You might want to try CPLT-A1 with 6x ASRM-6. It's basically a pocket-sized splatclops.

Hypothetically, if I wanted to make a Jade Falcon dropdeck with a Black Lanner, Night Gyr and Hellbringer, what should the 4th mech be? I recall reading in the fluff included in MW2 that the Hellbringer was often fielded by Jade Falcon, to explain why it's on the list

The Summoner and Kit Fox were also mechs that they preferred. Especially the Summoner...

Who do we talk to to get the outdated and unusable threads cleared out of the forums?

Again, as a relatively new player, it's just BLAM! here's a dozen stickied threads, go ahead and figure out if any of the info in them is any good.

They get unstickied every so often. Usually when no longer relevant.

Dated as it is the second post of the first page of this thread is still relevant.

Survival first. Even without much investment in the cooling tree that build sounds manageable, but caution is obviously advised when firing the lasers while on high heat

Sounds like better heat management may be needed via the skill tree. 6MPLs sounds better than one SNPPC + 2 LPPCs.

6 MPLs means he can only afford 3 tons of HG ammo without cutting into his engine. 6 MLs would allow him to max engine, shove in a pair of heat sinks and still have space for several tons of Gauss ammo.

2xML is always better than 1xSPPC if you have the hardpoints. Same damage, runs cooler, 1/3rd the tonnage (2xMPL is even better, but tonnage savings are smaller)

Does a pure IS ssrm build still profit from artemis, regarding lock-on times?

Are there still penalties for quieting a match earlier to start a new. Example not being there for when a mech dies and not getting the xp and cbills for the assist. I know it was like this in the after open beta but haven't seen anything about it since.

If you leave matches earlier you get time penalties plus you don't get the C-Bills or XP.

I think what Spare Parts Bin was saying is shorthand for what I'm about to say...

If you leave a match after you have died there are no penalties. However, as you mentioned, you also do not gain any credit/c-bills/exp for possible assists on mechs you've damaged but did not die before you left. This has remained unchanged from my understanding.

In which section of the forums should I go to ask about
1) R.A.T. 1 mouse toggle switch being set to equal "R" button push (configuring a game mouse)
2) changing in game music to something else, specifically BSG music.

thanks in advance

1. There use to be a hardware section, but I don't see it any more. So, most likely right here isn't a bad spot? Otherwise, I would imagine you should be able to just assign the button via in game options.

2. Last I knew (not that PGI tends to go after people for it), you are not suppose to alter game files. People do it, but you technically aren't suppose to. Beyond that, I know I saw someone have a guide on youtube that also demonstrated the different sounds from their pack...? Don't suggest it. If you are just looking for background music, just have a media player with music playing in the background.

Phones and an Ipod or CD player or in computer CD/DVD drive with a mix CD. I can only play the game without outside music.

If, at this event, I unlock a pattern for e.g. an Orion using a trial mech, will that pattern stay unlocked on my account even though I don't have my own Orion and won't have any for at least some time?
