Bed time for you too lol

God, I wish. Workday is just starting.
Also - for your first mech, look into a heavy or a medium. Resist the urge to pilot a light mech or an assault until you get a feel for owning and configuring mechs. Those two categories are not very new-player friendly.

I'd like to, really I would, But my boss would frown more on that than on me typing while my machine is making prototype engine parts.

You are not play MW:O, None of us are. We are only running the Combat engine. The Game is the Clan Invasion. Everything else is peripheral to that.

Probably recommend a HEavy more. Mediums can be awesome, but it's the nuances that make them shine, and it's pretty rare for a new player to have those really down (though not impossible). Of course, I was the guy using a ballistic armed CN9-AH as my learning mech all through CB, back before HSR, so I probably should practice what I preach!

But I think one can seldom go wrong with Jagers, Cataphracts or Orions as their "foundation" mechs. Or if one does go Medium, I say ShadowHawk, all the way! (but if one doe sit wrong, early, it can sour the medium experience in ti's entirety!)

You are trying to change the subject because i made a good point. Amirite or amirite?

Doesn't matter. Go look on Steam's early-access list. The developers can *say* whatever they damn-well please. You buy into early-access based solely on if you will be satisfied by the purchase with the game as-is. Anything more and you're making a risk, not an investment.

Well if they can say what they please they should have offered a free ferrari with every game purchase. That would be a real seller.... CW and VOIP... small potatos lol

Is this what everyone is trying to sooo cleverly hide?

Actually we are kinda pointing out that you are not playing the game. But a mere shell of it. You are not fighting to win planets or resources, You are not facing the Clans and you are still dropping in a company that looks more like the BattleCorps than a House Army/Merc company.

Sigh.

It's called legalese for a reason (as I said). They never promised CW or VOIP anywhere. I'm guessing people saw the IGN article or a forum post where CW was detailed and their intentions were brought forth. So yes. A company can say what they damn-well please provided they use the right words. And CW was never promoted as a feature of the game, only as a direction or goal. If you can find one piece of evidence that PGI swears up and down with LEGAL BACKING that this game will have CW on X-date, I will retract everything. LEGAL BACKING. That does not mean a twitter or forum post.

My first purchased mech was a Hunchback. Awesome new-player mech, because it teaches you to stay off those front lines. But I would agree with your recommendations. Hard to go wrong with a Jager. Too damn versitile.

Did they say we are going to "fighting to win planets or resources, You are not facing the Clans and you are still dropping in a company that looks more like the BattleCorps than a House Army/Merc company." when they were selling the founder packs?

I wouldnt know, Im really asking

So they could have said game includes a free ferrari. As long as their wansnt anything legally backing that it was a promise? Then why did they stop with VOIP and CW. Seems like they could have made up better things to include.

Again. I wouldnt know what was promised or not. Im just curious.

Because they don't want to be outright liars.

(Now you wait. I'm going to get a flood of pissy posts about how we were lied to about 3PV and consumables)

Back then I was Beta Testing, Now we are supposed to be launched, and I am still playing the same game as I did back in Beta With a bunch more Mechs, A few new maps, and no House drops unless I want to give up XP and Cash... Not the game I was "sold" (as in pitched). And yes They have said it Multiple times.

As a non-founder, I believe the Founders deserve better treatment.

Thanks, but No I don't. I figure all of us(Founders and long term players alike) deserve to get a Loyalty bonus and consideration for Canon Units Prior to the Game CW being finally launched. The House Units should have first dibs on fighting Clans, Then Canon Merc, then units like the Law... Unless we bid on a contract. Thats the game I came here to play, not Madden MW:O.

I dont care that much, but im going through a bunch of stuff real quick, and it turns out you do have to fulfill your promises and in the timeframe you specify. If you really want to get into this ill be back later i dont have time to start scanning and copying legal documents. But you cannot say you are selling one thing, then when you sold out, decide not to deliver. It against the law in almost every country on this planet. Also look up vapourware. They are supposed to deliver product in the time frame they state or establish...

again, i do not know what they promised and really dont care. I just smelled BS when you said they can promise whatever they want and say whatever they want. ;) You cant do that. Otherwise.... id like to sell you the most magical game my furry little friend...

Value of Legendary Founders pack was in: vs overlord phoenix w/ saber.

$120--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------$110 (80+30)
Getting 4 Variants (25% cbill) -------------------------------------------------------------18 variants (6x 30% cbill, 10% LP)
Getting 4 Mechbays-------------------------------------------------------------------------18 Mechbays
Getting 90 days of premium--------------------------------------------------------------- 90 days
20K MC ($80 worth)------------------------------------------------------------------------No equivalent
Early access to game-----------------------------------------------------------------------Early access to mechs.
Title--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Title
Name in credits.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------No equivalent
No Equivalent--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Cockpit items
No Equivalent--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Phoenix Colors

Stacked against each other, it seems somewhat imbalanced. 80 dollars worth of MC and $18 worth of mechs versus $160ish worth of mechs. (Not including their mech-bays) Conservative estimates on the mech values for both- just their MC prices were tallied.. not the added value of of 4 (F) heroes or 6 (P) heroes.
The early access to beta isn't really quantifiable, but it's worth quite a bit: vs Early access to 12 and than 6 more variants of mechs, also worth something.
90 days premium for both. $15ish value
1200 MC ($5) worth of Mechbays vs 5400 MC ($22) worth
Phoenix colors..worth about $5-15ish depending on whether those colors would've been cbills, 500, or 1000 MC to unlock.
Titles= equivalently useless.
Medallions = also useless- but worth $8ish
Name in credits: Might've been exciting (at least for me) if the game was anything like it was hyped to be.. (oh Information Warfare, where art thou?) But altogether useless.

MC---------80------0
Mechs-----18------160
Mechbays-5--------22
Premium 15------15
Colors------0-------5-15
Cockpic----0-------8

Total dollar value: $118 Conservatively vs $210-220 Conservatively (All Values derived from $100 MC price point)

Whether that's balanced or not depends on your value of the flexibility of MC vs variants, your opinion of early access to beta vs early access to mechs, and how much value you place on name in credits..

At least with this example.. seems Overlord/Saber got a much better deal.. for less money.

-----------------------------------

Be advised, I'm not whining or complaining about the packages. (I got both..)
I'm pointing out that Founders receiving a little extra meta love (recognition) wouldn't be imbalanced with the other packages.

(That and seeing the values side-by-side was fun.)

What we didn't get: A good chunk of our money actually going towards MWO, since it got sank (and boy, is that the right word) into Tactics instead.

That one thing basically ruined the entire spirit of what we expected as Founders- that our money was going towards developing MWO. Heck, it might have well been blown on trips to Vegas for all the good it did us.

That would be a piss off. People keep saying, you dont have to buy a gold mech! Its not pay to win! Think of it as a way to help fund the game you love! MWTACTICS! lol

That was pretty underhanded. And yeah, frustrating. Though you can't blame PGI for that one. MWTactics is developed by a kitchen-sink's worth of second-hand developers. IGP was probably the one that funneled funds. Or maybe there's a lot of personnel bleed across PGI and Blue Lizard. Who knows.

If they didn't promise it. They could save a lot of money just scrapping it altogether. Sell the clan packages. Let the servers run for another year (don't promise more than a year!). Shut down shop. Why waste all their time and recources on somthing no one was promised.

Because it's their vision?

Just because it's not legally promised as a part of the game doesn't mean there isn't reason to pursue it. All games need context. This one desperately needs it. The gameplay will get stale after too long (trust me).
