Yup it would be.

Go Bushwhacker!

*sighs* Yes... yes the bushwacker would be nice.

however remember, the timeline got reverted... we won't see anything post 3050 for a while... no bushwacker.

Urbanmech with a 360 degree torso twist and a slight capacity increase to its ammunition bins.

1AA runs @ 81KPH stock (before speed tweak), and therefore will have the same 295 engine cap the BJ-1X has.

Ya but Im hoping atleast one has a bigger engne cap like the Wolverine 6K, or the TREB 3C, Then we can talk. I really love the concept artwork also, seriously great looking mech.

I still say that is open to interpretation :)

Sarna makes it sound like full production started on 3053, but prototypes existed before that during the clan invasion (but weren't widely produced due to "defects"). Once a Mad Dog was captured and reversed engineered, they started full production in 3053.

That's how I interpret it. They never stated when prototypes were fielded. I say that gives us a sweet workaround :D. Its a stretch, but I'd take it

Vindicator?
Well, another "looking like the rest" battlemech...
The crab would have been a better choice. Just for the sake of the appearance.

Another thing in the Bushwacker's favor.

The 1st Summerset Strikers fielded a Bushwacker in the first season of Battletech the cartoon. That season took place during the initial invasion. They did get it half way through the first season, but they never implied that three years had gone by. Yes, another weak argument but still....

The Vindicator could be viable if the -1AA could pack 12 or 14 jump jet, emc, and had two energy hardpoints in it's hopefully flexible arm.

I'm not really sure what the point in the timeline is at the moment, it's just an arbitrary number. Until we get CW, it's pretty much a free-for-all. I can change my faction to Marik and still run around in my Clan mechs, or stay in Wolf Clan and run around in my Shadow Hawk, or any number of other ridiculous things.

Odds are you'll be running around in your clan mechs part of a house and you can leave a House whenever you want to join another, but I believe they hinted that your loyalty points are locked to the house they are earned, alongside any rank you gain. Hopefully House/Clan specific decals will also be locked and can only be placed on your mech if you are of that faction or unit.

I don't see them locking ANY mechs out of use to any faction. That would probably be the death cry of this game, even though it's something that makes sense.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on the Locust, I still use my Locust 3M from time to time. I have about a 1.4 KDR with it. Still, she is an unforgiving ride. She is the most unforgiving light in the game.

Certainly is. But thats part of the appeal. In what other mech are you thrilled nearly as much as in a Locust?

But she's a niche product, that's for sure.

TBH, the law of diminishing returns makes it a lot less desirable. 295 is pretty good for a cap (325 could be a sweet spot if you need that much speed). With the Cent-D and the Trebuchet-3C as the super engine cap mechs... anything above 350XL is pretty much overkill at that point...

Advantage Blackjack:
  • No Elbows means superior vertical on the arms and excellent torso twist
  • Book-on-end body is flat and hard to hit side-on
  • Balanced hardpoints for a 'mech where both sides are the same if you like
  • Variants include Ballistic/Energy, Missile/Energy, Pure Energy for more loadout variety than Vindicator

There is no variant of the Blackjack in the game that packs in missiles. I wish there was one, but there isn't. The only missile-equipped variant in lore is the BJ-2 (a 3052 'Mech); none of its spin-offs have missiles, either.

more like "Prototype" which would be relegated to a single loadout... we need a minimum of 3

How about a Chameleon?

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Chameleon

Now with 50% less chance of lawsuits.

I was just about to post that same argument. It has the same loadout of a Phoenix Hawk, but with an extra small laser.

Also, as a Training Mech the Chameleon could also be fun as a permanent 5th Trial Mech.

technically speaking, in the MW universe, there should be more "smaller" mechs on he battle field.

So why there is the 3/3/3/3 rule?

(I know you are right, but that's not how MWO works)

Its slow (Centurion speed) But carries a good array of weapons for all ranges. Which means it will be bastardized into something it was not meant to be.
