Balance is in the hands of how you can use them as a player against others, thus is the way of the indirect fire weapons. i kinda agree that missiles have suffered the worst because they made the most obvious boats, they had all sorts of trajectory speed and splash damage problems, and many people couldn't use cover. Now it's all changed and i think the rewards are there for a good lurmer and nothing at all for a bad one. lurms are the ultimate support weapon you really need to work with others not just spotting but to send in the rain when the enemy is least likely to run and hide in time. they can be weak and deadly depending on the user moreso than as with direct fire weapons. the missiles themselves work really well now, if ecm was being spammed like old times yeah i'd say lurms are hard done by but since Bap got turned into eccm instead then yes lurms are as effective as they should be. i'd leave it well alone.
so here it is, a fairly good interpretation of lurms in the field...

Here's what it sounds like in this game.
Newbies using LRMs vs other newbies:
It's so easy, anyone can use it.
Newbies using LRMs vs veterans:
It's so ineffective, LRMs need a buff!
LRMs vs newbies reaction:
How am I supposed to avoid this OP weapon? They need to be nerfed. They are point and click!
LRMs vs veteran reaction:
lol Lurms
Veterans using LRMs vs veterans:
FFS guys, SPOT FOR ME
Veterans using LRMs with good spotters vs anyone:
LURMS BLOCK OUT TEH SUN!
That is the jist of how LRMs are considered by the community.
AMS is effective, but not enough people carry it and/or are not truly threatened by LRMs in general.
