Keeping my fingers crossed and supporting this game.

Agreed, but anyone who's played a loved the MechWarrior games didn't even give thought to that. My only concern was deciding which founder level to get.

i know this game will rock if you read anything off the forms i get too pwn the inner sphere no mechwarrior has ever came close too that, this game just makes my Epeen all hard just thinking about it

and for a F2P there not makeing it so you can buy power like thats what kills F2P not 25% more c billz and some XP if you cry over that you might as well quit gameing in gennral

and even if you dont pay any money for anything in this game dose not meen your going too just die all the time thats just silly a little hard work and you can be doing just as good as anyone that pays for there junk cus there lazy this founders is like the only thing i may pay for everything else im going too grind. that is unless they come out with some ballen mech skins that are cash only but then i still have 80 bucks that i get for buying a founders

its up too you just dont be ******** when you missed your chance

It all comes down to bang for the buck imo. I played WoW off and on for 6 years. Id say of the 6 years i was active half of that, roughly every 6 months on, 6 months off, repeat. In that time i bought NOTHING other then game time. So looking back i probably spent hundreds of dollars on the game, expansions and game time. But when people ask why pay so much for a game, thats a rip off. I can only reply whats 15/month if thats the only game im playing. Once you dump 100 days of game time in, whats a few hundred dollars. Better value then a game i buy, play for 5 hours and never touch again....

Id say taking the legendary package for 120 if i could get 60-70 hours out of it ill be more then pleased. and chances are itll be way more then that. especially since the Free to play formula exchanged time for money. buying premium speeds up the progression, its not required to progress however dumping 60+ hours into a game you might as well fork out some cash and enjoy it a bit more.

my 2 cents on it

Exactly. So what reward does a founder receive that a non-founder cannot? They receive a founder mech which a non-founder cannot receive. (Everything else in the Founders pack can be purchased by a non-Founder and cannot be considered a return on investment.)

So, is that reward worth the $90/120 risk?

Generally, when a person makes a risky investment, they have a set minimum accepted rate of return. As this number goes up, so does the risk. The minimum return with minimum risk (often accepted as no risk) is a 3 month U.S. Treasury bond. Anything above 10% is generally considered "risky". Anything approaching 25% should be viewed upon with suspicion.

So let's assume average risk on your $90 "investment". Ten percent of that is $9. Is the founder mech worth $9? Especially considering that there's no set value on the founder mech?

Well the dev post said the value of the Founder's mechs in dollars would be worth about $15 apiece, $10 for each month of premium subscription, and the $80 of in-game currency. So for the Legendary Founders, it's $120 investment on a $170 return and the extra value of bonus C-bills from the founders mechs is one that will continue to be of more value down the road.

Look at it this way....

I can go see Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter in 3D at $15 (the local AMC theatre admission price) for 1 hour and 45 minutes entertainment. ($8.57 an hour value)

That means if I play MWO for only 15 hours and never play again, I have gotten more entertainment value from MWO than I did from seeing the movie. 15 hours at $8 an hour = Legendary Founder.

Most likely, I will play at least 15 hours probably a lot more. Either way, it's still a better entertainment value than seeing a movie. That's pretty low risk in my book.

Going for the $30 and $60 levels is even more of a non-risk and a huge entertainment value.

MechWarrior makes me happy~
So... happy...
So given my limited budget at the time, and a whole slew of things going wrong on my end, this is the kind of escape I'm willing to put money on.

Don't worry, this isn't throwing me into the Ramen stage. I just want to ensure my MechWarrior continues to make me happy.

It's a MechWarrior game. The first one in 11 years, no less. There is no risk.

As much as people know how MW4 messed up a lot of things, they still ended up buying it anyway- long before it became free.

Small risk, big payout in gaming experience if it comes off. I'm no worse off that trying a demo disc on the cover of a magazine, liking it and then finding the full game is nothing like it and I'm out quite a lot of money. Difference is I'm buying in on the back of some videos and the fact that I love mech games ;P

Ramen = Mech-pilot Fuel.

Joking. ;)

Really awesome reading all these thoughts, "my 2 cents" posts, and general responses. Just as excited to game with this community as I am to get into my Mech. Well...almost as excited.

Yeah and then there are those others like me who played the beta of MW4 and thought *** have you done?? Mech3 just needed a few tweaks it was good enough to just get and update.(went back to Mech3 until they removed it from MSN gaming)

I never have, never will pay for Mech4 it reminds me of STW Gal and then they screwed that up (great job!)

I'm looking forward to MechWarrior Online the screenshots and Trailers look amazing and I'm impressed, yup I bought founders pack and yup it was Legendry, because it looks like the way Mech Warrior should be, small risk? I'd say stupid not to get founders.

I waited for 2 years for Stargate MMO only to see if dropped nice, so seeing this get to trailer stage and beta gives me great hope and Joy for when this game is released, and being Free to play also is a Great thing.

Its a Win win in my book.

FreejackeR -out.

It's not even a calculation for me.

These guys risked everything to bring the game to this point and even better saved the dying franchise off Microsoft mitts.
As soon as my paycheck score my money on the line. Just to add every little bit of water to the well.

Because if the project bomb, but the founder's programm money ease the loss a little, all not might be lost.

This is like any other investment...I choose to invest in this game because I have always loved the game. Since playing it with metal mechs and then online years ago. It sadden me to see it shut down, but all things change.
I am happy to step in and support this blindly...I accept the risk, and I am sure that it will turn out to be hours of fun...

I've been waiting the better part of a decade for a Mechwarrior game.

I'd say this is a risk worth taking.

I like that prospect... And I feel completely comfortable with my risk since I paid $60 for my pack. I definitely think that $6 is a good risk for a mech that I both get to keep forever, and get a permanent boost while playing it. Especially after considering all the other things I get on TOP of a founder mech.

Most of the reason I didn't get the $120 pack is because I will probably only use my founder mech for farming c-bills for my next big purchase. I have no need to have four of these, as I cannot play all of them at the same time. Though, the whole 'get your name listed in the credits' is still making me want to if I get another free $60 in the next month. lol.

I don't have anything to add that hasn't already been said. I had the funds available and look forward to what I believe will become a very fun and entertaining game.
