No; its not. You havent answered that question about what other games are made the way this one is now.

Given that this would back up your assertion of "thats how it works"

What other game polls their forums then, without testing of any kind or QA or anything jams it right onto the live server (that isnt in beta at the time)?

What games out there is this "how it works"?

Either way, this poll still doesnt make sence...wether you have 10 voters or 10k.

6 or 5001 vote yes, 4 or 4999 vote no.

Why are the 5001 correct and getting to chose THEIR play style, and the 4999 are incorrect and are being forced into modes they dont like?

Tell that to the 45% of Scots who voted that they wanted to leave the UK.

League of Legends does this all the time.

Redoing the vote, and putting a link in the launcher, is a smart move. For next time, I would suggest that you put planned patch changes on your blog, so it comes up in peoples' RSS feeds.

They do internal testing, just like PGI did in this case, but most of their balance changes to Champions happen this way. If you want reading just head over to their forums and I'm sure you'll be able to find complaining and whining about it. I can't be bothered to look some of it up right now, since I'm off to bed, but I'm sure it won't be hard to find.

Well were not talking about weapon/mech balance...coughLRMScough...this is a discussion about core general gameplay, and player choice in HOW they experience said game play.

In LOL...i believe oyu can still CHOOSE to play either 3v3 or 5v5 right? The 3v3ers didnt get to vote the 5v5ers out of existence did they?

That is what we have now. being able to choose the mech based on game type/map would be awesome.

Yes, i know, that is why i would like to see what happens if we can select 1of4 mechs from the same weightclass AFTER map and mode is confirmed, BUT it might turn out that some maps turn into spaming a certain weapon system maps. In which case fun will be less than before. Also it really is a death sentence to balanced builds. But still i'd like to see what happens IF we can select the mech after the map.

Something I want to (try) to make clear to the yes voters: those of us who are voting no aren't doing so because we hate the idea of better ELO in the game. I think almost all of us would like the matches to be well-balanced. Our problem is that eliminating the game mode choice is not a good way to do that. It may have some effect on balancing the matches, although I personally have still seen several 12-0 matches since it was implemented, but there are better ways to match up people by appropriate skill level. Ways that don't come with entire hosts of problems on their own, and which don't seriously anger large portions of the userbase. You don't need to eliminate player choice in gamemode to get a better ELO, you don't need to trap Dire Wolves in a hopeless situation in Conquest, you don't need to shove Conquest-optimzed players into Skirmish, and so on. And you don't need to threaten large portions of your playerbase with banning for just trying to play the kind of game they enjoy, and not being willing to sit through a match that is torture for them.

We are FINE with better ELO. We'd be happy to get it. Just not this way.

Still not sure what the big deal is all about.

They're all three the exact same game mode just with 0-5 cap points.

And really...

Shame on you PGI....for skewing your questions to confuse people into not seeing the actual issue. I am actually offended by this.

It would appear, by the way you have phrased this poll....that there are actually TWO topics that need to be "voted" on here.

Do you like ELO being closer in matches.

Do you like being able to chose what game types you play.

You have worded this poll in a way that people literally have to vote AGAINST one of the options they may want.

I am all for ELO being closer, while at the same time wanting the freedom to chose my game types.

The audacity of you obviously trying to skew the vote into the predetermined path you want to take is wrather disapointing.

If anyhting, this poll should read as:

Yes - I want ELO to be more accurate, so there should be NO CHOICE on what game mode you get to play.

NO - While I think matches should be fair, i shouldnt lose the freedome to play the matches i want to play. Fix the system in place to work more correctly with choice still in place.
