Do not you have a problem of getting out of the blast area with your Stalker?

Short dumb question(s):
What the heck is that "officer chat" and why open it automatically whenever I join a group?

How the hell it is possible to achieve "brawl" with an LRM-exclusive mech? Brawl not range-based?

You get a Solo kill against enemy 'Mech up to 450 m and you must pilot a medium or heavy 'Mech.

Your weapons do not matter. Thus - even if it sounds strange - you can successfully brawl with LRMs. Posted Image

If you're an officer in a unit - even one you created - you have access to a chat channel for officers only. That's what you're seeing.

Officer in an unit?
I know if I create a group I would be the group leader and decide things before matches (game mode, map) but I usually join to existing groups to play. And I doubt I have any rank within the unit I belong (RIMS) because I am a rather low-middle skilled one among them. Or I am an officer because I reached a certain level in FP? I currently a point commander with 2% away from star commander but I thought it has meaning only in FP...

Seems true. It happened a few times since. I either use my new missile-exclusive Archer or my 3xLRM15 Summoner and whenever a score a solo kill I also got CB reward for brawling. Interesting fact that I am a better brawler with LRMs than with lasers or ACs (I also good with PPCs but brawling with them seems near impossible to me)...

Clan LRMs have certain advantages ...

Nothing to do with loyalty rank, everything to do with how ranks are set up inside the unit. Which I unfortunately don't know.

1. Suppose enemy has full ecm (ie: enemy has both "Enhanced ECM System" nodes in Sensors Skill Tree),
how many meters away from my mech will enemy ECM start interfering and cause "LOW SIGNAL" on my sensors? (Suppose my mech has no Beagle Active Probe, nothing else to counter foe's ECM jamming).

2. For my mech with no ECM, should I get "just 1 Seismic Sensor" costing me 7 skill points on the left hand side skill tree, or should I get "both Seismic Sensor" costing me 12 skill points?

The full 12 skill point investment out of my 91-point pool starts to get prohibitive, especially if my mech has no ECM...

I could be wrong, but I think it would be 90 m.

Well, it is your choice. Posted Image

I know that some Tier 1 players do not use Seismic module, as they invest into different skill nodes. I have it on some 'Mechs.

Think Radar Deprivation. This skill is always worth it. To get 60%, which is the widest recommended amount due to cost, you're spending 9 points down the left side of the sensor tree. The first seismic is only 1 more point.

If you upgrade that to 100% Radar Deprivation, which is kinda like magic for disappearing from enemy HUDs, that's 6 more points, for a total of 15. if you're in the sensor tree for that much already, it's +1 point for the first dot of Seismic, and +2 more after that for the second dot, total of 18 skill nodes invested. (Or 14 points if you want both seismic and only 60% Radar Derp.)

personally, unless I'm in a light mech that dies if it stops moving, I always get both Seismic nodes. Pausing before going around a corner, over a hill, or even just stopping and reversing gives you a ping on Seismic about nearby enemies. Other sides of walls, different elevations... you can count enemies in the basement below you. And with both Seismic nodes, the range of this ability is greater than the range of micro pulse lasers and nearly the range of IS small pulse, so you get backstabber warnings.

Ohhh wouldn't you know it ... I have another question :)

Does anybody happen to know if there is any way to purchase the 'MadDog-RV' other than from the Mechstore? It is quite spendy there for a single Mech and there are no perks with it (Mechbay etc)
For example the 'Warden Pack' is really good for the 2 ECM T-Wolf variants and GSP and Mechbays ... and .. and ... and ... really good deal and I might just jump on that while available .. but I am really (really) fond of the MadDog chassis with the extra turret guns below the CT :)

Good choice... Mad Dog RV hero mech Posted Image

Lots of choices to get Mad Dog Revenant:

1) Solaris 7 package, both from MWO website, and Steam:
(Pretty good deal, since you get seven (7) Hero mechs, includes seven (7) mechbays, 30days active Premium Time, and I like the warhorns too!):
https://mwomercs.com/solaris-7
https://store.steamp...ris_7_Hero_Pack

2) Somewhat out of scope and probably not what you are looking for:
~You can get MDD-Prime(I) special variant with +30% CBills Bonus, if you buy both below packages in the following order:
https://mwomercs.com/clans
https://mwomercs.com/wavetwo

Thank you so much w0qj !! That was very thorough ... wow!
The 'Hero' pack looks good ... but it also contains quite a few IS chassis that really won't do me any good .... sorry I always will be a 'Clanner' specifically a 'WOLF' :) ... the first set you mentioned is very expensive and I really didn't see the 'Revenant' there anywhere ... sigh ... I think it will be best to buy the 'Warden Pack' and sell the 2 Dire Whales (already got one of them and I find them incredibly sluggish) but then use the GSP and the mechbays to fill one of them with an MadDog-RV from the store :)
Well maybe if I am a very good boy Santa is going to help me out there .. LOL ... I am in no hurry!

In any case, thanks again for your quick and helpful answer !

You can also buy the MadDog-RV (MDD-RV) with MC (MechCredits)!

1) There is that rare MC Credit sale a few times each year, usually you get +30% bonus MC.
https://mwomercs.com/profile/credits

You can research past MC Credit sale past history here (if you wish to):
https://mwomercs.com/news

2) You can wait for 50% Off ingame sale of MDD-RV (at 50% Off the usual MC price),
you can buy it with MC inside the [Store] page inside the MWO game client itself!

3) Now, if you are patient enough to get the above (1) best MC sale, and then buy it (2) at 50% Off MC ingame sale... Posted Image
(But that's a long time from now...)

Definitely going to keep my eyes open for that !!!

I will .. maybe it gives me a clue to the frequency it happens .. and maybe I can interpolate from that when the next one will be happening ... always 'frugal' !!

2) You can wait for 50% Off ingame sale of MDD-RV (at 50% Off the usual MC price),

I have been looking :)

Now THAT is the ideal case and the pinnacle of frugality !! I love the way you think :D

Thanks w0qj again for your, very much appreciated, replies.
.. and thanks for taking the time to do it!!

If you really like Mad Dogs, then buy it. But "Revenant" is just an average 'Mech - not great, not terrible.

If I may say something, never ever sell 'Mechs, unless you desperately need their Mechbays. It is usually better to spend a dollar or two on additional Mechbays and return to those 'Mechs later.

You will never recover the original purchasing price of those 'Mechs, not counting various upgrades and additional OmniPods.

Thanks Martian, yes the RV is just another MadDog ... but it is the only Center Torso that has the turret guns :) .. I have done some test setups in the lab and ran it in the testing grounds and I really like the way I can distribute my loadout.

As for selling .. I have and will continue to sell IS mechs .. I really have no use for them .. but I can use the mechbays :) .. I am not worried about the C-Bills .. I play enough and can always earn more :)

Thank you for your thoughts .. much appreciated.
