4-5 lrm 10's on chain fire that permanantly screen shake you.

everyone has seen them all over the place sense the tuesday before last.
if something isnt done PGI is going to over correct the problem like always and we will be left with useless LRMs again.

please, stop the flooding before you ruin LRM for everyone, or. nerf LRM flooding

hehehehehehehehe i'm glad to see my favorite build from closed beta has finally spread around.

Step 1: Mount an AMS
Step 2: Watch single LRM/10 vollies explode
Step 3: Profit?

As a major LRM user I can tell you I would NEVER run that for a few reasons:

- GHOST HEAT FROM 6 LRM/10s unless it's spaced out to never fire 2 in more than a half second period, which invalidates the whole complaint, means this is REALLY ineffective damage-to-heat.
- The rock from LRM/10s is WAY UNDER HALF of the LRM/20. If you really want to rock someone setup 4 LRM/20s on a 'mech with 10-ports and chain fire those on a 0.5 second delay macro.

This is only a problem if you aren't taking measures to prevent it. This is even sillier than when people used to freak out about AC/2s until Paul's maths made them useless.

I striped out ecm out of my DDC, ams are first thing to go on all of my mechs cause it is too easy to position yourself properly where u can break target locks and just put a mountain or a building in the path of the lrms. I also play LRM boats some times, only time I use LRMs is when I can have 3-4 x lrm15. I find it waste of ammunition to shoot lrms at a target that is further then 500 meters away, due to target locks breaks and terrain. But when I sneak up on some one with my stalker packing 4xlrm15 and 6 medium lasers I can spam 120 missiles from 300 meters and then go and finish you off with lasers. Experienced driver in a stalker and 4 lrm15 is a deadly combo. I have turned many battles using this setup. But if you try to sit still and spam lrms from back of the pack you gonna find that very few hit. And having less then 40 lrms in total is very ineffective cause quite often you can shoot lrms only once before they close the range and you are in the laser exchange battle. Moral of the story FIX darn heat on alpha strike with large lasers.

The funniest thing is that I started this thread

Mostly like the similarities in wording of the titles.

The sound of a hundred keyboards being thrown into a wall in unison, as the uninitiated don't understand how to avoid them.

does anyone who is any good actual die from lrms?

I can honestly count on one hand the number of times they have killed me since they got nerfed. I don't even bother to run ams very often.

The only time I've really died from LRMs is when I'm being overwhelmed by light mechs that spot. The more that is on the field looking at you, the more opportunities the LRMs are going to fly in to do the bulk of the work. Cover will work some of the time, but any time there enough eyes on you, you're dead anyhow... lurms or not.

I don't think there is a problem with LRMs at all. I have AMS on nearly all my mechs, I use cover and pay attention to the Map and Terrain. Pilots simply need to have better map-awareness and be intelligent when it comes to logistics.. Also, FFS AMS is there for a reason so use it. especially if you PUG, put AMS on your mech to compensate for the chance of not having an ecm mech in a PUG game. If you do have one or more ECM mechs then by the gods stick with them.

I use LRMs occasionally, though not as boats as this isn't my play style. I only have one LRM mech and that is my Hunchie with two LRM15's that I use for either CC, Terrain/Are blockage, and as a defence against long range mechs. Also they are great as a weapon to fire a volley off before closing to finish off with lasers or ballistics. You have to be intelligent with LRMs to make full use of them (especially if you;re not boating) and this is the same for defence against LRMs. Be Intelligent. MWO is a team game.

I do have one question though..
Why is is that when I chain fire my two LRM 15's on my hunchie I fire three volleys instead of two? By this I mean, I chain fire both of them and the first LRM15 volley is like normal then as the second LRM15 fires it fires two volleys making three in total?

There is a issue right now with LRM 5's on link fire apparently the low heat and quick rate of fire reload time allows you to overwhelm AMS and kill a mech really quickly. Its a known issue that they have not fixed because the whole team is working on drum roll: UI 2.0 which bombed during public tests due to mixed reviews.

There is also a light mech spotting bug that they haven't taken care of or forgot about because of drum roll: UI 2.0 which bombed during public tests due to mixed reviews. So if your targeted buy missiles and you have a light with spot lock on you the angle dips so that short and medium cover does nothing to protect you.

The arch angle from launch to max peak is also to0 steep causing missiles to miss cover completely.

A good vid to watch is No Gut No galaxy Sean Jager 40 in canyon network posted Nov 7 you get a good view how broken the mechanic is getting. I'll find a link and edit it in.

I kill people constantly with the LRM5 cat. Varying degrees of "good".

My record is a 124 match score w/ 950dmg done...with a bunch of LRM5's. Then again, I'm a LRMWhisperer hehe
