Actually 1AA max engine almost max armor 2xPPC 1xML is one of my favorite builds and mechs (4x JJs). Its VERY fun mech.

1R i roll with 4xMPL 1xLPL max XL engine but you can go stdengine and 5xMPL. I tried 20LRM but i am bad with those. I like it as well tbh.

1X tried variety of builds PPC ac5 or PPC ac10, or 2xML gauss and above 3xMG PPC SRM6 build but i dont like it. Dont like it.

Hi Guys, some of these builds are very interesting. Ive been doing a LOT..and I mean A LOT of experimentation with all the variants and I really have to say the AA and the SIB are the superior choices. the best builds I have found are the ones that are kept simple AA (1xsrm6 4xmedlasers max jumpjets and max engines) SIB (2xsrm6 3xmedlasers max engine) I also run the srm and medium laser cooldown modules and the radar depravation module. I use the great jumping ability to out manouvere slower mechs and avoid weapons such as gauss other srm's etc with liberal use of the shutdown overide button. If you want something longer range, then maybe go the x with er or standard PPC medium laser 3 machine guns and srm6 And only use the medlaser, machine guns and srm when up close to avoid overheating. You can do some awesome jump turns whilst firing and straffing runs while jumping in this mech, and is one of the best ways to play it. Also my advice, KEEP MOVING.. never stop or stand still, even when you think your safe.. couple of shoots from a diregausswhale and its all over. lol

Quirks are out. You guys been building any differently? So far, the -AA with 2x PPC's and 2x ML has been my favorite.

after the quirk pass i have started using ppcs over large lasers more on my vindicators here is my favorite build i have come up with. Its meant as a force multiplier i hang with the pack giving ams coverage and helping counter ecms that come near.

for weapon modules i run both the ams range and ams overload.

the thing that made the most difference for the VNDs in the new quirk pass was the added tankingess of arms and legs.

I'm still utterly disappointed with the St Ives Blues, though. compared to the non-hero variants, it's absolutely lackluster and uninspired.

Played around with a double PPC 1AA last night and it was loads of fun and did feel sturdier than previously. I'd forgotten how well these little mechs handle.

yeah 2PPC 2ML with max jets is a keeper. with six jump jets and 111kph speed you can actually fly.

i'm seriously considering buying Vindicators for Cbills. Does anyone know how well they perform in CW yet? Are they worth it? I'm concerned they may be too big, slow and squishy for it except for the 1AA which looks ideal. Playing to the quirks looks also easy and like has been said before... standard engine friendly.

Also, does the PPC bonus extend to the ERPPC?

Vindicator twin PPC builds are actually great for CW. I use mine to pop up using jumpjets over the gate or behind cover and blast away. I use it for my first mech drop to quite good effect. Maxing it out with the modules certainly does help too. I know the temptation is there to use ER PPC's but it runs too hot, just use standard PPC's with the 2 modules.

what have you tried on the 1X?

I was running 2xAC5+2MLs on mine. Not great but only thing I could enjoy. using a 220xl

Tempted to try gauss+2MLs+235xl

So I got the 1AA. I love it. 1 PPC, 1ERLL, 2 MPL, 295XL and 2JJ max armor.

I use it as a 'tank killer', and so far, it's quickly maneouverable, has a heck of a long range punch. It didn't really come together till I slapped the ERLL on it though. Was always lacking something.

I'm gonna look at other smurfy builds for it that use a standard, buut with the desire I have for speed and maneouverability, it's hard coming.

After reading over this thread, I have been playing around in my 1AA with 2 PPC's, ML, 6 JJ's and 295XL, and it's a lot of fun!

The 1R I just popped in 5 ML's and kept the LRM5.

The 1X I also left it pretty stock, I just like a fistful of MG's.

Generally though, I leave it with stock weapon loadout, add a BAP and max out the armor/JJ's/engine - I just have a thing for stock loadouts.

I'm gonna echo what everyone else seems to be saying; the 1AA is probably the best variant. Max engine with max jumpjets is the way to go. However, I built mine with 4 mpl and a SRM6 and it makes for a great little brawler as long as you never stop and keep jumping. Usually get at least 2 kills and around 500 damage a match.

I don't really keep up much with the tweaks. What's coming up for JJs?

Well, we'll see how soon it's addressed, but it's in the 'things to do' pile and that's fix the exploit where feathering jumpjets really messes with hit reg.

Any recommendations for the 1X? I feel going an AC20 doesn't fit & an AC10 build wouldnt be worth it (when the 1AA has 2PPCs and goes faster), so trying to figure out a good build.
