Well, it can. At one time, there were complaints about people creating alt accounts just to post junk. Maybe this was baseless, I don't know.

It wasn't, unfortunately. We had some spambots in here, as well as some of the people that got MWO banned as a topic on the Star Citizen forums creating alts to spam unconstructive complaints.

Noob question again:
Is there any possibility to use the battlemap (B) to drop artillery\air strikes?
The direct LOS + click method seems a bit problematic for me because I need to uncover my mech way to long (1-2s what is deadly if face 5-7 enemy assaults)...

No, you can not use BattleGrid / Minimap for dropping artillery strikes.

As others have pointed out, no. You can target the strike on enemy UAVs, however.

It would be super nice, but a bit of a cheap shot that everyone would be raging about so it's better that it's LoS only. I have mine mapped to scroll wheel up/down so it's pretty easy to use any time. Don't use the scroll wheel for UAVs because if you have multiple, it'll read it as multiple deployments. Arty and strikes have a cooldown preventing that.

Is it still true that LRM spread depends on how many tubes you fire at once?

Inner Sphere LRMs now fire in a single salvo regardless of the launcher tube count.

Clan LRMs are a specific case because they fire a stream of missiles.

I still don't understand. I think my question is two-fold:
1. Does a single LRM15 have tighter (less) spread than a single LRM20?
2. Does firing 4xLRM5 at once produce a different spread than staggering them (firing only one each 0.5s)?
I would like to know the answer both for clan and IS LRMs.

1. Does a single LRM15 have tighter (less) spread than a single LRM20?

Check the following values:

Inner Sphere LRMs
  • LRM-5 - direct fire spread: 3,7; indirect fire spread: 4,7
  • LRM-10 - direct fire spread: 3,7; indirect fire spread: 4,7
  • LRM-15 - direct fire spread: 4,7; indirect fire spread: 5,7
  • LRM-20 - direct fire spread: 4,7; indirect fire spread: 5,7
Clan LRMs
  • LRM-5 - direct fire spread: 4,05; indirect fire spread: 5,05
  • LRM-10 - direct fire spread: 4,05; indirect fire spread: 5,05
  • LRM-15 - direct fire spread: 5,05; indirect fire spread: 6,05
  • LRM-20 - direct fire spread: 5,05; indirect fire spread: 6,05
As you can see, LRM-5 and LRM-10 have the same spread; LRM-15 and LRM-20 have the same spread.

Some people say so, but I am not quite sure. Even if it does, there are so many factors in the game ...

Anyway, you can never know if you will not lose your lock in the next second. So in my opinion, it is better to fire as many missiles as you can, all at once, while you can.

Also, massed firing is better, if you wish to overwhelm the enemy's AMS.

Thank you! Yes, I've also learned that it's definitely better to fire large volleys in both cases you've mentioned - to penetrate AMS and to hit a target that might be about to disappear.
Direct fire = target in sight? If so, I never knew there's a difference between direct and indirect fire spread unless you have Artemis. Very useful knowledge indeed.

LRMs were reworked a couple years ago so then it did behave differently if you had LoS to your target or not. The height of the flight path is different too. LoS give a lower and more straight path so the missiles are more likely to hit. Non-LoS will arc higher and is better for indirect hits over cover but is more easily countered by enemy AMS.

Affirmative.

PGI wanted to subdue the indirect fire capability of LRMs, so they gave them the more pronounced spread in their indirect fire role.

Not a new player anymore but here is a noob question.

Where do I find the screen shots I take of the game when using the "print screen" key?

Looked all over my computer- piranha games folder included. can't find them.

Thanks!

You're not the only one having difficulty finding the Screenshot folder, which is as below!
