I would love to scout in a phoenix hawk, enough punch to be painful and speed and jump jets plus no ammo constraints so you can stay behind enemy lines for a while.
If the boards are like they are in the video's then the scout class will be alot of fun, the null signature is amazing and with lots of places to hide you should be able to avoid contact with all but the faster mechs which you can then fight head to head in a slightly heavier recon mech.
In the old games the boards were reletivly flat with very little hiding places so lighter mechs were at a decided disadvantage, if they up the terrain like it looks likt htey are going to then every lance will need a lighter mech to counter the other teams light scout mech otherwise they will just pot shot you and run without being detectable because of the talents in the scout tree.
Fun time to me it is the difference between infantry fodder and specialized recon/ranger tactics.

15% is plenty to have an average of at least one per company (12 mechs) per battle. That is all your *really* need, though having someone in each lance with at least a few of the command skills might be helpful.

Huh. Looks like page 8 got to that first. No update on it since, though...
Hopefully we've lost some of that artillery stuff, not keen on that sort of thing.

I hope its not that bad but now I'm worried.
My guess would be an arrow IV shot every minute. Nothing devistating on it's own, but don't think you're safe camping out after being spotted.

I voted Scout though for my first. However I would be more keen on Commander if I knew how well teams are setup and what sort of time we have pre-match. I don't want to hit the ground with 11 random players during the first couple weeks of this game and most of them don't chat etc.
Why put ourselves through the headache of trying to run a team of players who are also just finding there way around.
Week 3-4 I will switch to Command and get great at it hopefully.
