Not a control setup I use, in fact I hadn't even thought about using "Fire Selected Group" even a bit.

If you do use this setup and you've activated premium time, I would send a ticket to Support@mwomercs.com and get them to stop your premium time.

Since this was PGI's direct error they should be willing to help.

I would be borderline livid at this lack of foresight.

They've already said they won't refund or stop Premium times. I disagree with this, but at least they are fixing it.

*this did not really affect me so much because I use a gaming mouse, Corsair Vengence, and always use seperately mapped groups*

Done on the day the change was made, at first they said that they would not reimburse premium time and directed me to a couple paragraphs in the ToS.
After some follow up E-mails, they said that once it's reinstated they would look at my account and if they see no activity, they *MAY* inject some Premium Time if I remind them of my "inconvenience".

It's hilarious that they are so worried about phantom new player difficulty, as if all that matters is getting the odd new player into the game. 3rd person and control simplification isn't going to bring hordes of new players; keep the players you have before it's too late!

So, two whole weeks w/o this feature. It's "all systems nominal" @ PGI.

Blind faith rewarded... if you call that a "reward".

It sounds like if you nag them enough, you might get your way (seriously doubt it, but kudos if you get it reimbursed in some way).

Are you kidding me? 2 weeks to fix a line of code in a script? Please tell me this is some sort of joke. I stopped playing till it is fixed. But making me wait 2 weeks? Where is this information?

This is the best "proof" you're going to get (next patch day):

There's more than 1? Is the 3rd time the Charm, or is that just wishful thinking?!?

So, it took an email to Russ Bullock (PGI CEO), but I finally got an answer. To his credit, I sent him the email late last night, and I had an answer when I woke up this morning... he answered the email from his Iphone.

Now, having to wait 2 full weeks without playing (while paying for premium time) is not the answer (hotfix) I was hoping for, but its one I can accept. And he gets kudos for responding back to me in a timely fashion. Im still miffed about the premium time getting burned, and the bad decision making that led to the option being removed in the first place, but im cooler about it than I was.

That is a joke. So I will not be playing until then and now they get not a dime from me. I could deal with DC, I could even deal with weapons being nerfed and stupid heat issues, but breaking the game in how I play and have played throughout the years is inexcusable and the fact they won't hotfix it with all the money that has been thrown at them is just weak.

PGI I NEVER HATED YOU UNTIL TODAY.

First time for Love, second time for Money (She refused to win the Lottery, so I kicked her to the curb)...

Having said all that, whether they inject premium time or not, something like this would have been MUCH more satisfying...

" Regarding the removal of FSWG:

We are truly sorry about the negative impact this has caused many of you. We really didn't realize exactly how many of you depend on this for interfacing with the game. In the interest of helping new players, we neglected those who have been with us for a while. In short, we really just didn't think this one through.

Hindsight being 20/20, in the future, we will attempt to consult the community before making interface changes like this. Sometimes we get so caught up in what we could do, we don't think about what we should do.

Our engineering department is working on a patch to place this back in the game, but it will no longer be the default keymap. We will attempt to get this in during one of our weekly sale injection/removal patches, but if, for some reason, it has to stretch out to our next content patch cycle, we are willing to reimburse those of you who were so severely impacted by this change for any premium time you may have lost. Email wescrewedup@mwomers.com and we'll check your account for activity and reimburse you accordingly.

Thanks for understanding, and again, we're sorry,
MWO Development team."

THAT, would have made everything ok.

Being in the software development business for years, if it takes more then 3 days to build, test and install a fix for this issue. (They really do not care about the customer or the cost to their reputation) They should think about getting some new coders. If it is a two week wait to get the fix then they need to let the person who did this go and find some one else to do their coding. The fire selected weapons group would be imbedded in core code, So doing anything other then hiding it from the UI would lead to any number of secondary issues, they are going to have to put the open beta tag line back in the title.

Sooo.... Apparently PGI thinks this game is still.. BETA..

I think this game STILL IS beta. Nothing changed when they announced it going live. ...well I was able to buy the Orion for C-Bills...wooo. I honestly can't remember witnessing a more non eventful game release. If they were smart, they could've stayed in beta and released with UI 2.0. New look, new features. Maybe had a cool XP or C-Bill event... It would've actually felt like a release.

It’s completely ridiculous that it would take this long to replace something that’s been in the MW universe since the beginning of the computer games. Us joystick guys are completely screwed, losing premium time that’s been paid for.

2 weeks? Talk about a bad time to install an a oops in game. Battlefield 4 and the new COD game just hit the market. X rebirth will be out on the 15th. lets see between 45 and 60 bucks per title (not counting the misc stuff you can additionally get)... let me do the math... er... nm the math... thats a lota freekin cash that could have been spent on MWO but will end up going to other games. Time is Money.
This has been my final rant on the subject. See you all in 2 weeks.

My year's worth of premium time expires this month, and I was fully expecting to add another year, but have now decided not to, based on their handling of this issue.

I'll continue to enjoy this game despite its dodgy progression, but I can no longer fully support a company that keeps showing a lack of respect for its core fanbase with a flawed strategy of compromising on the original vision sold to us to chase after the fickle casual crowd, instead of creating a richer experience that rewards players for the challenge of learning deeper gameplay.
