Though I always love free ****.... Honestly the Founders package had the best pricing. We got a ton of MC and playtime with all the other stuff as well. I think overall we got the best package. (of course I would have loved 2 variants + the 1 founder for each but come on now, it doesn't take long to make the cash)...

Just doing the math here.

Quote

All 4 exclusive “Founder's BattleMechs.” These Mechs include a lifetime, per-match C-Bill booster.

• $80 value of in-game currency* for in-game item purchases.
• Three-month premium account to MechWarrior Online at launch: Earn XP & C-Bills faster.
• Founder's Tag - sets your status apart from the crowd & get noticed in-game and on the forums.
• Game credits – The player’s name included as one of the “Legendary” in the MechWarrior Online game credits.
• Early access to the game along with Founder's assets availability starts August 7th.

Premium + MC paid was a MAJOR perk. Plus not starting out with Trial mechs and so forth was awesome.

Because it's their vision?

Just because it's not legally promised as a part of the game doesn't mean there isn't reason to pursue it. All games need context. This one desperately needs it. The gameplay will get stale after too long (trust me).

The more im reading, the more i think they are not going to deliver CW. I don't think theyre obligated to either. It looks like all theyre trying to get away with is the very simplest gameplay, and dedicate all there resources to making and selling mechs. What else have they done? Honestly think they bought this game from someone, and they arnt able to add or change very much with the game at all. All they can do is add new characters to sell. God im too tired ill be back tomorrow when i make more sense lol. Yes thats it! They didnt even develop this game themselves... thats why everything takes so long! lol. Like i said in another thread, im in another alpha called "7 days to die". One day someone said on the forum wouldnt it be nice to have voice? IN LESS THAN A WEEK! there was voice in that game lol. Then somone posted that they were getting trolled by someone on voice.... ONE HOUR LATER THEY PATCHED THE ABILITY TO MUTE PLAYERS! lol.

Why is this team sooo slow? People have been asking for voice for years if you look back in the forums. PGI. Who made this game? Where did they go? Why dont you ask them for help? lol

Mechs and maps. 250k for maps really? Is that because you pay somone else to make them? I feel like im putting a puzzle together lol.

I want to play devil's advocate here now:

If they founder want more, why not offer the founders package to those who were not here then. Seems legit based purely on the basis of "I want more".

Some of us didn't know this game existed, as well some didn't have funds (stated earlier by several people).

If you want more, everyone wants more.

End of devil's advocate.....

I think that someone somewhere has to draw a line. I am happy PGI is drawing a line. MWO is not an endless buffet to be served up at a whim. I would love to have the founders, pheonix, and Sarah Jenner, but I never will. I am ok with that. Just as you should be ok that you did have a chance to get these items.

No

Id rather see them give everyone a monthly pass to set up premium matches for like $5 a month.

Many of those packages were offered with the advertisement that they would never again be offered. That is a binding tagline and PGI must hold to it.

What we didn't get: A good chunk of our money actually going towards MWO, since it got sank (and boy, is that the right word) into Tactics instead.

That one thing basically ruined the entire spirit of what we expected as Founders- that our money was going towards developing MWO. Heck, it might have well been blown on trips to Vegas for all the good it did us.

I think most of us founders would have been happier to find out the money was spent in vegas on hookers and blow, at least then it would have been used in the spirit of entertainment.

Instead we deal with the fact that IGP got sneaky with it and funneled it into 3 legged horse MW:T. While most companies will turn a good chunck of profits into new development capital they usually wait until the game is done first, especially if the success of the new title kinda hinges on the one they are fleecing the money from.

Feel sorry for Founders, PGIGP has taken a dump on them multiple times. I wonder how many still are playing.

Hi all!

I just wanted to take a moment to mention that we do appreciate some of the concerns: We must emphasize that pre-orders only unlock the content included and advertised in their package. While we cannot give away large amounts of additional free bonuses to Founders and Phoenix supporters, we still do make attempts where-ever possible to salute these past pre-order supporters.

Phoenix pre-orders who have also pre-ordered Founders acquired a bonus hanging medallion along with their Phoenix medallions.

In line with that same added bonus, those who get a Clans Collection will also get bonus standing coffee cups for each previous pre-order they participated in.

With future pre-orders, we will continue to look for more exciting loyalty offerings to say thanks once more to those who have stuck around and we are certainly welcome to hearing some of your ideas!

Why not a real Coffee Mug? Thats a LOT of Scratch thrown PGIs way Someone who bought all three packs! Those folks deserve a T Shirt or a Baseball cap or Drinks Blow an Hookers!

Mugs.. or well any physical merchandise would be flyffynutterbutter expensive... Add shipping on top of that and we are talking some serious money. Also i am pretty sure there is a clause in the contract that prohibits them from making physical goods.

Putting aside the suggestions which come with some pretty tough ethical and criminal dilemmas...
While physical goods had been considered. It's important to keep in mind that our license places us as digital distribution only. Giveaways of free swag at live events are one thing but systematic creation, sale/gifting and delivery of physical goods requires much more clearance and overhead than we can dedicate at this time beyond value-added digital bonuses to future packages.

I'm of a mind that is a fair answer sir. FanPro only gave away a Mini in one World Wide Event. Made a limited quantity (120), and that was that. making enough "product to "Thank" the tier 3 Founders(bought every pack) would probably take some sizable scratch. I do forget the size of our Community at times. ;)

I think it would be nice at the three year anniversary mark to thrown a bone to any Founders who are still playing regularly. Maybe just a Forum Title or (if they have mech decals/emblems by then) a mech decal of whatever level they are (Veteran, Elite, Legend). It ain't much, but it would be nice to acknowledge our support of this VERY rocky process over the years.
