I have a question: for those of you who have elited or mastered Atlases, are there any variants that get some burn other than the DDC or do they all ride the pine (or get sold)?
Sittin on 12.5 million cbills right now, here's my crazy plan: I have XP on the RS because of the trial mech (I don't currently own it). If I dedicate tomorrow evening to playing it, I can probably have enough to get the basics out of the way before the sale ends Wednesday morning. I can go ahead and buy the mech, get the basic skills immediately, and sell it. I don't need to elite this mech to unlock the DDC master slot because I already have several Assault mechs elited. This will result in 2 million cbills of savings due to not having to buy DHS and endo to actually make it functional.
Before selling I will then have about 7.8 million cbills. The combined price of the the DDC and D on sale is a little over 10 million. The resale value of an Atlas is around 2-3 million (should be so even with the sale, can someone check for me? thx), so I can sell my RS for some extra dough. I may come up slightly short for 10 million but I will probably make that cash difference through grinding the trial.
A(t)las, I will still have to spend 5 million eventually on upgrades for the D and DDC (or maybe only 4 million if I opt to just basic out the D without endo). And if I don't end up using the the D-variant much, I can sell that too and at least recoup another 2-3 million.
The end result: a mastered DDC done on a budget of just under 16 million cbills.
Is this a plan or what?
[edit: On the RS trial, I may have underestimated how painful it is to pilot this thing. It's like a giant robot prostrate exam.]
