Nice...they made auto refill for consumables so easy in a previous patch....and now in this week's patch....they've added a confirmation screen to AUTO-REFILL.....so essentially adding 1 more step.

no..its not a confirmation screen....

its a bug they introduced with the hot fix apparently....where even if you click aotu-refill, it won't recognize it and won't auto-refill your consumable

hot-fix something, break something.... its S.O.P.

Well...essentially still adding a step, doesn't matter whether it was intentional or due to incompetence...

oh my oh my PGI, can you do ANYTHING right? lol :D ....what ....a ...joke

Really not liking the PPC speed nerf. I don't play meta builds, but I do use ER-PPC's. They are already the hottest weapon in the game and there aren't that many opportunities to use the range of them thanks to the many urban maps we have, maps like terra therma, and small maps with a lot of cover.

I prefer the idea of the Guass rifle being a charging weapon and the PPC being a heavy draw weapon so using the 2 at the same time being limited. It makes sense. Changing a long range weapon into pretty ball of light that you have forever to dodge at range while still having to deal with the extreme heat is only going to homogenize the game. It only makes the ER-PPC less usefull and the PPC a more mid range weapon than anything.

Hello there,

in insist in freezing my premium time because of the last patch. If you
need further explanations please checkout the forums feedback. The game
in the actual state is rubbish. So just freeze my premium time and stop
making the weapons useless.

regards, Magos

edit: my request to the customer support

I'm not too fond of the PPC speed nerf. Can't we just ghost heat PPCs with Gauss or have some electromagnetic-shenanigans that require a 1 second delay between any PPC or Gauss rifle shot?

People don't want PPC and Gauss to go together, so that's a given. Let's just hardocde it so that it can happen without slowing down the ER PPC back to the stone age. :D

Haven't read the entire thread, but I'm surprised nobody has hit on the real reason why the PPC speeds were reduced.

In Paul's pre-patch post, he talks at length about a change in the firing mechanics....then as an after thought he throws out that they might also consider lowering PPC speeds

Well, isnt it obvious why they went woth the speed change?

Doing what he detailed would require actual changes to the code...while lowering the PPC speed is simply a text editor

Paul went with the easy route because they couldn't figure out how to actually code the other solution that he putlined

Well, after i played around 15 matches, i can say that i can live with CERLL like it's working now(2sec without ghost heat) except maybe 1.8 sec would be better .
I admit i whined a lot yesterday. But now i think i was too emotional :D

the ppc are so slow... so, so slow. and their hit detection seems off now, although they do group quite well with the ac20/10 combos now, so its turned them into a pinpoint brawler thing again....

that's what we've been trying to tell them. They're shi*tting on one foot and rubbing it off on the other. This is not fixing the issue, it's just shifting it around.

Slowing convergence for crosshairs would solve all of that without having to keep nerfing weapons like they've been doing for 3 years now.

no they went with the speed nerf because everyone hated the trigger mechanic more. They gave you the better end of a shi*t sandwich

Well I do not clan so I cannot speak to that part.

I have been playing IS builds with PPC and it definitely takes some getting use to. They are playable but wow they are slow at anything with some decent range. Not going to be hitting long range unless it is a static target and/or they do not see you fire. Otherwise it can be dodged if they have decent speed. Which I understand is the intent of the slow down along with desync from gauss.

IMO bring them up 100 m/s more each and it is not breaking the change. Standard PPC to 950, ERPPC to 1050. They do not sync with gauss or become long range sniping friendly at those speeds.

Well to be honest i think PPC (not ER version) became more interesting. It teaches you how to hold your distance around 200-350 meters, and at this distance 750 m/s, more then enough. (AC10/PPC working like one, i dunno is it good or bad yet. BJ-1 with this setup is much fun!)

Currently they are 850m/s IS PPC, 950m/s IS and Clan ERPPC.

please don't fall for it. This is just good cop bad cop

I explained exactly how this would all play out last night. It's no surprise. The CERLL nerf was intentionally made to be far too drastic. It was never intended to stay in game. It was just to draw attention away from PPC nerf. ow many people do you see jumping for joy that Russ "listened" to them that have completely forgotten about the horrible PPC nerf...?

I think the PPC nerf is excessive too, but on its own I wouldn't have raised too much of a stink. The drastic change of 4 variables of CERLL at once was my only grief. I have very little respect for what I see of Paul in posts, actions, and dev Vlogs. I expect him to make the wrong decision for PPCs, and then backtrack and change them again in a few months. I've given up banging my head against his wall on things like that.

I'm not sure about the conspiracy theory. Either way, it doesn't matter much. I have absolutely no respect for Paul's ability to do his job. I still have a little bit of respect for Russ'.

mmh...yeah, feels like PPCs losing their good point...it's damn hot already and now it's more like slow-mo big blue bubble...my shadowhawk looked like a tall kid playing with bubble soap...but with more practice, i can get used to it ^_^ (no, am not a PPC+AC5 user)...or how about you give mechs that specialized in energy weapons some quirks, like faster cooldown, more heat pool, PPCs projectile speed and/or reduced beam duration?

and while you're at it, give mechs specialized in ballistic and missile weapons some quirks too :o, so we won't just see a different-sized target walking around bettlefield carrying some weapons...but a real role-specialized mechs that unique to each other  and there'll be no DOA mechs anymmore (i hope)

And C-ERLL...i think it's better if you just increased base heat and heat scale multiplier (but not from 3.0 to 12.0, that's just plain funny), not the beam duration...my poor warhawk and adder would get their face beaten a lot from staring contests if i were too eager to do full damage to my opponents...or i would burn my teammates' asses if i didn't careful enough...

All in all, why nerf the already introduced weapons? why not buff the others so they get in line together? if your concerns are the time needed to destroy a mech, then change the armor value, it's more simple than limiting the build options from the players with nerf bat....or if it's because PPC+AC combination, make it so they are forced to shoot them like chain firing (like PPCs first then ACs 0.5s later, with the exception for AC/2)...at least that's how i think. :D

This reduction in PPC travel speed amounts to about the same end as adding the Gauss charge did: made the weapon system more annoying to use without actually curbing its effectiveness. PPC-Gauss will still strike home every shot you fire, and now PPC-AC works better than ever. Altering the travel speed of a weapon which is unaffected by gravity will not hurt its ability to converge with other weapons in the slightest.

The IS PPC does too much damage for the amount of heat it generates and the weight it takes up.

Weight is dictated by tabletop, heat is in a decent place (ER-PPCs are almost entirely absent)... to me that says that damage is the problem.

Just finished a match. My CEELR's active duration time Is to long - If you are not careful you can cause damage to your team mates. PGI, Please reduce the time CERLL is active.

way to many matches were I fire a laser and a buddy runs into it when it should have shut off in a cool matter of seconds

2 seconds is too long of a beam.

It's OK for a giant, armored, Direwolf, who probably can't get back into cover in 2s anyway.

For the lights and mediums who rely on poke sniping, so they don't get insta-cored, 2s is very impractical.

I'd much rather see the following changes to cERLLAS

Reduce optimal max range to 810m (20% improved over IS ER LLAS) [NERF]
Reduce beam duration to 1.3s (30% longer than IS ER LLAS) [BUFF]
Reduce Damage to 10 not sure why this was set to 11.2 to begin with. [NERF]
Increase heat to 9.5 [NERF]

Now it's a bit hotter, a bit less damage/heat efficient. Range is not as long, but beam is faster.

This would overall be a much better balanced weapon IMO.
