Really? Post screens. I've never seen any of my team say that. We've called people bad, cowards, etc.. It doesn't get more personal than that.

First, I could care less what the Lords do, or do not say. I have never taken screen shots because it is not my reputation that they are trashing. (If it was one of my teammates who talked that way I WOULD take a screen shot, and pass it along to my unit leadership, because that DOES effect my reputation.)

Second, what is the point is ANY name calling what so ever. Even the lesser offensive "ggclose" before a match even starts, calling people bad, calling people cowards...this is helpful in what way (other than to give your unit a negative reputation)?

Third, I KNOW that not all Lords act like this. I would be willing to bet that MOST Lords do NOT.

While I have many people on my in game friends list, I only have ONE 'friend' on the MWO forums, and he is a Lord. He is not ONLY a top notch pilot, but also a great human being who I have seen first hand on many, Many, MANY occasions take the time to help newer, or lesser skilled players...

...work on viable (meta) mech load outs.
...work on things like situation awareness.
...teach them tricks like how to torso twist.
...etc.

If all Lords acted like this Lord, I promise you the unit would NOT have the reputation they do. Sad fact is, there ARE those who think that calling people 'bad', calling people 'coward', IS acceptable and by your comment it seems you are one of them.

I would also like to note that I, at times of sleep deprived stupidity, have also called a player 'bad', and I have personally called out teammates for be being 'cowards'...in every case I regretted it as soon as I made the comment.

IMO anyone who saw be making these types of comments and said to themselves "this guy is an a$$hat" where 100% justified and accurate. The heat of the moment can play tricks on all of us, some it seem more so than others, while others still, fail to see how stupid they make themselves and their Unit mates look in the process.

As for the gay bashing, while I don't have a screen shot I did witness it first hand. The racial slur was not posted in 'game chat' but was audio of a video of a match posted by a Lord (I could look it up, but again...not my reputation, so I don't really care). The anti Semitic comments I will readily admit was something I heard from another (all be it a reputable source), never saw it first hand.

Finally, what reputation the Lord do, or do not have doesn't effect me at ALL. The point of my post was to explain to Silence Jin Mang that the issues that people take with the Lords are not about what mechs they bring to drops (The Lords bad rep isn't because they drop meta builds), but how they treat their fellow mech warriors (both on their team, and the other team) during those drops.

I won't tolerate hate speech and I have never seen the Lords do that. In fact a screenshot of that BS will get the person banned, PGI is not going to tolerate it , whale or not.

They trash talk, but I've never seen it venture into actual hate speech.

The harshest remark to an enemy team I've seen since last Friday was "that was a crap push" and I've ended up in 10-15 drops with them. In all honesty it was a crap push, the first half of the enemy mechs pushed in but the 2nd half of their push stopped to brawl a couple mechs at the gate. The first half got chewed up by the bulk of the defenders back from the gate who then moved to the guys stalled at the gate. 12-1 after the first push, no damage to base or any significant turret loss. A crap push.

Such mean words right? I wonder if that enemy team cried?

I've been called a coward more times by some RP doofus at the beginning of the match than I can count. What someone says in chat from the other team doesn't matter, but we can throw around RP insults all day long and that's OK? They'll do the GGclose stuff, and the Lord blah blah stuff, but if you don't see it for what it is, I'm not going to be able to explain it.

(hint - It's a psyop to get the other team thinking about anything other than piloting their mech and doing their job)

...buy hay, winning matches is what makes a Unit great, RIGHT? (another hint - 'greatness' is not only cleaning house and winning the match, but also requires a touch of class while they do it). I'll take it one step further and say that "True Greatness" is being able to lose a match and still show 'class'. Have you ever seen the way Lords talk to pug teammates when they LOSE a match? I have, and 'Classy' is not how I would describe it.

Sure, Lords can win matches, but for many non-Lords true 'greatness' couldn't be touched by them with a 10 foot poll because they are too busy playing "psyop" games (IE - have a lack of true an honest class). I am not saying or trying to imply that this is a reality....only that this is how some players/units outside the Lords, perceive the Lords to be.

Every post I have made is not to bash the Lords, but only to try to explain to the Lords (and those outside the Lords who do not know what all the fuss is about) WHY they have the reputation that they do.

I want to stress that in my personal experience, MANY of the Lords are in fact great pilots AND great people (both in skill and class). IF, you happen to see some who are not... please don't lump them ALL in with each other. Every unit has had 'those guys', even if they don't last long in the Unit.

Ah I think I understand now. We have differing views of "greatness". For me, greatness is when you drop into a game players think "OH **** ITS <fill in the blank>". When seeing the unit tag on the other side puts that thought into a mind that they're going to lose.

I do not think a "great team" would give a **** about anyone's opinion of them in any way because that would mean the focus of the unit is on politics and reputation and not skill and performance.

Maybe they don't want to be your definition of greatness but they have their own view which they prefer to follow?
