So I got in to position where I figured the fight would move too and shut down. (I know, shut down and people scream bloody murder) then a zeus walks right infront of me totally oblivious to the danger lurking in the locust. So I powered up, lined up the shot and fired twice, dead. (he had an XL.) Next was an LRM king crab. Just walking by, dead mechs every where and did not see me. Again an XL check and was rewarded. Now it was time to get behind something to hide. Kill one mech something happened, kill two, people come looking. So now I get down below and turn the corner below the mountian and what appears a red CT streak crow. he Never got a shot off, gunned down by a locust. So now I noticed there three of them left to hunt me down. Just waited with my back to the mountain for someone to come over and they did, but they still had LRMs and stayed at 400 or more meters

The squirrel that didn't even have to run to get the team to chase. I salute you.

Piloting your natural enemy makes you know what that enemy wants to do, and therefore predict his next move...which, given the obscene damage on a DWF and the short-range nature of both predator and prey, causes the enemy lights to explode quite quickly.
That, and you don't give a crap about dying. LRM rain? Enemy mechs? I don't care, If I sit, I explode. If I move, I explode. If I move, however, I get to fire at the enemy - and the aim of the game is to make the enemy team use more body bags than your own team, and my guns are bigger than their guns. If it inspires teammates to charge as well, then all the better; because pugs don't realise that pushing unbalances the enemy team, and keeping up pressure on them means that their laser vomit can't cool down.

More people need to obtain this attribute. Cowardice messes up more of my teams than I care to think about when a little bit of courage would have run the match the entire opposite way.

Had another one later on River City where I kept the attention of a Dire and a Marauder with the help of an ECM-toting ally. Legged the Marauder and got in a duel with an enemy ACH, which I more or less had won when the Dire got a lucky hit on me and I died. My team rolled those guys too.

high damage is great but keeping 2 or more mechs out of the fight is often more times critical.
still nothing as satisfying as that fatty with it's back to you. bonus if it is an LRM packing XL eng

This was not the first time I have had things like this happen, but the three times now on alpine really stand out due to having to run over half the map legged to get another or more kills. The really funny thing about this is, my best matches in locust's I have been legged early.

Oh man, he ain't lyin'. I remember a match back when clans came out where I got legged and wound up murdering a laservomit SCR in plain view by turning my dead leg toward him and torso-twisting like a manic chihuahua.

It works. It bloody works.I have no words for how hilarious it is to hide behind a burned-out shell of an atlas and everyone just walks right past you. Everyone should try this at some point, just for great laughs!
The only time that I got spotted was by a Streakdog. Darned CAP allowed him to see a powered-down mech :/ Needless to say, SSRM6 hail was incoming...
PS Tim East, your sig is outdated. ArcturusWolf -> Fox With A Shotgun. I took that free name change a while back

how do you tolerate using the 4ML build ? its pretty hot and no duration quirks like the 3M
for MPL users do you prefer 4mpl with the 170 for more bite or 3mpl with ecm +190 ?
so 18 vs 24 dmg eg; 4mpl does one extra 3mpl alpha in the same 10sec time to fire 3 alphas
on a related note has anyone noticed you cause more disruption, annoyance and squirrely festivities with a non-ecm locust anyways ? imagine how great it would be to squeeze the ecm onto the 1E thou, its kinda wasted on the pb
lastly do you think pgi would ever bring the locust IIc to the game ?
1: I don't. I hate MLs with a passion.
2: I don't always use lasers on the PB, but when I do I like 2MPL+2SPL.
3: It's because they can see you. If they see you, they can chase you. Same reason I paint my Locusts stupid bright colors. Even the PB.
4: Ever? Maybe. Soon? No. I hope they do though. I love clan battlemechs.

I run 2mpl/2sl with ecm and xl190 or sometimes 4 spl/2mg/ecm with a 190 and lots of shaved armor (0 head and arms) or with an xl180. It makes a good surgeon if you target damaged mechs

I don't run 4ML on it. It just feels underwhelming. I it also feels awkward in the mechlab, when I'm trying to figure out how I want to cram all that equipment into the torsos.
I run mixed greens (2MPL, 2ML) when I want to feel like a special snowflake, or 3MPL.
By the numbers on smurfy, the mixed greens build gives better dps than 4ML, with a better alpha. I think it's because the shorter beam duration on 2 of the MPLs gives the DHS a chance to start dissipating some of the heat a bit sooner, so that and the bigger damage on the MPLs gives a fractionally better damage output per second.
Its silly, but I prefer it using green wubs one way or the another.
LCT-IIC? Yes please.

MLs in a Locust are heresy. Kult of Speed demands that you use red wubs and the biggest, loudest engine you can find.
