So how come you haven't noticed that you can get those gold consumables for free now? And why do you think T4 tanks end up against T8s? Also the premium tank model doesn't hold true to MWOs hero mechs, as the WoT system sells you a complete and "optimised" (via lack of options) tank whereas you will ALWAYS need to fix a hero mech to fit the shifting meta. Also WoT gives out free premium tanks with regularity. Sure they're usually T3 Soviet tanks, but a free garage slot is a free garage slot whatever way you look at it.

gold consumables for free lol wat game u playing m8 there not free at all u can just purchase them with credits instead which is just a way to remove the P2W that this game had on it and why do i think T4 end up with T8 is because thats what happend when i last played a game which was sometime last year and as been probs a few more patches since then but still its a F2P game thats costs way more then MWO.

So you're saying that putting zero money into the game, and then getting the same premium consumables, is not free? Did you miss how you get them for crazy things like "playing a game in a Tiger on an African map"? And I guess you missed the tightened matchmaking that now has a max of two tier levels difference since about... oh, two years now? Even then you weren't getting T4s in a T8 match unless it was one of the light Scouts that had high-tier matching and which have since been pushed up another tier because their job is scouting in high-tier games.

Okay mate, keep on bein' crazy.

Nice try with the "new incentives" to buy a package... but as i said several times before... No Infos, no Deal... i honestly don´t care much about a few new cockpititems as long as i don´t know [badword] about WHAT i purchase... one year after open beta time for "Crowdfunding" is way over imho, and thus no more trustful sypathy-purchases like i did with the founders package...

With the new perks the Uller package just became interesting... 30 days of premium isn't something to throw off board, considering the price. Things are shaping up a bit better now.

Now let's see what Feb 4th brings and then, depending on the result, I will make my best to reward PGI with what I can afford.
Thank you for the step in the right direction.

indeed.

the question is: will you get ALL of the timing based rewards. or just the 30 days premium? will someone who pays during march only get that little statue thing, or all rewards except the 30 days, because he was too late?

I had the same doubt. I bought the Uller package and got them all instantly (30 days, 3 "I don't care" cockpit items and the colour package). I guess that as time goes by, these offers will be disabled. I believe is something similar to the Phoenix early bird promotion.

I'm just confused why there isn't a forum post or something to announce the changes. It saddens me, as it goes in line with the poor communication efforts PGI/IGP demonstrates. In my language we have a common expression that translates to "they aren't even good to themselves".

Really must suck for you not to have your Kodiak.... but anyways I guess the prices are not going to get any sweeter but PGI please give us information about the mechs and the unique* modules.

*as in the modules that are with each package.

How about instead of throwing more shiny objects at us to boost sales, you drop the prices of packages to $20 intervals and make the A La Carte option start at $35? Then just use some math so at 4 (or more) mechs A La Carte = the Daishi collection (or each preceding one after 4 up to 7 in case someone just doesn't want 1 mech) in cost.

I bet this would work a lot better.

Hey look, another feel good bar for people with this grab deal. Still waiting on my faction loyalty bonus to be implemented with the phoenix pack I wasted money on btw...

What I find funny is during the whole 3PV debacle you guys basically said that the hardcore battletech fan who purchased the founders pack really based just solely on nostalgia that you couldn't solely base a business model on making those people your customers that you needed a wider player base which fine fair enough... but then you come out with yet another grab deal right after the phoenix package doing what? Going for that nostalgia pool of cash once again. Nah, still not interested PGI... lets see if you can bring this game beyond a minimally viable product before you get anymore cash, that's my thoughts...

Ugggghhhh....

I want to write something that makes valid points on how I feel about the state of the game but I know I'm just whining....
Oh well.

On one hand, the core gameplay is fun. Like really fun. I really enjoy my time when I play. But on the other hand, that fun factor goes away really REALLY fast and I move onto a different game and eventually I come back to this and go "OMG SO COOL!"

I want more than just more mechs... Personally, I'd pay to have the privilege of playing in different game modes. Let me buy map packs for cryin' out loud. Otherwise I'm fighting slightly different looking mechs in the same situations over and over again.

I know everyone complains about all of this already. I just feel like this game is SOOO close to being much more than what it is it makes it frustrating as hell!

Anyway... New mechs are too pricey. Especially when there's no stats to go by either. (Heck, current mechs are too pricey)

Don't know what they are capable of, not interested. At the moment, they're just concept art to me.

No. Putting in Maps as Premium Content would kill this game. In a Free To Play game it is actually the Players that are the content, the game itself is merely a stage. It is the Free Players that provide the fun for those that pay to support the game, despite what most think a F2P game needs to treat Free Players with the same amount of respect, rights and privileges as Premium Players. If you don't then you are alienating the Free Players, setting the game up so that players feel like they don't have a choice in paying for the game and either driving players away or having them be far less willing to open their wallets.

Locking out sections of game content, the stage itself, is a rather big deal. When you do this you aren't only putting a paygate to the game but you are also segregating the playerbase. Free Players feel pressured by the game to spend money and Premium Players are put into a pool that excludes the Free Players, the players that you are often shooting in matches.

This means that Premium Players are in their own little utopia where they don't have to deal with those silly Free Players that don't understand the game. Except their player pool is a ghost town by comparison, there are less players to pick from, finding a match takes far longer and there is far less variety in those you play against. Doing this actually hurts the players that fund the game by making the experience of playing the game much, much worse.

Premium Players, those willing to spend money on the game, find themselves not able to enjoy the game as much and are pushed away. Free Players feel pressured by the model and are pushed away from the game. You'll start to hemorrhage players and many games cannot survive that.

There are some exceptions. Call Of Duty does Map Packs like this and it's players lap it up for the most part. Difference here is that there was already a commitment to the game that they bought, you spend $60 on that title and there was already a massive playerbase. It was still an exploitative means to gather money from a playerbase that was wanting more out of the game they bought and the only reason why it worked was that this was done later in the lifecycle of the series, a series that had regular installments.

Many games have tried this same model for Premium Games and been crippled by the backlash.

Things I would rather do with $50-$500.

- Buy a completed game.
- Take my women to dinner.
- Fly anywhere in a 2000 mile radius
- Upgrade the graphics card on my PC (which I did)
- New tires on my motorcycle (which I also did)
- Go to Vegas BABY!! (shoulda done this)
- Get that wicked 1/4 sleeve tattoo I have been talking about for the last 10 years (probably never will)
- Buy an RC car like I had when I was a kid and make all the neighbor kids jealous
- Botox injections (not because I want it, because it would be a better thing to spend money on than this game)

Save your money and wait for the Cbill release of these mechs!! They haven't told you a damn thing about these mechs.

Why can't you just be clear on what you are charging for so we can make an informed purchase. I am waiting on more information before giving anymore of my money to promote this behavior. No one knows wtf a warhorn is. No one knows what your "social rewards" are. No one knows what your exclusive modules are. I mean seriously. Explain to me why I would be buying an extremely expensive mystery box from you PGI?

I'm sure this has been repeated many times in this behemoth of a thread, but if you (PGI) put in content beyond new mechs and show us that you're building something worth buying into, then I will buy the $240 Clan pack. But I'm not putting in another dime until that happens.

I truly wish you guys the best, and I appreciate your efforts of trying to heal the hurt feelings. Keep it going to UI 2.0 AND CW; only then will you be getting more money from me.

I may be more interested in the clans, if I knew how the engines were going to work. I'm a light pilot, and getting into a light that only moves 97kph given the current game - scares me lol.

Alright, UI 2.0 is a step forward. It's not perfect, but if it lets you guys do a lot more, then good! You're halfway there to getting me to spend $240!
