Do really want Urbanmech. Done wannabe's with a spider 5k, did fine. And that's just an attempt to be a stock urbie. If I get real urbie it would be souped up version of the stock.
It would get taken more seriously if things like dropship mechanics where respawn is determined by tonnage or money caps come into play.
A urbanmech would be good for noobs because it would force them to learn things like taking cover and moving from cover to cover.
Even a stock urbie your just worried about two weapons theres a effectiveness gain for having less to worry about and keeping it simple.
Every map in this game has cover its not long flats. Where I thought it would do worst, alpine, turned out to do good. Alpine has a city, ridges everywhere to pop tart.
In a base defense or skirmish it has potential of being a pain in the neck. In resource/conquest its better off just looking for a fight.

Instead of making this move.... give the Raven some love.
Fix the f'ing hit box and give it the same treatment you've given every other 'old' mech... variable equipment slots and a hero mech.

Also, make the hero mech have four ECM slots. Call it the "Blackout"

NGNG #100. They do -NOT- say it will be 35 tons. Listen from the 26 minute mark. Someone comments offhand that all the mechs they're speculating it could be are 35 tons, but that is a whole hell of a lot different from saying it WILL be 35 tons.
Russ simply says it will be a light mech. 35 tons is NOT confirmed people. Do the research yourself. Listen to the friggen stream that everyone keeps quoting and you'll hear it for yourself.

Some people love their Urbies. Not my taste, but to each their own.
Main problem I see (besides terribad speed) is lack of variants. There are only two variants at this time (UM-R60 and UM-R60L), with another post-clan invasion (UM-R63) near our timeline, and even with hardpoint inflation they're so similar it's going to be hard to differentiate them.

Well PGI just need to make the 3x Variant baseline each oe focusing in heavy Ballistic/missile/Energy hardpoints in the Arm.
Because who wouldn't luv an Urbie Capable to carry and fire a LRM 20 or 2x LRM 10/15 on a single arm!! (pretty much franken fitting a Catapult arm there)

Two: Not the Spector, either.
Three: all I can say is let's take a wait and see attitude about this, and when it comes out. We'll all know.
Personally, it may not be a Light `Mech, rather a fast Medium, or some such. Maybe a Heavy. Who the Frankenstein knows? We'll just have to see what shakes loose out of the orange juice.

They already have all the art assets and everything made for it already. Plus, it was supposed to have been released awhile ago, but didnt due to netcode/CryEngine/speedcap issues.
