You need to lock.

just to clarify, people can only see Mechs they do not have line of sight on if a teammate has locked onto them (press R to lock on), they are NARCed or there is a UAV in range.

LRMs cannot track a target unless it is locked, and if the lock is lost they stop tracking.

if you can see an enemy Mech always try to get and keep a lock, and if you want to help your teams LRM users try to target Mechs which LRMs have a chance of hitting

always press 'r'
i just lost a game because one my teammate didn't press 'r' one time
no kidding

enemy was very close to win by cap, our spider spotted their last mech, a badly damaged mlx who tried to hide, but didn't lock it for me so i couldn't get the lock on streaks in advance, when i got the line of sight, for the time it took me to find where that lynx was exactly and to lock, mlx hid and it was over; if that spider had locked i had a very good chance to finish the lynx and we would have won

There are modules for it. Don't know how to help you beyond "look again."

And, no, AC/5 modules do not affect UAC/5s.

In the settings I see where the hotkey binding are but all I have been able to do is remove a binding. Is it possible to assign a different key to an exiting action without using the macro language I have heard about? If so is it one of those things you can only do when you own a mech?

No, you should be able to change key bindings for any key without the need to own a mech. Owning mechs is irrelevant when it comes to settings.

Try doing quick double clicks when selecting a key box. You'll see words appear "
Key Binding" I think. When you see those, press the key you want to use for that action.

Thanks IW! I must have tried that a million times but I guess it has to be a REAL FAST double click.

You are still a recruit. Until you finish your first 25 matches, you are restricted to 10 posts a day. Or something like that, and ONLY in the New Player Help section.

I am pretty sure it is 5 posts per day,

that is an antispam measure, to stop someone creating a user then posting lots of adverts or general spam all over the forums

Stars are a sort of ranking based on how much you post. It doesn't really mean anything.

This question might have been asked before, so I apologise if I am just repeating it, but concerning the CW Events, but on several CW event drop, I seem to be always disconnected just as the drop starts for no reason at al (as well as quite a few other people) which happens mostly on maps such as Emerald Taiga, Vitric Forge and Sulphurous Rift, the event loads as it should, but the instant that the game officially starts (as in being released from your dropship, the game crashes and I get kicked right out of the game entirely, so I was just wondering, is there some sort of bug/glitch with those maps?

I have already run the repair tool four (4) times in an attempt to try and combat this disconnection problem but to no avail so I was wondering if it really was a glitch in the game's programming or if it happens before there are a lot of people (primarily during the CW event) that are causing the game to crash since the game has to take into consideration the amount of players on the battlefield at the same time plus the maps (as said above) that could be the reason for this.
Although it is not so much a big deal, because whenever I get disconnected, I always manage to reload the game and log back into the CW Event maps where that happens within two (2) minutes but on other CW Event maps, I can get in and play without any dc issues at all.

I am just trying to find out if it really is a bug or the fact so many people are lining up to play it more than solo/pug drops these days or if there is some way that I do not yet know of on how to stop this from happening?

(Please excuse me for being ignorant, but when it computers, my level of understanding does not go past working a typewriter so I am curious as to why some CW maps seem to disconnecting a fair amount of people as soon as they start.
Short of running the repair tool again, which found nothing wrong, is it just the sheer amount of people playing which results in being disconnected from certain CW maps or am I just unlucky enough to be one of the people who experiences this?

My apologies if I am posting this in the wrong thread, but I have looking and there does not seem to be any real forum on the forum website where you can ask questions like these.

It's most likely a problem with your computer. CW maps have more things going on and it's harder on your computer than other people's. Try lowering your textures to Med. That was an issue some were having. Also, if you are running a 32 bit processor, your performance will suffer.

Hm you could be right, since I am running a fairly old computer (but have kept drive spare to a bare minimum. Seems more like the more things that go on in drop matches (such as a lot of terrain or BattleMechs and their fire power lags my gameplay a bit, so I might have to look into buying a new computer, or at least a new VC to combat the problem.

Can you rejoin if you restart MWO? It may just be a specific animation that's bombing it out.

I'd try turning the detail down first. Have a look at GMan's post here: http://www.nogutsnog...hp?topic=3003.0

Also, totally worth logging a support case. If MWO has crashed out, it will have produced a dump file. Attach that to an email to support@mwomercs.com . Then at least there's a chance it will get fixed.

Yeah that's probably it. When cw first came out it was crashing for a lot of people due to the added complexities. Make sure to turn down graphic settings if you can. Also, if you are not using the 64 bit version of the game, try it and see if it works better. And try dx 9 and 11 to see if that helps. Toggle to each and test.
