How much damage can you do with Air or Artillery strikes now (I know it was lowered).

Just checked> Arty 150 dmg, Air 90 dmg

WAT? I am uninstalling (I prefered them over arty) all air strikes, strike yourself nerfman.

Those damages are per explosion, not total. I had a match less than a week ago that got me over 700 damage from 2 Arty Strikes. (1000 damage match, 700+ match score)

Yup. Each strike drops ten bombs, IIRC, so multiply by 10 to see the theoretical maximum.

All most makes me want to use them. I need the Coolant Dump too much though.

Arty is 10 x 15 damage, Air strike is 6 x 15 damage.

The only advantage of air strike is (if You are lucky or cyborg) that the target can find itself on a intersection of 2 damage radius so it receives 30 damage. That way he can die from a strike headshot.

Airstrike Design notes: When it came to the two types of strike options available, Airstrikes tended to overshadow Artillery strikes due to their ability to accurately arc over cover and deliver their entire payload across a full cluster of Enemy 'Mechs. While arcing over cover and punishing 'Mechs camped immediately behind cover is the cornerstone of the Airstrikes role, its ability to both be buried well out of sight of an opposing force while still being able to successfully hit targets hundreds of meters outside the initial engagement zone is something we wish to curb.

We are going to remove some of its shells and distance to make the consumable focused on breaking targets immediately behind cover. These changes will keep Airstrikes potent against opponents that are hiding immediately behind cover, but will remove the ability for the bombs to carry through to targets hundreds of meters away form the initial bombing area unless the smoke can be successfully placed closer to the initial target.

I do not know for sure if ammo explosions damage caused by those strikes are counted towards the final damage. That could explain high damage numbers.

Thanks! I've worked on getting good at laying strikes. I believe that on most of them, I'm hitting more than one target. I'm not using them as much as just "cover" for me to move etc. I look to get behind a couple of them and drop it right behind them.

From the front, one thing I look for a Heavy or Assault moving forward and back. I allow him to drop back and I lay the strike as they come back up to fire again. I always look for the slowest, biggest mechs I can find.

They do cost $40,000 C-Bills a pop. (Hey, how about PGI adding bonuses for Strikes?) In the above video I linked, I spent $120,000 C-Bills in that match in Strikes and UAVs. I made $384,000 C-Bills for the match since it was a victory and they paid for themselves.

I'm also learning the many ways a "good" UAVs (ones with all the bonuses) come in handy.

I never thought I'd say this but I'm replacing cool shots for UAVs in more mechs.

I never got the hang of cool shots... I have it on a couple mechs, but the moment I put them on is the moment that any usage scenario for them evaporates. UAVs and Arty are universally better for me in the long run, so I use them instead.

Well, my Troll Flamer Mechs still need cool shots, lol.

I did not use them for years and then I started using free ones. Some of my mechs tend to run hot.

There has been a number of times where I might have gotten in a one on one and the fact that I had a Cool Shot and he did not was the difference between which one of us lived and which one died.

Is there any way to use the Steam played-time for the non-steam shortcut to the portal launcher?
I'm asking, because I don't use the Steam version of MWO, but i would like to track my stats (to see how much play time i have...).

and 2nd:
how can I find out which badge belongs to which mechpack?
the gift shop just states "1 badge, 1 title", but not which.
I'm looking for the Marauder and Warhammer, but so far i only found "the widow maker".

Stats are right here. Or above, and maybe add "Madstats".

Here you've got exact playtime on each of your chassis. Converting that to hours takes a spreadsheet and a couple formulas.

I'm wondering about FOV. Mine is now set at 60 but then all my settings went back to default.

I do not see well so should I move it?

I tend to almost always run in the 2nd screen at least anyway.

The number one thing players that have died say to be is "Change your FOV, it is too close to see!".

You have dual monitors? Increase it to whatever feels comfortable. Go drop in the Testing grounds and you can safely change it and try it out without affecting a match. I think mine is something like 75 but I only have a single monitor.

Anybody know what happened with the Steam mech packs? I wanted to buy one of them the next time it went on sale but I saw that they're all gone. Might've been due to rebranding the game as Mechwarrior Online Solaris 7 but that's just speculation.

Or maybe Steam took a piece of the profits, so they decided to leave it all in house, where it may be cheaper?

Just speculation, like you.

Dual Monitors? Get your Yankee Azz off of my property! LOL

That was the ticket. I've been thinking that my vision has gotten worse.

Anyone else think the final sound effects while inside the drop ship sound a lot like the alert klaxon from Emergency! ?

Hi, how strict is the game with its minimum specs, esp. memory size? I'm looking at an offer for a used laptop MSI GX700 (without the "extreme" design) whose specs look okay-ish (judging mainly by Crysis benchmarks), except that it takes a maximum of 4GB RAM. Someone with experience if it still runs on such a machine?

Why is it that on my Ebon Jaguar whenever I get my LEFT TORSO destroyed I also lose all my right torso weapons? I pack UAC20 on the left as well as its ammo and x2 large lasers + 1 micro for higher mounts.

Everything from my quick glance looks good on that except for the memory. Often times though you can upgrade your memory, even on a lap top. So that machine should be able to run MW:O, but don't expect anything fancy from it. Low frame rate and lowest graphic settings are probably going to be your thing on that.

I will mention, MW:O tends not to like Laptops. It can work on them, but it isn't a preferred platform. Watch your heat if you use that and maybe invest in a cooling pad as well to try and help it out.

I'm presuming that your UAC20 is on the left torso, and the lasers are on the right?

If you lose your left torso, you should only lose the UAC. If you are losing more than that, and your other torso still has armor, then you've found a possible bug. If your right torso doesn't have armor, you could have suffered a well timed crit on the right torsos as you lost your left torso.

Without video, it's hard to diagnose.
