Next Week June 4th Star League Era Stock 'Mechs

Old School! Re-live the the age of the Star League with some of the oldest Battle 'Mechs that first appeared in the Inner Sphere.


Fun lore facts:

* The Star League Era was the time period when the Star League reached its height of power (after the "Age of War") and was destroyed during an Amaris Coup. It roughly lasted from 2571 and 2780. At that time Star League had additionally made remarkable advances in battlefield technology, all of which was subsequently lost after 2780 during the First and Second Succession Wars that lasted over a hundred years.

* The Amaris Coup, also known as the "Amaris Crisis" or the "Amaris-Kerensky Civil War" which saw the dissolution of the great joined Houses of the Star League. The war was fought both in the Periphery and Terran Hegemony, and saw the near complete destruction of the Rim Worlds Republic.

* Near the end of the war when the SLDF managed to liberate Terra, General Aleksandr Sergeyevich Kerensky of the Star League Defense Forces and General Aaron DeChevilier discussed what would happen next. Aaron joked to Kerensky that the SLDF should retreat into deep space and start their own colonies, which eventually did happen when Operation Exodus was hatched, which saw the complete departure of the Star League Defense Force fleeing from the Inner Sphere, which Kerensky and the High Command knew would soon be torn apart.

On July 8th 2784, General Kerensky gave his famous secret order - "Exodus" - the enormous force assembled at New Earth and 50 star systems and made their jump into deep space and into History.

Some people said they were having difficulty viewing the google docs link showing all the Stock Mechs, I have provided an alternate zip file download on the first post that contains HTML files. Just download the zip, extract to a folder on your desktop, and open the HTML files. I've tested that they work in IE, Google Chrome, and Fire Fox.


Other News

If the Clan Mechs are released on the 17th, we are hoping to try Clan Stock Configurations vs. IS Stock Mechs on the 18th for a real Clan Invasion!

I also altered the rules a little for days where DHS Stocks are allowed where there was just 3 or 4 per side. I lifted that restriction, since it can be difficult to decide who gets to use one.

Thanks to all that showed up on the 18th for stock battles, we had some awesome Clan vs. IS battles!

Operational Revival has begun. The pirates put up a tough fight in the Periphery but were eventually annihilated.

At some point. Youtubes hosed up my uploads last night, so I'll have to let it run again tonight. I didn't record voice audio, though, because I've had a headcold the past few days and I hated the sound of my own voice. =o/
