but if you don't have dedicated spotters, you just invite somebody to a drop, and tell him to get in a raven, or just invite a raven pilot to drop with you.
isn't that 500 times simpler than getting a 4 man together so you don't get stomped because your team is full of noobs who get pwnt by lrm?
yes it is.
and since it's easier it should be less useful
Ummm, if a single LRMboat and spotter actually was enough to turn the tide, that might almost have made sense bro. Very seldom is that the case though. And I am relatively sure, that according to paul, 84% of players are NOT doing that.

A Spotter and 2 would be a better bet o be Game affecting. And 3 man teams happen more often than 4 man!

Well you will just lose. There ARE counters to 1v1 LRM boats in the open.
Make him take an assault or heavy mech no ams to make it at least fair or he'll just cover the distance in a light and leave you tickling with back up weaps while you get pwnt.

and, supposedly according to Paul, the 16% is made up of all the various sized premades, meaning, 2,3 or 4 man drops are the minority, and the most likely way to face one is to be in one of your own (when MM actually remotely works)

unless that Assault or Heavy is built around Gauss, ac5 or AC2 with some PPC oe ER LArge back up. Then he won't even survive to get in range to use his mighty LRMs. I have been gleefully sitting back out of LRM range in my BNC-3E, ACs plugging away and amputating side torsos off of Champion Stalkers for the last week. Musta worked OK, since I managed to master all 3 banshees this week.

Keep believing what ever it takes to make your inability to adapt easier to play off.
I pug 75% of matches, and drive Mediums. Of all my mediums exactly one, has LRMs, my Phoenix Griffin, which has a single LRM15. None of them have AMS or ECM. I don't have a team to coordinate with. And I am doing just fine, and in fact regularly enjoying feasting on LRM boats. You, I don't care the Meta. Players who can't adapt die easy in any Meta, so you have never been any serious competition at all. Feel free to set up a private match when it comes along, or if we cross in drop, try to duel. Then come back and here and post new excuses for your inadequacy.

staying outside 1k on anything but alpine would be hard against an A1 while staying in the open. Best not fluff that first shot because landing more good ones after the rain starts just isn't easy with the screen shake.

I've found good fire lanes almost everywhere, and the places that they are lacking, that same cover interferes with LRMs, places like river city. And up close my quad acs on the Banshee are MORE effective. And an A1 (really, lol?)? So my only real tough choice is whether to play with him by taking him one ear at a time (about 5 seconds of concentrated fire) or simply core his massive CT out? Because you forget, ACs also provide screenshake (and Paul is reducing the LRM screenshake anyhow) and once he starts twisting to protect his internals, he ain't holding ANY target locks.

Funny that you think winning and getting rich(in game) is a bad thing!
I am both happy and sad about the screen shake nerf coming... Sad cause I think it is close to how we would be shaking if hit by missiles... happy cause I now have whiplash from trying to see while shaking so much.

Sorry, closest I came to playing COD was Quake III, and that's cause they shared the same engine.
Clearly, you need sandvich.
There. Have sandvich. Better.

11 mechs hiding behind the hill menas, 1 spotter to kill, and then 11 mechs who can't defend at short range, who have conceded the initiative. Stay at range, kill the spotter, then use hard cover, ECM and AMS overlap to flank and decimate the 11 big bad LRMboats.
Any other hysterical, hypothetical situations you need debunked? You see, we actually ARE aware of the issues. And how if one can, simply by using smart tactics, negates something 90% of the time, it's not really that big a threat. We've also noticed that they have reduced the presence, without actually overtaking the Meta (as the tournament winners proved) of Poptarting, which anyone actually paying attention, knows has been MWOs biggest unbalance bugbear ever since the Heavy Metal was introduced.

and I certainly am not making this an epeen contest. Short of 1v1 duels, there are seldom clean venues to determine who is the better pilot, and being a better pilot does not actually have anything to do with one's grasp of tactics, in and of itself.
LRMs involve thinking beyond the 1v1 level, and that, sir, is where most of the player base, even the mighty 12 man "L33ts" fail. I can and have died to LRMs, I have died to them pre-patch, but it's pretty bloody rare. And usually only happens when I am on a team that sees LRMs (or poptarts before them) and huddle in a little ball wetting themselves. Amazingly, anytime I have been on a team, or led a team that simply followed, that showed initiative and who actually committed, to virtually any plan, we win.
Anytime we huddle and cry, it's a crapshoot, with significantly reduced returns.

I think you might be underestimating the lack of cover. ie there is none> you will be getting hit the whole time while you can also hit him the whole time. So firing lanes are neither here nor there. But way better off going for the CT than trying to de-ear an A1 in an assault with dakka, faster time to kill and it somewhat mitigates screen shake at least trying to shot center mass.
Though I wouldn't expect any A1 to really lose lock and stop firing for a second in this sort of situation even while he torso twists and JJs about.
