Clan Package Thoughts

The other packages are about in line with every other package PGI released. At the top end of the spectrum, you are spending $10/mech, getting free mech bays for them all, getting 90 days of premium, getting in cockpit items, forum items, "digital artwork" (which while it may end up very pretty is not that big a deal), and more. Overall, for what you spend, it is one hell of a deal.
That said, I understand why people would want to choose the mechs from the list that they want. Unfortunately, you cannot. Nor could you in Project Phoenix or Saber. Apparently they had great success with that project, and PGI is a company. You cannot fault them for reusing a successful sales method. Without people paying, none of us are playing. Keep that in mind. If people actually believed the vitriol they spew about MWO's current state, nobody would be playing. Instead the same voices (and some new) keep lashing out, shutting off the forums, and logging into the game to play a game they apparently hate. Nonsense.
The storm will blow over. The rage will subside. In 6 months, the Clans arrive. For that, I am happy.

Even still they will be more than $10 MC wise. Look at mechs that come with XL engines and upgrades like the Raven 3L (2350 mc, $9.40) Now change those XLs to Clan, DHS, endo, Clan weapons and the MC prices will still be over $10. These aren't spiders running {Scrap} engines and Mac guns.

Anyways, I'm a legendary overlord, and I bought the Masakari Pack. QQ all you want forum warriors! I'm rolling in with the clans woo!!!
To be clear, I am not 100% happy with the game, yet I still bought cuz clans. Clantastic. Clanariffic. Clantacular. I can't justify spending $500 to pay for a shiny gold skin though. At least not until I get a better job Obviously it'll be a golden timberwolf.

Actually Pariah to point out the mechs are $10 a piece all the way up the chart, it's better done than Phoenix where the mid range packages where totally not worth it compared to Overlord. This time around stopping at any point gives you mechs for the same price but extra stuff ontop of it if you keep going

If the devs showed us more transparency like they have repeatedly promised, there most likely be less rage. As for a successful sales model, I don't think that Phoenix is a good example (IMHO).
1. They had to add content to get people to buy in (paint scheme). And they included more premium for your buck.
2. The mechs did not look like the concept art shown in paint scheme (big deal for me) or quite in geometry (not as big for me), but many were incredibly disappointed.
3. Sales were slower until they announced Saber which REQUIRED a purchase from Phoenix to get, even still, they kept Phoenix open past its launch.
However, the clan package is more expensive than Phoenix per mech ($10 per mech vs $6.67- $80 for 12 mechs). Not a big deal for me, they just are not going to get $240 from me until they close the deal on other things : UI 2.0, and CW. No Community Warfare, no money from me. The gameplay is lacking with only two game modes. That makes this feel like a blatant money grab. I have nothing against supporting MWO, I regularly buy MC, but I want to see some content please.
EDIT: Remember months ago (maybe even a year) when there was a poll on whether or not people would buy a "Clan Founders Package"? Well, here it is.

While I would agree that Twitter is a terrible place to share info, apparently new map next major patch, Skirmish mode on the 5th, and DX11 may be out in a month. Along with the UI 2.0 foolishness. I just hope they took a page from smurfy in regards to that graphical disaster. They have new actual content coming out shortly - supposedly. I know their word is not good for much, but there is one thing they are reliable about: putting out paid content on time. If that paid content requires other things to be in game first, then by extension those will be done too.

If everyone refused to buy in once again to another sale or cash grab PGI will have to take notice ! Stop following the carrot !!!

I agree with most folks here that $500 for a Khan Mech is a little ridiculous. Perhaps if with that purchase you got the Masakari package as well as the Khan Mech (essentially making the Khan Mech a $260 purchase) then maybe it may have been a better deal, but even that is excessive to say the least.

Agreed. I did a double take on those, expecting that it was that. Saw nothing stating so, however.
It would also help if PGI stated what the unique modules were, as well as what the heck a "Warhorn" is. First I have ever seen of it. Does it mean my bleeding edge tech mech will sound like a rusted, beaten up jalopy when it kills someone?

They still have not implemented all the Phoenix content yet (medallions, in game title, etc), so I wouldn't hold my breath on explanations of new items.

I imagine the "Warhorn" is going to be something to do with CW, allowing you to start an invasion or something similar - however, part of me hopes it's a massive klaxon akin to the music that the HM plays upon taking down an enemy. Or even just a horn for beeping to tell friendlies to move!
I assume we'll see more info over the next month or so as to what the modules and the Warhorns are as well as the hardpoints for the variants.
