Still not amazingly comfortable in my bm's i think im so used to simpler builds having the option of tons of weapons has thrown me abit. Slowly refining my builds, phoenix is allrounder, 1d is triple ac2 and 1s is splat master.

Try twin AC2s and an AC5 for the 1D, less heat issues and more punch than the triple AC2 one. Also it will let you use your lasers more because less heat. Mine's got 4 medium lasers and a single large laser as backup weapons to the ACs. No ghost heat.

BLR-1G

Been messing around with this since last night. Replaced the AC/10 and 2 med lasers I had with 2 ER PPCS. I'm a bit torn but I love the shoulder cannons! Heat isn't that bad once you put mastery into account.

Playing around with it more in Mechromancer using a 380XL. It's pretty much the same as stock except tons better. I'm tempted to buy a 380XL now more than ever.

Here is what I have been running: BLR-1D Right two LL in group two, left to LL in group one (chain fire both), MG in group 3. Been reasonably happy with it. Only died to side torso once while mastering it. (Actually this is my 1G build, 1D I dropped one heat sink and added one more MG)

Actually I kinda like XL engines in the Battlemaster, both to take advantage of it's potential speed and because it's... "assets"... appear to be largely part of the CT hitbox. That + the huge crotch also counting as CT = may as well take an XL... no?

If nothing else, the BM tends to run hot, so it's good to be able to move out, dish out the pain, and then get to safety.

In hindsight, did I just "objectify" my Battlemaster?

I'm so sorry, I'll go take some sensitivity classes...

... and an XL engine.

BLR-1G - Masakari

Title of the link says it all. Friend of mine challenged me to try and make the Masakari, and I got pretty damn close. It only has 17 DHS as opposed to 20, but other than that it works beautifully.

Meet Des and Troy. They are brothers.

Des is a BLR-1G(P)

BLR-1G

Des likes to melt faces up close and hammer them from afar. He is a little hot-tempered for my usual tastes, but isn't as helpless in CQB as his more level-headed and cooler brother Troy.

Troy is a BLR-1D

BLR-1D

He shares quite a similar loadout to Des, with less Pew Pew/Wub Wub, slightly slower, yet has a much cooler temperament. Troy is a fan of guerrilla hit-and-fade (as much as an 85 ton stompy death bot can) and enjoys smashing things at a distance.

Took me a little while to find builds that worked for me but I've been getting some half-decent scores (4-600 average to 1k damage on occasion) with these two. They are completely interchangeable between the two obviously (tried the 3-ac2 on the 1D but meh) but that was entirely accidental.

Oh, and then there's Ed, the BLR-1S

BLR-1S

Ed is the "other" brother that nobody talks about. You know, like the seedy uncle that gets too drunk, starts fights, loses said fights, says rather inappropriate things and urinates in the punch bowl at parties. Frequently gets confused and ends up in the middle of nowhere, walking in circles with no pants on while talking to his left foot. He likes missiles. A lot. And ice cream. He's not allowed out much, and only under close supervision, by court order.

I said it before. I repeat myself.

7 ER PPCs. Fired all 7 after overriding 100%, survived. Note to all. DO NOT start back up before you 'rest' a while.

Manual start up = instant death. It's a 30 second wait btw.

Even with override, firing all 7 ER PPCs forces an automatic shutdown.

Koniving- inspiring as always :)

I really found the Battlemaster annoying to configure. Aside from the 1D Triple AC/2 which I don't like at all, you can do everything else on the 1G as you could with the 1D and more. I think the 1D is the worst.

But last night I started screwing around with the 1G again. I really like the BM and wanted one of them to work for me. Cracked 1K with the new set up. It felt really good and fun to play compared to every other set up I've tried with it, and have definitely been doing better in matches.

BLR-1G

Great for long range poke, just enough gauss ammo to last if you make your shots count. Firing off the PPC with the gauss together makes some great long range punch and is cooler than double PPC's. And I don't even really like PPCs right now. Then of course you have your sextuple MLs to back them up. Can be a a little hot if you go all out, but it's more than manageable. Have only over heated a few times.

Next to that I have the standard 1S - LRM10x2 LRM15x2 set up, occasionally swapping out for 4xSRM 6's for some up close splatting. I just wish there was an easier way to switch between the SRM load out and the LRM load out without having to strip and equip again.

How can you call this a "brawler"? Huge CT hittable even from backside (still hits front)! Essentially its a slower and bigger version of dragon, that is no way a brawler lol. And -1G can not even twist its torso!

why can't you torso twist in a -1G? it doesnt twist as far as the other varients but it normally doesnt take to much when combined with the speed.
