not a single delay

LOLwut?

http://www.reddit.co...ing_a_deadline/

Only in the past Month and a half have they made any reasonable deadlines. Also the little detail of these features missing there previous 2 deadlines by nearly a year combined.

A glimmer of hope in recent times. But their stance on the basic functionality of the game and user interface is just astounding, and the reasoning compounds this to near lunacy. :)

84% of solo drops due to terrible team limits means people like to drop solo. They aren't even come close to having analyzed the data enough. Nevermind showing us the data of launches BEFORE the 4 man limit was in place. Not like that comparison would be VERY useful. :D

Guys, this game will not come to the XBone. PGI's development philosophy is ill suited to the console space, and their business model absolutely will not work in the console environment.

First, consoles are loaded with AAA, high budget, high production value, feature complete products. The console crowd expects this, and will ignore anything less. For example, the lack of VOIP is a point of contention for this game, but every game on the XBox has had it for three generations now. On the console, not only is VOIP expected, it also must be robust and fully integrated with a Friends list, like it has been for XBox games for over a decade. PGI isn't ready for this market.

Second, and most importantly, the console crowd simply will not pay $15-30 every month for a new mech, or "premium time", or whatever else that is essential to PGI's business model. There is way too much competition in the console space for any console gamer to accept PGI's offer.

So put your tinfoil hats away. The design philosophy of UI 2.0 has nothing to do with consoles. Rather, it was obviously dreamt up by someone who doesn't build, tweak, and play different mech configurations frequently, and certainly not as part of a group of friends where making quick changes between rounds is important so as to not keep the group waiting. UI 2.0 is the result of a detached perspective, nothing more.

If 16% is too small of a minority to cater to for a group queue, what was the % of players who wanted 3PV (Something that I see is so rarely used that I occasionally forget it exists)?

The 16% are still being catered to with the launch module. Premium private matches will help them do what they want as well.

Just because they aren't giving you exactly what you want doesn't mean they aren't providing you with something you can use.

Lets not forget the KEY point

Who wants a smurphy style mechlab to "preview" your mech?

Who wants a smurphy style mechlab to "build" your mech?

Righto.

Lets get smurphy to rebuild his mechlab so it's like ui 2.0, and only shows us the smurphy style "everything" loadout when it's time to "Review" the mech, not build it.

Because, as PGI's own numbers clearly show, players are in love with the current mechlab in ui 2.0, it is great for new players.

Will I be able to search the lobby to find other groups to drop against?
Will there be rewards such as Cbills, XP, Achievements?
All signs point to no in both cases, so why bother?

Because the Launch module still provides you with benefits, even if they aren't the exact ones you are looking for... yet.

You're treating this as a moment in time, and not a continual improvement process. One or two missing features in the short term doesn't mean those features will never come.

What benfits? 3+3+3+3 or 4 people max or no ability to search, getting tiring watching them babble on about stuff and pretending to use % and statistics.

I will honestly say this, you negatives are the only few i see here, those with the inability to accept change or think nothing can become better. If anything all i see are a bunch of disgruntled founders who think thier words and opinions outweigh any sense.

Ummm, which benefits? I get to pay for the privilege to drop with my friends, but receive none of the benefits necessary to 'advance' in the game, and if I wan't to, say buy a new module, I have to go farm the poor downtrodden PUGS? Plus all the 'benifits' of premium time are to be negated in this queue (Cbill, XP bonuses)
And it sounds like I'll either have to know people forming groups to drop against, and jump through another handful of hoops before I can push the launch button.
Forming a 12 man is a big enough pain in the ass, everything described sounds even worse if you're less than 12.

Large groups were 'temporarily' removed over 480 days ago, and according to the interview, it's not likely to be seen in 2014. How is that 'short term'?
Chat system hasn't adequately worked since day one of this game, you want me to pin my hopes of organizing a drop using that?

I *have* been patient for over 480 days, now it's time to call them on their bullshit regarding this topic.

4 man groups will still exist. And you know what? I've been in groups of 5, or 6, or 7 (and even more!). You know what we do? We break up into groups of 2, 3 or 4 and then drop and (here is the part you may be having a disconnect): we STILL HAVE FUN!! And when someone comes or goes, then we redo the groups as needed. And during the whole course of these events, we STILL HAVE FUN!!

The theory that the gaming experience is "ruined" because your 6 man group has to split into 2 groups is... well, it's possible, but I'm going to have to draw some conclusions about what kind of gamers we're dealing with here.

I remember the exact same discussions happening with WoW; "I can't get 40 people together!" "I can't get 25 people together!" "I can't get 10 people together! WHY AM I BEING DENIED ACCESS TO CONTENT!!"

It's ok though. I still think we're both pretty. :D
