the game and blow up other mechs. As long as I enjoy that I will enjoy the game and give it what it is due score wise. It is still mixed and could go up or could go down. I will wait and see.

Let's seee.....

Forced to use a trial mech for about 5 hours to buy your own mech.

Less than intuitive game play mechanics like ghost heat with few tutorials.

Very little money made per match, so it takes forever to buy a mech, then another day to even outfit it.

Only 2 gameplay modes.

3PV corner peaking.

MC mechs costing too much.

Rude devs/forum mods.

4/10 is the best I can give
