C'mon Urbanmech!

(I know its only 30tons)

What is more controversial than only a SINGLE hero variant for a mech with no cbill purchasable variants?

The cigar and hat adds the 5 tonnes :> /fixed

lol, you know full well that if they released the Urbanmech these boards would be filled with hateful rants about how PGI screwed us with a completely worthless deathtrap. People would buy one, take it out, get killed in 2 minutes while doing 20 damage, and realize that they never want to relive the experience.

Yes, I know. Hehe, but I don't care how bad they turn out. It would be fun to have them and do 12 vs. 12s with them in private matches.

Would the Cigar also add a CP mounted Machine Gun?

I wish they would announce what mech it was because if it's a mech I want then I could add MC now and get TDK with the left over MC now but I don't want to add MC just for them to release a mech I don't want and have all of the MC sitting around but if I don't add MC right now and I do end up getting the new hero light then I would hate myself for not getting TDK on sale right now.

SILENCE HERETIC! With the mechanics and Meta, the Wolfhound could be a very viable mech. There is no such thing as a DOA mech so far, even with those proclaiming one, they are ALWAYS wrong. So sayeth the Orion, Victor, Oxide, Spider, Blackjack, Kintario, Shadowhawk, Griffin, Wolverine, Cataphract, Thunderbolt, Battlemaster, Cicada, Trebuchet, Stalker, and Highlander. Heck, it would have been easier to list mechs that haven't been proclaimed DOA by someone at some point in time.

The Battle Master would like to have a word with you, about that statement, its gone from a sleek powerful killing machine to a worn out weight lifter thats really let itself go, it would have those words but its to busy feeling embarrassed hiding out with the other worn out tractor tyre's

Surely those are cockpit items that cost no weight or fill a module slot

Huh, my Battlemasters do quite good work for me (especially my 1G, with 3.67 W/L and 3.18 K/D ratios).

Even my Locusts mostly have positive ratios (the 1V has a low W/L, but its K/D ratio is over 1).

Really, there are only 3 mechs you don't see much of, the Quickdraw, Trebuchet, and Awesome, and even then when you do see them they often do quite well (since only die-hards in love tend to drive them).

Mechwarrior goes to the Bolshoi Ballet ?

Your right it is great artwork, but I just can't conceptualise tons of metal doing that, I go more with the lumbering run, rather than skipping through the flowers

I feel your pain, as a customer, but its good business practice, from a certain point of view.

the ironic part of this being that the Jager and Urbie both have 6 tons of armor stock......

The outer Jager-shell is actually paper-mache.

My heart yearns for Urbanmech, but my head says Firestarter.

While i would love for it to be the Firestarter, which has more than enough variation between its models within the timeline to have separate and unique variants, introducing a Mech of this caliber would phase out both the Jenner and Raven as i stated in another thread.

Picture if you will:

1. A mech with a slim and slender profile comparable to the Spider and Commando (Slightly larger).
2. A mech with the payload capacity of a Jenner in respect to both Lasers and Missiles.
3. A mech with 1 and 2, also having Jump Jets.
4. A mech with 1, 2 and 3 also having ECM capability.

So you have a Mech with the combined strengths of all Lights with none of the weaknesses associated with each respective chassis... aside from the fact it's a Light but that's a mere technicality.

The only reason to drive any other Light Mech would be personal taste at the expense of utilizing such a vastly powerful chassis that would bring absolute terror upon anyone currently fearful of Lights and a new found respect to those who do not.

As much as i would enjoy having a Firestarter and hate garaging my beloved Jenner, and call me a doomsayer if you want, but i feel the Firestarter would be a bit too much. The Wolfhound however would be a lot too little and nobody would drive the thing if PGI implemented any of the iterations of its models as is.

So Javelin it is, then, yes?

The recent Oxide release and the subsequent PGI comments that it is a bit weak considering its payload type and hints that it was a test case for a future light tend to suggest a missile-heavy light might be coming soon, and the Javelin is a best-fit.

hit boxes and agility are the great equalizers. Much as the worse agility and horrible peripheral vision has kept the ShadowHawk form being the 4th Horseman of the Apocalypse (just close) so too, could simple tweaks like that keep them all competitive. There are still many people on here who insist the SHAD is {Scrap} because of the poor peripheral vision. (And then there are folks like me who will wreck pretty much anyone from my Shad., go figure)
