Stock Mech Monday Question:

Can I reallocate my armor from stock as long as I don't add additional armor? i.e. Take armor from rear torso and move to the front?

Jody

No. You have to keep the armor in its original locations.

Oh, I am all over this! Already thinking about what mechs I wanna retrofit. I already only buy chassis found in the DCMS. Now there's finally a place to play the mechs as they were originally intended! I will be there next SMM.

To clarify further, if you even more one ton of ammo from one torso to an arm or drop/add even one tick of armor, your mech is no longer stock and thereby invalid for these purposes. Everything about the build must resemble a mech that was just purchased.

The only exception I'm aware of is endo/ferro; if your mech has this, and you are downgrading to stock, you do not need to downgrade these. Just proceed to build the mech exactly as the mech would be in stock form and join games underweight.

There are now two events hosted through MechForce Classic for 2x the Stock 'Mech awesomeness during the week.

SMM, and SMEW (SMW), I created a separate thread for the second event as TygerLily's thread is meant for feedback on the SMM ruleset.

We do that I might need some different colors if I have to play as a space viking.

rewrite history to make it "Luthien-esque" with Mercs arriving to try to help evacuate the world?

do we hold stock matches every day as well, just in less quantities? My brother and I will play the game tonight and we would both like to try stock matches!

Jump on teamspeak and see if anyone's on there tonight. Might find some pick-up groups looking to do the same. I'll see if I can check in tonight and shoot metal things with you guys.

How are Clan matches going to be balanced with Stock 'Mech Mondays?

There's been talk of 5 clan vs 8 IS and setups similar... Also that Clan mechs will be limited to stock variant loadouts.

I really need to try this, will idle on the mechforce teamspeak and see if anyone gets on later today.

[Edit] nvm, its even linked in the master mech list B)

- Where can i check on stock loadouts to retrofit mechs exactly like they were when bought? Is the list on smurfy correct?

So everyone has that shiny Thunderbolt-9S in their inventory after the recent giveaway (or at least, had, if you've sold it already). Unfortunately, it comes stock with double heat-sinks, so fat lotta good that's going to do us for these stock matches. Still, it would be awfully nice to be able to use it...

Here's a proposal. In keeping with PGI's style of stock mech design, and using Sarna as a consultant, I've designed the Thunderbolt-1C using the freebie 9S chassis:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b7c177518747368

Reference link:
http://www.sarna.net...s_and_Equipment

My thought is that while double heat-sinks are, indeed, OP for Stock Mech Monday, shouldn't we be able to take these chassis and cast them to another variant that *doesn't* use doubles, while trying to keep as close to canon as possible?

Let me know your thoughts.

(NOTE: The BAP was used to 1) consume a little additional weight, and 2) allow for the possibility of designing additional tier 2 mechs. It can easily be replaced with another medium laser and a hint sink to keep the heat relative other stock mechs).

Rhaythe, that kinda opens the door, and removes the simplicity of shs only, stock only...talk of using such mechs on Mechforce: Classic is ongoing for other nights though.

That was my point. Standardizing on builds for those chassis that are not legal, due to double heat-sinks. If we, as a community, can come up with approved single heat-sink variants, then it's more options to use.

I'm not suggesting everyone come up with their *own* builds; I just threw this one out as an option for discussion.

eh, i think it opens too much room for interpretation. But that is why I feel pretty strongly that basically, we should see 2 types of matches, Tier 1, where no lvl 2 tech or mechs are allowed at all, aka "the succession wars". The Tier 2, which is totally open, any lvl tech, stock mechs, aka "Clan Invasion" which will eventually include combat against stock Clan Mechs, with drop specifics governed and decided for each Event.
